I'm hoping that Grace's statement is just a vocal red herring that Eren has managed to persuade her of his p.o.v.

Author's Response: That's some serious optimism!

Whoa, getting pretty dark here aren't we Grace?  Part of me kind of hopes for a twist in the plot, like Grace goes too far and Eren loses his will to live and dies.  Then Grace has a moment of actual panic because she broke her work to Jisoo and did something she can't just fix, bribe, disappear, or say "get over it".  As always "gone horribly right" is the trope I'm thinking off.

Author's Response: Oooh and what a twist that would be!

Everytime I read a Grace chapter it just makes me want to see her suffer. I know its unlikely but I'm really hoping to see her in agony. I really love this story but this chapter is a bit too similar to the last one for me. I just want the plot to pick up the pace but that's just me. I can't really handle seeing Eren undergoing cock and ball torture this severe lol.

Author's Response:

I think Grace's chapters have had the most erotica content in them but also some of the most cruel moments as well, she's definitely shaping up to be the primary antagonistic force now!

Originally Reprogrammed was one chapter but I felt it forced several weeks worth of in-universe time into a single chapter which didn't quite seem right, so it was broken up into two and left off with a cliffhanger on the first one since I wanted to give a bit more focus to Maeve in the second iteration. Way back when I was drafting the outline for Deliverance, this particular part of the story where Eren gets tortured by Grace was going to be like five or six chapters but then I realized 'wow that might get very repetitive and kind of depressing to just have that happen endlessly' so I glossed over some of the worst things she did to him but had it be mentioned. Reading your review i'm very happy I made that change and there were only these two to worry about!

I made an account just for this review. Your story is amazing. It’s fallen into the category of stories I find here where i appreciate it less and less for the erotica and more so for the plot. My enjoyment of your story then brings with it a touch of anxiety.

so far i think it fair to say that you’ve been responsible in your depiction of cruel acts. The deaths of Thomas and his sister were complicated but I felt necessary for the story but it became satisfying, strangely enough, when it became the catalyst for Eren’s growth and criticisms of Jisoo and down the line, the Amrita foundation.

To avoid rambling, which is my nature, I like the conflict. Too many times on this website when I find a story with an interesting plot, people in the stories do horrible things that are brushed aside with no self reflection or criticism or when the author is attempting to make a compelling story, half heartedly criticizes the actions of the giantess.

With that said, Eren’s friendship with Grace has reached a turning point. It, in my opinion, is possibly even greater of a betrayal than Jisoo’s, because she aims to effectively “kill” the current Eren and replace him with a version more compliant. Will she face the same period of self reflection or external criticism that Jisoo had to go through? Will we see any sort of retribution on Grace? When you have a character like Grace who does horrible things to the people they love because they think it’s the right thing to do, a strong response to that is warranted, lest we find ourselves in a situation where Grace is forgiven all too easily. I already feel that in some sense to Ren and Maddie’s situation. If Maddie accepts her position as a pet, as lesser than human, something her arc of forgiveness with eren meant to teach her specks weren't, should we the ready consider that right?

Sorry for the rant. This story is amazing enough that I can’t bear to read it if there is only one new chapter out. I’m already kicking myself now for having given in to the temptation especially with the situation Eren is in. Leaving me with all of the aforementioned questions and worries. Keep it up! You’re writing is amazing.

Author's Response:

Wow thank you so much! I greatly appreciate you taking the time to make an account specifically for this story, and I hope you enjoy future updates as well. There's definitely been a long period after the end of the first arc so to speak when the characters mainly moved countries, in which there was a lot less erotica and more of a focus on development of the characters. Now there's been a return to form and some more action, but I hope it doesn't feel forced by any means.

And yeah I agree with the point that characters in some stories will do absolutely terrible things and face virtually zero repreucussions, Jisoo is in a situation where she is finally beginning to reflect on her actions and feels regret but can't just say she's sorry and move on. There's a lot of trauma on her mind and her redemption arc will be a tumultuous one that is not neccessarily linear.

Unlike Jisoo we haven't really explored too many of Grace's introspective moments, but it was hinted at a long time ago that she didn't want to have to kill Eren if she was ever ordered to. She does have her occasional bits of humanity, like telling a person who betrayed her that she would make sure his family was safe, but other than that she's one of the most monstrous people in the story since she views herself as a divine authority who can do no wrong which for a while was the same way Jisoo thought. Whether or not she can be forgiven for what she's doing, that will be explored later!

Grace is also one of the characters who I plan to give her own prequel spin-off to at some point based off her activities in London which have been mentioned a few times, which further explains her worldview. So there's always that to look forward to!

This is more random thoughts and speculation than a review:

First off, these sort of Great Reset type stories where a NWO-shadow organization uses shrinking to achieve a new epoch are paradoxical by nature (not a bad thing, in fact, it's quite good). The giantess action tends to be top-tier. I'm reading another story of a similar nature, "To Break in a Pet," and some scenes, much like this one, deserve a chef's kiss. On the other hand, because the giantess action tends to come at the expense of characters I've come to care about, whether it be Eren, Tommy, or, in the aforementioned story, Annabelle, you can't help but feel absolutely devastated about.
This chapter is another good example. Panty entrapment ... evokes something, and that's all I'll say on that. But, Grace has been a nasty, and unfortunately, Eren is in danger, and just when he was about to get his drip.
"Reprogramming" is an intriguing chapter name. The obvious implication is that Eren is going to be reprogrammed into being an obedient slave. However, as there is a twist in your story, Eren isn't necessarily the only one having his spirit tested. Jisoo is en route to meet her mother, which will challenge her very nature, even if it would be beneficial in the end.
One could also wonder, if Grace herself is in danger of being "Reprogrammed" as well. As has been mentioned this chapter, Eren has been through the gauntlet. He might have a fighting chance of turning the tables.

Author's Response:

There's always the contrast of enjoying the giantess side of things, but opposed to them happening to people you don't wanna see hurt which I think is a fun concept to play with!

It was easy to forget how much of a monster Grace is.

She's also lying to Eren (and herself probably) that this for his own benefit. She's doing it partly for Jisoo (who would be much less appreciative of the means and outcome than Grace hopes) but mostly it's for her own sadistic inclinations.

For a brief moment it seemed as if she was feeling regret and perhaps even a little guilt when she was thinking of her own loneliness, recollecting her time spent with Eren, and pondering the way he grew up.

Author's Response: It's a number of reasons why Grace has decided to do this, but you are absolutely right to diagnose it as her being a sadist chief and foremost. Part of it is because she believes Eren will be executed if he doesn't change, another part is that she wants to make Jisoo happy by getting him to obey her. But it's pretty clear that ultimately she takes pleasure in doing it!

This is a doorstopper, that's for sure. I had to keep turning the page. Your story is very dynamic. At first, I thought it was some fun muscly murder-wife snuff and smut. Then, it turned into a giant conspiracy of another set of people who get drunk off of power. And that's the great irony you've masterfully set-up, the Amita's aren't any different than the human's they've condemned.

I admit that I felt Eren's character was a bit flat at first, he came across as a mere object for Jisoo's desires. It's late in the story that he fully develops as a character, and serves as a catalyst for Jisoo's change. He doesn't appear as murderous as that other Eren.

It's quite a tragic tale, particularly for Thomas, who was the character I was rooting for the most. He was resourceful, compassionate and reasonable. He was David facing off against Goliath, and it was sobering to see our David get crushed. It's necessary for the story, like Eddard Stark in GoT, but you just had to root for the man for his happy ending. Props on you for that, even though his sister was the punching bag for the first chapter.

Author's Response:

I think the first fifteen or so chapters of the Deliverance kept building mysteries on top of mysteries then those questions were answered but revealed new mysteries, and it just snowballed. It keeps readers not only entertained but constantly wanting to see what happens next and looking forward to the next update every weekend (or every other weekend depending on my schedule lmao)

Eren absolutely was the most flat character at the start of the story, I completely agree (ironically I think that makes this Eren pretty similar to tatake tatake Eren who only started to get more development way later into that series). Early on a big theme for him was that he was a relatively normal person who did not know anything about Jisoo except for that she saved his life, so she latched onto that and wanted to keep him safe no matter what. Afterwards he started to get his character development in the background with everything that happened with Maddie and Eureka, and even then I think he wasn't as interesting to the readers as Maddie was especially after she found Maeve and had a change of heart. Now that he's had his eyes opened so to speak by one of the main antagonists, he's finally a character! Too bad he's in a pretty sticky situation now.

Thomas was definitely a very popular character who I think is most aptly described as being a kind of Eddard Stark in that he's a fairy tale like hero who comes in to save the day and has so much going for him, but afterwards his death causes massive repercussions throughout the rest of the story. He's definitely a person who will be important in all future events that happen if posthumously since there was a time where he was the main character of the story next to Jisoo.

Thanks for the awesome feedback!

Eren’s not going to enjoy what’s coming too much but the reality is he’s been running on borrowed time for a little while. I have mixed feelings on Grace. I disagree with every single one of her views but she’s arguably the best character in the story on the fetish side of things (although I do wish she was a little gentler) This path is better than death for Eren. I just hope the effects aren’t permanent. We know that Grace has enjoyed doing what she’s about to do to Eren when the victim was Thomas or someone else. Will she still enjoy it when it’s Eren or is it truly a last resort? Also awaiting the inevitable reunion between Jisoo and Grace.
Kudos to you for getting me hooked on this story. I prefer stories that aren’t as plot focused and stories that aren’t dark and don’t have violence/death/injury but I keep showing up for more and eagerly await each update.

Author's Response:

Grace is definitely the source of most of the stories most prominent size fetish shenanigans, and yeah Eren has been on borrowed time which I decided to time-skip two weeks into this and establish why Grace is doing this and how Eren's come to terms with the break-up. Less fluff so to speak!

And it's been a bit since we had some gentle stuff to break up all the darker themes but I'm glad you are still enjoying this rather gruesome tale unfold!

Wow, wow. That really was intense. Maddie's position is more than clear. After all how could you forgive someone who literally destroyed your life. It's sad and ironic to think that just a short time ago Maddie had admiration for Jisoo. Here in my country we have a saying that goes:

No one knows the turns that life takes

I didn't like that last thing that happened. If Grace heard Eren's conversation, that doesn't look good at all. It could be confirmation of what Satsuki said regarding Eren. And now there is no Jisoo to save him. As I said before, it is David against Goliath. And he is a huge and powerful Goliath. I don't know who or what could be the slingshot that brings him down. Still, I definitely think the humanity in this story needs a lesson. I think that Amrita's dream is not so bad if we consider what the humanity of this story does with the special. The problem itself is the means they uses to reach their goal and the way they see themselves. The gods do not feel the pleasures of the flesh as they do, they do not consider life as something so trivial. Life itself is something divine and therefore is above any desire they have. That same concept has to be learned not only by Amrita but also by the humanity of this story. I think that was the message that Jisoo's sister tried to convey during the reincarnation.

Only part of this story I consider evil. That damn suspense hahahahaha.

Na. It's a joke Kardo keep it up. Very good literary work as always. It's amazing how much you can learn from it.

Author's Response:

That's a very good point about Suji, she definitely believes in the importance of human life and feels guilt over 'her' actions from a past life. It will definitely be a long time before Maddie gets over what happened to her, but at least she's safe : )

This story just pulls me in and holds on. I sit on the edge of my seat (figuratively) waiting for each chapter.

I love a good redemption story and this is good, ramping up to be great.

Author's Response: Jisoo has been going down the moral spiral for almost forty chapters and slammed into a wall right as she hit the peak of her god-complex, then crashed and burned hard and now has to try picking herself up again. She's definitely one of my favorite protagonists!

Date: February 07 2022 10:31 PM Title: Revocation

Well this chapter started dark.  I recall another story with similar kitchen scene, only that was told from the perspective of the tiny humans being prepared.  Anyway, it's kind of amusing to me that Grace will happily eat specks alive and whole but becomes squeamish when she sees them butchered like that in the sushi or would have to bite the live ones in half rather than swallow them whole.  Seems like her conditioning missed a spot.

And Jisoo.  Oh my, she really screwed up here didn't she.  But at the same time, and the other reviews mentioned this, she was brainwashed and Eren is causing it to come undone.  Also, I foresee a fight between Grace and Jisoo.  Grace firmly believes in the cause and loves Jisoo but Jisoo's having second thoughts thanks to Eren.  On another note, it looks like the Buddha has a surprise for everyone.

This story has become a full length novel and I love every bit of it.

Author's Response:

I believe that story you are referring to may be one of Inwiththebook's stories perhaps, it was about an elven establishment that served humans as food! That was definitely the inspiration for the opening of this chapter and an opportunity to write hard vore. Exciting news is that at some point the two sushi chefs may get their own spin-off story, nothing is concrete obviously but its very likely.

It was clear from almost the beginning when she would have these flashbacks, that Jisoo was brainwashed. These thoughts were constantly there and came more to the surface as time progressed. That was her real inner self speaking, her conscious so suppressed.

I like this story. It has some similarities with my stories when it comes to different viewpoints of groups of characters and a subtle overarching story.
Who is good or bad is for the reader to decide, although in your story it is clear where the arrogant villains can be found.

I think Jisoo is lied to and what is done to her is awful. Like in the movie "Wanted" where the group of assassins let the new guy think he is hunting the killer of his father when it is revealed that the so-called killer was his father. That was the feeling I got from Jisoo when she had those constant flashbacks of feeling guilt.

Author's Response:

That is a very astute observation! Her 'real self' has surfaced occasionally and given her hesitation in the past, but now that history is repeating itself with her Eren mimicking what happened to her adoptive sister, it's now much stronger than ever and causing her internal conflict. There's one more piece to the puzzle however which comes out next chapter!

Reviewer: kenrios Signed starstarstarstarstar [Report This]

Oh, wow. What chapter. It is just as I imagined. Those feelings of Eren finally erupted when he found out about Maddie. Jisoo sentenced Maddie to a life of being Riuwen's pet and that was finally the straw that broke the camel's back. Jisoo had to get drunk in order to hurt Eren. It's amazing, after all that those two felt together for Jisoo it was more important her "Heavenly Duties" than the person she once loved. It's hard for me to believe right now that Jisoo has feelings for Eren. As always said that woman is a very contradictory character.

But, also as always the suspense. That "golden flash" that launched the Buddha statue on Jisoo that knocked her down. Oh wow that was unexpected. In the previous chapter, Jisoo's sister or mother was seen in front of a Buddha statue, meditating. Umm what a mystery hahaha just as I expected from the end of this chapter. Well, nothing. To wait for the next one.

Kardo, side note, I saw on the Discord channel that you had some health problems with Covid-19. I just hope you get better soon friend and I don't know if it will help you much but they say that Omicron (the variant of coronavirus that is circulating now) is more virulent but less aggressive than Delta. I also had coronavirus although it only lasted a week in which I was asymptomatic and treated with Interferon. Good health and thanks again for not discontinuing this work. I know you're going to great lengths to bring this to us.

Author's Response:

I greatly appreciate your concern for my health! I had the omicron variant which has given me a very persistent cough which restricts my ability to speak properly. This chapter took so long to come out mostly because I was recovering for quite some time; it hit me harder than most other omicron cases do. But not to worry I should be back to normal and able to write at the normal schedule once again of every one to two weeks on weekends!

Ok, so now that a lot more of "the plan" has been laid out I have a few things to say. This story has gone off the rails into the realm of sheer, absurd stupidity. Jisoo and all of her batshit crazy family are a bunch of hypocrites (as has been reiterated upon many times over). They claim they want a perfect world, and will secure their rule by not trying to fix wrongs in the world but to greatly exacerbate them in the hopes that all those that suffer from their actions don't hate them for it. To go from creating specks with the sole reason being making the rest of humanity despise and brutalize them, only to plan to microspeck the rest and have them be at the mercy of normal speck is incredibly stupid in so many ways. For example, the current specks currently survive on the meager handouts of normal people and society. If all of that society and people are turned to microspecks then they all starve. Unless the Amrita corp is somehow able to reach and feed, clothe and otherwise support everyone on the planet the death toll will be in the billions. In which case it might be more humane to just release a bioweapon to kill them instead of messing around with shrinking so they all have to suffer in one way or another. I guess at this point I'm just confused at all the problems they're creating, instead of solving for their "perfect" world, which by all evidence is in reality more of a tyrannical police state built on hatred of each other to avoid hatred of the cause of the architects of it all. I'm a little curious if the Amrita corp has their employees sign in with a sieg-heil before they goose step their way to the office with plans to destroy the human race. I hate to be so critical of a once great storyline but while there may be some mildly interesting drama left to unfold the reasoning and basis for a lot of it grows weaker with every chapter.

The only good thing about this chapter is how Eren seems to have grown a spine and a shred of a conscience. Which while refreshing is starkly in opposition to his behavior and reactions to all of this happening before. He defends Alice and her brother now, but in the moment and after watching their execution all he could muster was a whole bunch of "meh, they were bad I guess." I find his indignation to be justified, however I also find it to be wholly out of character.

Author's Response:

"This story has gone off the rails into the realm of sheer, absurd stupidity."

So I actually really like more critical reviews but I think that's just very mean and not exactly constructive. On to your review itself I do disagree with your analysis for a couple of reasons, but I definitely like discussing about it in a mutually respectful way. I don't think you really understand that the Amrita Corporation or why a lot of characters act how they do. The Amrita Corporation isn't actually trying to make the world a better place. It wants world domination. However they cannot outright come out and say that to all their members and employees, since obviously some people would disagree. Therefore they say that humans are evil, or that it is all for the greater good, or that their family members are gods and have a divine right to rule.

Some characters like Jisoo, Ruiwen, and Grace fall into the category of believing that they are gods are have the right to do whatever they want to humanity since they think they know better than them. And for Jisoo, it's also because she fundamentally hates ordinary people. Jisoo being a hypocrite isn't really a criticism, since that is a part of who she is as a character. She is supposed to be a hypocrite at this point in her development.

Other characters like Xiangling, Lianfei and Lukas on the other hand don't see the Amrita Corporation as doing it all for the greater good, but support it because they as individuals will greatly benefit from it. Lianfei who married into the family will be given lots of power, as would Xiangling who worked for the company then had a relationship with Grace, and Lukas has the opportunity to be one of the humans not shrunken by Operation Deliverance and also gain a lot of power money and influence. This is one reason why lots of Amrita Corporation employees do what they do, because they know if they are victorious they and their families would have a lot to benefit, which in addition to a very careful vetting process explains why they are loyal. Then finally you have Satsuki. She is a character who makes it very clear that she understands what the Amrita Corporation is doing if they claim to be saviors is hypocritical. The entire point of her conversation with Eren in a previous chapter was to make it very clear that the true purpose of the Amrita Corporation is world domination, but she goes through with it anyways without caring about the supposed justifications because she thinks they are a waste of time, since she just wants to be a god-queen and have power.

As for your point about Eren, try to put yourself in his shoes. You are in love with a woman, but now have seen her darker side. Sure she killed some people, but those were two people who he barely knew and one of them tried to kill him and the other defended his would be killer. So he can look past that for the most part. However Maddie is someone who he considers a friend, is his boss, and he has seen her change of heart. Obviously when Maddie is in trouble, it will be much more impactful, and it happens right after Satsuki reveals everything to him so he is especially sensitive to that right there and then. There has been no precedent for him before like this, so I disagree with your assertion that it is 'out of character' for him to have a reaction like that.

Like I said I welcome all criticism but I also really don't appreciate the unnecessary statement at the start, and don't really agree with your points although I do believe everybody is entitled to their views on something. However if you think the story has gone off the rails, trust me it only gets worse from here.

Ah, yes!  The same old excuse:  "We're doing it for The Greater Good!"

Jisoo tells Eren that specks killing microspecks is for the good of the whole world.  Satsuki claims killing both Jisoo and Keqing is for the good of the whole family.  And the Nazis claimed killing six million Jews was for the good of all Germany.

Describing that over-used cliche as "bullshit" would be putting it too kindly.
