Oh, crap!  And if Jisoo does that, it permanently destroys the barrier between mundanity and magic? With eternal sovereignty going to the Shintoist pantheon?   Whoa!

Author's Response:

Yuuup! To explain exactly what is happening a bit more clearly, Jisoo using her magic is damaging the barrier between the mundane world humans have built and the world of spirits. A big inspiration for this was the idea of yin and yang; balance between two extremes.

And if Jisoo did something as world-changing as shrinking the entire population, it would shatter the barrier altogether and return magic to the world as it once was.

Oh, wow. The end of this chapter is somewhat complicated. How do you undo so many years of hate? Both on one side and the other, without affecting the free will of the human race. It is so ingrained that as Jisoo supposes there is no solution that works in the short or long term. One solution might be to make all of humanity the same size. I think that although many do not like it, we must consider that they could no longer kill the motes as was done in the past in which even more than 40 elderly and children were killed and nothing happened. It wouldn't be nice but honestly the humanity of this story deserves it, even if it was influenced by the Corp Amrita.

Author's Response:

It's a hard choice for Jisoo to make, especially since she feels so responsible for causing all of this (technically she DID in her past life) and wants to fix her mistake. But since she refuses to either alter peoples minds to make them 'better' or rule as a god it means her choices are pretty limited. Especially since she wants to live an otherwise normal life.

We'll see what she chooses to do!
