Hey, I literally made an account to write this, but I keep coming back to this story. It just pushes all the right buttons for me, despite being so short.
I love how you write about young schoolgirls. And how the boys are being traded like marbles, I love that their fate is decided by an innocent game, and I love the little details like that they're wearing Mary Jane shoes. Those are the best!
The small details like mentioning that their hands are sticky, or the discarded chewing gum or twigs makes the mental image while reading that more vivid, and it's something you're really good at.
I realize you said that you don't want to continue this, and I respect your choice. But you also said this was a fragment of a novel you never finished. Is there any chance you could post the rest at least?
Life is life, so if you don't feel like it, no worries man. Just thought I should at least try.

No, it's an old "novel" that I never found time to continue in 10 years. So I just posted a fragment for fun. Unfortunately the kinkajou has to do other things in real life.

Oh whoa I actually remember your old story from a long time ago "three things about my sister". Very solid writing and story for a single chapter. I always wondered if it would see a new chapter someday. Good to see you back regardless!
