I usually end up enjoying, say, 10% of your stories, due to violence etc etc

Still it's worth reading all of them until I'm certain that it's something I really don't want to read, exactly because you write some gems as (the first two chapters of?) this story.

Just out of curiosity, is there anything special about february 26, or did you just think "omg, it's been a whole year!"?
