I really, really liked this story. Nothing like a good silly story, in my opinion. Thanks again for sharing.

I agree with what Cary said,  you should read and review other stories here, there are plenty of good stories around these days.

Author's Response:

Like I told Cary, I do try to read and review a few but time constraints and picky/selective taste in GTS fiction sometimes get in the way.

Goofy, this tale may have been. But, enjoyably so!

Thanks for sharing it with us, Pixis. And, from now on, don't be such a stranger! Even if you can't post as many stories as you used to, you can still read and review. Right? :-)

Author's Response:

Yeah, I try to read and review a few stories now and then. Don't always have the time for it. And I'm pretty picky when it comes to GTS stuff so not everything grabs me.

In any case, thanks for reading. I figured this one would be up your alley, Cary.

Brilliant way to end it, a giant busty Zatanna is a great giantess, even more dangerous with her magic! Will you be writing anything else :)

I'll read almost anything if its from you.

Author's Response:

I have a few ideas I'm toying with. We shall see. Thanks for reading! Glad you enjoyed it.

Oh, dear! That was truly an unexpected development...which, of course, is the hallmark of any well-planned story. Brilliant plot-twists, like the one in the previous chapter!!

More specifically; the Golden Age GL was never powerless against yellow (the band of the emotional spectrum representing fear). Just wood! Ergo; Jade was able to overcome the fear-based power of Despotellis' ring-enhanced germs.

But, with her emerald energy being magic-based, will she be able to overcome a Mr. Mind-controlled Zatanna? Only time, and the next suspenseful chapter, will tell.

One final push, Zatanna's magic is strong!

1) The Puffball GL made its one and only appearance about twenty years before Flashpoint (i.e., circa the 1990's).

2) The evil Puffballs faced by the Hulk (and which had been corrupted by the Brood-like N'Garai) were first encountered during his brief exile to the Crossroads of Eternity, two years before TALES OF THE GL CORPS.

3) I loved the psychic duel between Vixen and Mouse Man! It reminded me of the one between Xavier and Abdul Faoul, when they first met (in the pages of the Claremont-era UNCANNY X-MEN).

4) But, my inner jury is still out on Devouris. Right now, even the 1966 Hanna-Barbera version of Galactus seems comparatively scarier!

Author's Response:

The psychic battle was definitely influenced by Xavier vs. the Shadow King (though I think I first saw that scene on the X-Men cartoon).

Devouris is not really meant to be scary. He's a total joke character, but pretty fun to write.

Shirely I didn't see that joke coming!

Brilliant stuff, thought you abandoned this story but nay, you didn't!

Despotellis, huh? Sounds like a cross between Morticoccus and the Puffball Collective. Come to think of it; didn't TALES OF THE GL CORPS feature such a hive-minded organism becoming a ring-slinger after a Hulk story arc involving a similar being?

I'm surprised Marvel didn't sue DC for plagiarism!

Author's Response:

Not familiar with that Hulk story. The Tales of the GL Corps story you're thinking of might be about Leezle Pon, the sentitent smallpox virus Green Lantern (I mentioned him in chapter 1 as Despotellis' enemy). I think he was an Alan Moore creation. As for Despotellis, he's from the more recent Sinestro Corps stories in the GL series.

YES! Sir Pix-is back!!

Long time/no see, dude. And, this opening chapter does not disappoint. There should be more comic book pastiches on this website!

Wonder if Despotilis will be defeated by Jade sneezing him out. That would be hilarious.

It's really nice to see another story from you. I love your DC comics stories, so I'm sure this one will be awesome. Great first chapter!

Great start. Liked how funny some parts were. Looking forward to see what happens next. Man this takes me back to watching the justice league on cartoon network.

Glad to see your name in the recent section.

PS just thought I'd ask, will Vera be continued?

Author's Response:

Glad you're enjoying it. Yes, I slipped in some homages to the Justice League show and other versions of the team.

Not sure if Vera will be continued. That story sparked some debate towards the end that left me a little frustrated and not as passionate about it as I had been. The last chapter was meant to be open-ended though so maybe one day I will go back to it.

A Pixis story! I see they're not totally useless since they got Zatanna under their control, really love your stories and hope this goes on to be a classic!

Author's Response:

Thanks! Yes, they're not quite as useless as one might think.
