Eek, gruesome stuff. That last bit particularly reminded me of a Saw trap or something. Hopefully our heroes' payout is worth it. A very suspenseful read indeed.
Author's Response:
Thanks. I wanted this moment to feel especially gritty for the culmination of Taylor's arc.

I don't get What Halle's plan really is! And Where's Taylor in fight scene?
Author's Response:
Halle wants to hold the Betas for ransom, while Gail wants to just kill them all. Taylor is in front of the stage during the fight.

As expected, betrayal, because of different views. Gail is not the smartest, but Halle's overal plan is delusional. Except for Alma(the true psycopath), those others never had to deal with Omegas dishing out punishment to them. These idiots accept for Alma haven't the slightest clue in what sort of trouble they are. They won't last one session with an Omega before they break.
Author's Response:
Halle's aware of the stakes (though not all of them), though she does have an end goal here.

I haven't taken the time to comment on this but I just wanted to say that I'm enjoying this story. I like the Omegaverse setting and you've done some interesting stuff with it in this hostage thriller. You depict the tensions between the various sized races well. And I especially enjoyed the news copters' close encounter with the Omegas in this chapter.

This answers the question about what Cain and Abel would've been like if they'd been sisters. Basically? No different, at all.*
*If that last allusion doesn't provoke Timescribe, nothing will.
Author's Response:
They're not exactly great at sharing.

Will you ever return to The Freshman?
Author's Response:
Eventually. I take long breaks between writing that.

but to have to stand by and watch in the unpunished aftermath of her best friend’s house being attacked by an Omega all to win back some Beta scum’s furniture… well, that was just about all the convincing Alice needed to learn she had been on the wrong side.
Interesting, from Omega Touch. :)
I wonder If Alexandra and Bridget will make appearences.
Funny how those Alphas think. They complain about how Omegas are treating them, but at the same time they find it perfectly normal to do much worse against Betas.
I like the pacing of this story. And the suggestion that Kayla will maybe at some point make an appearance is exciting.
Author's Response:
We won't necessarily be seeing Lexi and Bridget in this story, but I do intend to bring them back someday. And the Alphas are just hardwired to think that way.

So that was Alice's reason for joining a bunch of mass murderers? I don't know if that's worse than the killers she's hook up with or just really really pathetic.
The Omega universe seems to be what happens when you take a world based on those standardfare 3D collages from Emma, SorenZer0, jamesmanson0, or Redfiredog, and then decide to add back law and order through the form of even bigger giantesses.
I'm kind of more interested in what Aegis does after this is resolved since it's obvious Kayla is going to make their lives a living hell once she comes back. I'm kind of surprised Kayla's status as a goddess isn't known among the population since an event had to have happened that made the Omega's the dominant class of the world. No nation would've sat idly back and let them take control.
Aegis is already close to crossing the authortorian line now but will this make them go over the edge?
Author's Response:
It wasn't necessarily a whole reason; more like a tipping point. Alice is just someone who was already looking for excuses.
Kayla's difference and her abilities as an Omega aren't publicly known. There will be more explanation for that in future stuff from Ackbar.

Cowboys have a saying: "Ain't a horse never been rode. Ain't a rider never been throwed."
To which we can now add: "Ain't a Goliath never been felled by a David."

Until now, that is.

Not dead, just in a long coma.

Glad to see you back on the front page!
Mind if I ask, were these handful of months away a recovery period from writing burnout, or perhaps refueling for another round of pre-written chapters?
I certainly don't want to pry if it was due to personal issues, but it's great to see you again. I'm looking forward to your work as always~
Author's Response:
I wish I could say it was the latter. Mostly I've just been too busy to write.

Glad to see you back in action, i love this story.
PS: do u have updates for your other stories like Time Out?
Author's Response:
I plan to update some of my ongoing stories, hopefully soon. I have plans for Time-Out 7 but want to finish one of my ongoing stories first.

Mind if I ask you a couple quick questions, Jacksmith?
1. What story did you have the most fun writing?
2. What story objectively do you think is the best?
3. What story is your personal favorite?
Author's Response:
That's hard. I don't know if I could pick one that was most fun vs one that's better than the others. I usually have more fun writing ones that are more focused on the action like A Little Blackmail but I think ones like Freshman are better narratives.

The view through Ben's eyes is more interesting. He has a lot more hardships to endure. His survival tale is more exciting.
Thanks. There are a lot of characters in this story, but it's really meant to be through Ben's eyes most of all.
