Well, I'm afraid that in order to see what Kelly does as a Goddess or what Casey and Lisa do while Kelly deals with the military... you will need to wait for Side Effects Volume 3. I don't typically anticipate what is going to happen, but we have almost reached the end of the journey for Volume 2 and you have been a great support with your comments and your encouragement over the last months, so I feel like I owe it to you :). Next week's chapter will be the last one and it will "just" be an epilogue for the story, shorter than usual. It will close a couple of loose strings and set the scenario for the next story.
As with Volume 1, I did not want to have a story that would go on forever. I don't like posting a story if I don't know that I will be able to complete it. So, before I posted Volume 2, I made sure that I drafted a complete story that ended at some point and that could be considered self-contained. This point will be the one in the epilogue next week. Differently from Volume 1, though, the girls are not going to be reduced at the end of the story... which means that Volume 3, if it ever exists, will take it from the place Volume 2 finished.
My intention is to write Volume 3. But I won't be able to promise anything before I have a draft that I feel happy with. It would not be the first time I get stuck while writing a story and, again, I won't post anything I'm not able to complete. Right now I have an outline already drafted and have written the first few chapters (what is probably around a third of the story), so I'm reasonably optimistic. In any case, it will be a while before I will have anything ready to post.
Having said this, I will greatly appreciate any comments and suggestions regarding where you see this series going.

Finally got caught up.
This chapter was fantastic. I like how Kelly isn't choosing sides between Lisa and Casey(original I thought she'd choose Casey to stay big) because she doesn't agree with either one. I honestly think Kelly is gonna kill herself or at least try to in an attempt to grow into a bigger giantess. I just hope if that's the case she won't get too big because what would be the point for her if she can't interact with regular sized people, maybe something like 500' because then people would be like an inch and the other two would barely reach her navel.
At any rate I'm glad that Sykes jackass is finally gonna get his. Looking forward to seeing Kelly crush him.
Gonna play devil's advocate now. If I'm right about Kelly wanting to get even bigger to control the others she'll have to give Casey something(like maybe the first town they grew in). Just saying because Casey likely will never stop especially if she feels like her giantess status is going to be taken away. Lisa is different, I think that dead down she wants to protect people and if Kelly were to somehow get in possession of them I believe she'd back off to save them and do what Kelly wanted(which is to leave her in peace).

After a few slower chapters, this one (and also the previous one) are much faster paced. I'm happy that you liked it. It's one of the important chapters in the story. Volume 2 is almost at its ending and the level of action will increase even more in next week's chapter.
As usual, I won't comment on specifics of what will happen in coming chapters, but you have some good ideas ;)
Having Kelly choose Casey's side and the two of them behaving like cliché giantesses would have been a little too easy. Instead, I decided to push the differences between the three girls to the limit and to change the scenario a little bit (more to come about this next week). To me, it was logical that Kelly would end up keeping a more balanced approach to the whole situation than Casey and Lisa (if one can call balanced a position that consists on wanting to stay big and use the size to do whatever she wants and rule over everyone else...).
Finally, regarding some of your suggestions... well, I already started working on ideas for Volume 3 :). I don't know if it will ever become a reality, but after quite some time without a clear idea on which direction the story could take, I seem to have found some inspiration. Hopefully it will be enough to complete it (otherwise, it won't be published). But I did not want to stretch the story in Volume 2 any more than necessary.

Ok so now we see if Kelley can get bigger. The you can't stay like this line with Kelley saying Ron is right is making it so hard to wait for next week. Is kelly gonna be able to get bigger (oh god I hope so haha)? Will she be able to put Lisa and casey in their place? What can the humans do if she gets bigger? They really can't even stop the girls at this size! As always can't wait for next update!

Really happy for the update! I'm a bit surprised that Kelly didn't at least break Ron's arm or something to scare him into not doing anything else. I wasn't too surprised she didn't kill him but I was thinking she was gonna be alot angrier than she was!
It looks like Kelly is the wild card here; we already know that Casey is gonna be a crazy bitch that kills everything in sight, and we know that Lisa is gonna try to stop this. But I'm still wondering what Kelly's role is in all this! Great chapter!

Well, Kelly was angry at Ron, but she was satisfied enough with hsi explanations. In the end, it became clear that both of them had lied to the other but it was also clear to Kelly that Ron had not tried to kill her and that it had been someone else instead. In that context, she could not kill him. After all, she appreciates him. Kelly has got to a point where she doesn't mind killing those who attack her but where she is still mindful about everyone else. It's an unstable enough position to be at, but as you say, she is not a crazy bitch like Casey. She is not like Lisa either...
I think the next chapter will finally clarify everything, even if some things will end happening as a consequence of a series of of coincidences. Volume 2 is getting to the end...

Ahhh love where this is going? What is Kelly gonna do?! Who is gonna win the fight between Lisa and Casey? What effect will the gas have on them?! I'm really glad and surprised Lisa can still hold her own against Casey. Seems like Casey is stronger but Lisa is catching her off guard. I've got a strange suspicion that there is going to be a BIG (see what I did there?) Plot twist. Can't wait for next chapter!

Thanks! Just let me tell you that wherever it is going, it is going to get there fast. I know the last couple of three chapters had been kind of slow, from the point of view of the plot moving forward, but the time for slow progress is over. The next couple of chapters are going to reveal all the surprises I had in stock for this story. I hope that you'll like where it goes.
As for the specifics: Casey is clearly stronger than Lisa. After all, she has learned to fight in her 6 years in a maximum security prison, while Lisa has recently been a mom and was working as a kinder garden teacher. But Lisa can still hold her own. Part of it was her old training in martial arts, another (more important) part is survival instinct and finally, there is the very important contribution of her physical enhancement. Like Casey (and Kelly), Lisa is not only bigger, but she is also stronger than she should be for her size. Of course, her opponent is also stronger, but in the end, their increase strength makes them last quite more than they should in a fight.
As for the effect of the gas... well, next chapter will be posted next Saturday :)

Well, this chapter came out a little shorter than usual (still >2000 words, but I guess that I'm used to writing quite longer chapters that that...), but we've reached a point where I wanted the plot and the necessary cliffhangers to determine the action and the length of the chapters. The next couple of chapters are going to be longer and packed with a lot of action. Things are getting to their conclusion, so action will practically not stop from now until the end.
I missed the update last week (I was travelling for work again...), but I'm afraid that this is this week's update. I should be able to post the next chapter next weekend, as usual. And one never knows what can happen, but I think that I should be able to keep the regular weekly updates from now until the end of the story.
I hope that "where it goes" won't disappoint!

I love Lisa! The fact that she's pondering whether or not to help tinies who are scared of her really puts her character into perspective. To be honest I think BOTH Casey and Lisa are ouliers, they are the rare people. I think it would be hard to find girls that would kill any and every little human in her path with such glee.
Similarly, I think it would be hard to find girls that would care about normal humans to the degree Lisa does...I think most people would be like Kelly, not caring about abusing power but not straight up killers either, I think she's the most "normal human" of the group.
As for Lisa, I think she SHOULD help tinies out even if they are afraid of her! Really give her gentleness a chance to shine. Kelly has gotten her time in this story to playfully screw with tinies, Casey has had her chapters of ruthlessly killing tinies. Personally I would like a "Lisa" chapter, that would give her end of the spectrum a chance in the spotlight...
Anyway, I can tell that the story is coming to a climax: this is probably my favorite "in-progress" story on GTSWorld. Keep it up!

I definitely agree on the comment. Lisa is one of a kind, and the truth is that she did not even know how she was before the events of Volume 1. Casey is an outlier too, of course. In her case, she had a mean character to start with, but the fact that she was reduced, experimented on and then locked in a maximum security prison have done nothing to help... as a matter of fact, if it had not been for that experience, Casey would have probably not ended up being the sociopath she has become.
Kelly is definitely the more mainstream girl of all. In her case, having been big before has definitely helped in making her enjoy her new condition right away. She had more doubts in Volume 1, but seeing what happened with her life after being reduced has been all the nudge she needed to start enjoying her new size right after growing.
Of course, Lisa is confused about the situation and for a girl like her, being rejected is not easy. She would have probably ended up trying to help the tiny people anyway, but unfortunately she cannot stop to do that. She knows that she needs to get to Hollner as soon as possible, to help the people there get rid of Casey. I'm afraid that the situation from now until the end of Volume 2 won't have too many moments of break that would allow Lisa to explore her gentlessness too much...
You are right that the story is coming to a climax. There are still a few chapters left and a decent amount of plot to develop, but Volume 2 is heading towards its ending. I'm happy that you are enjoying the story and have such a good opinion about it. I know that not everything in the story is playing out in the way you would have preferred, so the fedback is still more valuable to me. I really appreciate you taking the time to comment each chapter and letting me know what you think. Readers' feedback is probably the only incentive a writer has to write and publish in a site like this one.

I actually figured they would have to make Lisa that big to stop Casey. I think Kelly really is the wildcard here. I love that she's not "evil" but wants to use her power and size. Good set up chapter. Looking forward to the next few. Should be fun!

Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad that you liked the chapter. As you mentioned, it was meant to be a set up for what's coming next. Volume 2 is heading towards its conclusion, but there are still a few chapters and quite a lot of action left!
The scientists at the FSD did not make Lisa bigger because of two reasons. First and most important, because they did not know how to. They gave Lisa exactly the same chemicals they had administered to Kelly and Casey in the past, so the effects of unlocking the growth in her were identical. Second: they really did not mean for Lisa to save the city. They just wanted her to understand more about how the growth worked and potentially find a way to reverse it. It was Lisa's call to head to Hollner to try to stop Casey.
As for what will happen... your hypothesis definitely seem sound... but as usual, I won't reveal in which direction the story will evolve. I believe that there will be at least one thing (potentially a couple) that will be somewhat surprising. You'll tell me in a few weeks!

So it's kind of looking like Kelly is Casey's bitch right now. Now I'm not saying that Kelly wouldn't be screwing with tinies but I don't think she'd be outright killing them if she wasn't scared that Casey would beat her ass otherwise...
And, of course Casey would learn to fight in prison, so Kelly IS at a disadvantage here. I wonder if even Lisa is even going to be able to fight her, I think I rememeber that Lisa knew some form of martial art in the first story, but when she became a wife and mother who knows if she kept up with it?
Things are getting more interesting ever chapter! I can't wait for the next one!

Well, I understand it can look like Kelly is Casey's bitch, but it's not exactly like this. Right now Kelly is very puzzled and trying to figure out the new situation she has found herself in. She knows Casey very well and she is trying to understand the consequences of her presence before she acts or makes any decision. And with Kelly's character, this means that she will play along while she is making her mind up. The situation is quite different, but her reaction is not that different from the one Kelly had in Volume 1, when Casey was gradually getting more violent and Lisa overreacted to it.
Kelly has always been a reflexive person and she won't give her game away until she knows exactly what she will do. Of course, the fact that Casey is violent and skilled at fighting and that Kelly knows that she would probably lose if she fought her is influencing.
As for Lisa... yes, she was a brown belt in jiu-jitsu in Volume 1, but as you are mentioning, she got married and has just had a baby. In the meantime, Casey has had plenty of experience at fighting in a maximum security jail where she was surrounded by scum. Lisa has definitely lost the advantage she had when she subdued Casey at the end of the first story... but you will need to wait a little to find out how much ;P

Kelly really enjoyes her power, but she is not cruel like Casey is. At the moment, Kelly is a little bit puzzled by the situation, but once she gets into using her power to have fun, she lets herself go a little. Casey's attitude will be quite different, as you probably already imagined. As for Lisa: she doesn't know what she will do to stop Kelly and Casey; she just knows she needs to do it, since it's what her conscience tells her to do.

I'm glad Lisa seems horrified at what her former friends have done, it really shows that she won't be killing humans anytime soon. As for Kelly, well even though she's not completely evil, she HAS went out of her way to squish survivors (even though she, herself thought it was unneeded) JUST to show face in front of Casey, so that doesn't speak well of her character.
I think that if she HAD to choose a side, she'd take Casey's, because even though she's a murdering sociopath she'll defend Kelly and her own right to stay as giantesses. I think Kelly has clearly shown that this GTS power has gone to her head and I doubt she'll be willing take Lisa's side, especially now that she has blood on her hands and faces prison or worse if she's returned to normal!
It'll be interesting to see where things go from here. Like you said Kelly IS in the gray area but I'd say she's leaning more towards the evil side...I wonder how this story would have played out if Kelly has kept from killing anyone but still woudn't relent being a GTS. In my mind this scenario could have played out something like this:
Kelly, instead of killing the soldiers who were attacking her, disarms them or runs away. But then Casey shows up, shorly after, a true villan and begins killing them mercylessly. And if Kelly had stepped in to defend the small soldiers who were attacking her before from the REAL monster and ended up looking like a hero in the end, could she have stayed a GTS diplomatically AND kept her hands clean? I don't know, food for thought. That part of the story really was the tipping point...

Of course lisa is horrified. She is not only incapable of killing anyone but, no matter how pissed off she may have got with what the government has done to her and her family, she will always be horrified when someone does. The only thing Lisa wants to do is save the day, as she did back in Henford. And she genuinely wants to do that out of compassion, not because she likes becoming some soft of savior.
As for Kelly... it's true that she has crossed a line (and that the story had a tipping point there). And once she has crossed it, she will do things that she would not have done anyway. But let's keep in mind that she has just been hit with two anti-tank missiles and that they tried to hit her with more than that. And it's not as if she is invulnerable. She has been hurt, even if the consequences have not been that bad. So, she's basically very pissed off and even a little scared. This is what made her cross the line in the first place wehn fighting back with the soldiers. And then... Casey showed up. Far from making her happier, this has only made Kelly more nervous and uncertain about everything. And, after a morning gradually convincing herself that she was over everything and everyone, she suddenly finds herself in a situation with too many unknowns. She's trying to adapt to it and not to look weak. And this has made her do something she would have never expected.
So, Kelly is not gentle. But she is not evil either; at least not in the same way Casey is. And she will not necessarily need to choose Lisa's or Casey's side. Kelly has her own side and she is very convinced that it's the right one, as she told Daphne in the brief conversation they had just before she was attacked. And once she starts calming down and evaluating the situation, she will try to make sure that "her side" is the one prevailing. Power has obviously gone into her head, but even if it's hard to say so after the last couple of chapters, she still keeps some sort of moral compass. You'll see a little more abou this in the coming couple of chapters.
As for the alternative plot you are suggesting: it could have been interesting if the circumstances had been different. But there are two things of the story so far that made it impossible: first, Kelly was never going to surrender or flee from the army. She wants to stay a giantess and she wants to be in charge, so that is not an option. Second: she was attacked and hurt, without any room for negotiation. And, while the attitude of the army can easily be justified by what Kelly has done so far and, moreover, by what she may do in the future, it's not as if they are giving her too many more options than fighting back.
Anyway, I guess that, as always, the interpretation on what happened and what could have happened depends exclusively on the reader. Wow, so it hasnt even been a day since Kelly became a giantess and shes already killing lots of people! And shes associating with Casey? Kelly has crossed that line now...she has blood on her hands: basically shes irredeemable at this point, if she ever returns to normal size shes going to prison or getting the death penalty along with Casey for sure now!
And i have a feeling shes only gonna sink deeper into evil. Right now she was even trying to justify snuffing out people lives but later she'll probably start to think her "goddess" status alone will give her the right to choose who lives and who dies...With Casey as her influence, i see it happening almost for sure...
Great story though, Im stoked to see where you take things from here...Is Lisa gonna be a killer next? Will Kelly regret her actions later? Oooh, i cant wait for the next chapter!

Yes, the truth is that Kelly had not imagined that she would have to do what she has done in this chapter, but... I guess that being hit with a Hellfire missile doesn't do too much to improve anyone's mood. At the beginning of this chapter Kelly is mad for many reasons. On one hand she is mad at having been attacked. The fact that she has actually been hurt is much worse. Over the last few chapters Kelly had become too arrogant and overconfident and having been reminded that she can still feel pain has not been very welcome. And she is also genuinely pissed off at the death of Daphne. She liked her and enjoyed having her around.
The decisive moment has been when she has stood up and the military has shot more missiles at her. Then, she has understood that it was her or them, and pissed off as she was, she has crossed the line. Of course, that means that she will get in trouble if she ever returns to normal size, but in her mind, Kelly does not even consider being small again. And, with the military having shot missiles at her, she has not too many doubts on what their intentions are if she does not fight back.
This doesn't mean that she will necessarily sink into deeper evil. The fact that she has avoided stepping on the few civilians that lay in her path to the military proves that she can still tell the difference between those who are trying to hurt her and those who are helpless. Will she be able to tell this difference for long? Well, the coming chapters are going to take you out of doubts :). Just let me tell you something: Kelly is not like Casey.
And don't worry about Lisa: no matter how pissed off she may get at some of the things that have been done to her, she is incapable of killing on purpose.

I don't see the military winning. Of course last resort is independance day nuking maybe? What about Lisa? This is like a great weekly TV show. At the end you already can't wait for next week. I can't give story enough props. Love it

Yes, it needed to happen. Sooner or later Kelly and Casey had to face some sort of resistance. The fact that they had both showed up by surprise had given them some time of roaming around uncontested, but it was to be expected that the little people would eventually fight back in an organized way.
Of course, things will change from now on. They need to change. Casey's attitude will pretty much be the same, but Kelly had not expected what happened. Still, the fact that she has teamed up with Casey is purely tactical. You'll see how things evolve in the coming chapters. The military will have some tough choices to make...
As for Lisa... she will be back soon.

First of all, thank you very much for the praise to the series. I'm happy that you are enjoying it so much. I hope that the rest won't disappoint you and that by the end of Volume 2 you will keep the same opinion about Side Effects.
I'm planning to keep posting a chapter per week, as I've been doing. The story is written already, but I proofread and edit each chapter before posting. Since chapters are rather long, I can normally handle one per week. The coming couple of months are going to be busy on my side, but I'll try to keep the same cadence.
You won't need to wait too long to see what will happen when the girls meet again. Of course, things will be different than in Volume 1. As for what can stop them (if anything)... you'll need to wait a little more to see where the story is going. There are still a couple of twists in the plot; I believe that you'll especially like the last one...
Please, keep letting me know what you think. I'm still going on through possibilities about Volume 3, so feedback is always welcome and helpful.

I like how even though Kelly toys with some people for her own amusement she still allowed Daphne her fantasy which was very cool. The elevator scene was a trip and executed very well.
I just thought of a neat scenario: When Kelly gets shot in the stomach(by what I'm assuming was a tank) Daphne falls to her death and Kelly is shaken by this. Of course she's mad they had the gall to shoot her but as a result poor innocent Daphne was killed. I hope this would be the reason that sends Kelly into a blind rage. She'll then take perverse pleasure in crushing the army/police in any way she sees fit.(could also capture a few to use for her pleasure later)
I like how the situation with Lisa and Ron has progressed. I wonder why she isn't frantic about her baby yet? I understand that she cares a great deal for her husband and wants to see him asap but I'm a little confused as to why she hasn't even asked about her baby. Also I think it would be neat if her husband(forgot his name) when brought out to her was all bruised and bleeding from wounds on his face and he's handcuffed.(just cause I wanna see her reaction but also cause I'd like to see how Ron reacts)
I don't know if it will happen but I'd still like to see Casey get her hands(or fingers) on her ex-boyfriend Kevin.
Great chapter and I'm looking forward to see what happens next.

PS since that facility housing Lisa is so giant, does that mean she could get bigger?(I honestly don't want her to because I feel the ladies are the perfect size. I'm just curious.)

Thanks! I was pretty happy with how the elevator scene came out, honestly. Kelly is like this: she will use the city and its people to have fun without inhibitions, but she is not cruel. Making the woman's fantasy a reality also played to her advantage, so in this case it was some sort of win-win.
Kelly will definitely not be happy about having been shot (quick preview on next chapter: it was not a tank but a missile shot by an helicopter), and the loss of Daphne will definitely contribute to her unhappiness. For the first time Kelly has been challenged for real, by an enemy that has managed to hurt her, and so, she will be forced to react.
Somewhere else, Lisa is definitely upset and worried about her husband and her baby. She wants to see Joe, but she is a little wary of having Stella seeing her in her current status. That's the reason she asks for him, initially. I'm afraid that the government has reached the peak of their stupidity, so far, so they won't be doing anything in the short term to piss her off even more.
Keep tuned for the next couple of chapters: Casey in the city (finally) and Kelly dealing with the army.

Well, i am too enjoy Kelly is/was having the day of her life, wonder what happen to Casey since she left prision, is she even close to the city? or is she enjoying other city?
And i don't know how wise shooting Kelly is, last time they tried to kill her she only grew, maybe she will grow more this time? ;)

Well, I've definitely enjoyed writing about Kelly having the time of her life. Of course, things will need to change somewhat now that she has been attacked.
As for Casey, she is about to get into the city. In Chapter 13, when she "enjoyed" with the bus, she was already at the gates of Holler, so you will see her in the city soon enough. And of course, once she gets there, she will be noticed.
As for what will happen to Kelly after being shot... well, you will just need to wait for her next chapter :)
