I kind of like this story for some reason, despite it being overly violent. Something about a girl who is really gentle being forced to kill people of her village has a certain allure to it.

Shit, I missed the thread in which this story came about. I'm too lazy to start archive-hopping, you have the link on you?
Anyway, this was a pretty decent set up. However, it is to my knowledge that you completely misunderstand the usage of the phrase "Ara ara", as stated by the samurai (whose disposition doesn't really correspond at all with traditional warriors of glorious nihongo). Unless its misuse was intentional, I suggest getting a bit more familiar with the phrase before putting it to use. Right now, it sticks out like a sore thumb.

Look, I need SOMETHING for him to say. I know it's an 'oh my' but I really couldn't find an expression that DOES fit this. I didn't find one.
