Well he's alive! Granted he could be in far better shape. No telling what he's been through to get this far.

Nice chapter and good detail as always
It seems Jacob is taking Sander’s place as our fish out of water character that isn’t as extreme as his cohorts.
And I figured there were multiple factions of shrunken humans. The society probably broadly labels them as resistance. No need to diffieretiate ants.

Let me guess: they're mad at him for thinking like a pacifistic civilian rather than a blood-and-guts warrior.

Brutal opening but it does go a ways to establish the Resistance as a threat, important since they often looked helpless against sword/shield in the first act. Still no sight of Saunders (dead or alive) which is probably the best way to keep us hooked. I will admit it will be a little weird if we’re following a complete new set of protagonists for awhile though.
Author's Response:
Indeed, the Resistance CAN be dangerous and I wanted to make that obvious from the start. They are a threat no matter how dismissive the Society is of them.
As for the new guys, well I hope they grow on you and it doesn't feel too weird to be following them

Whoa! That was a bleak opener. :-(
Author's Response:
Just fair warning, this is going to be a rather bleak Act. There is a reason I picked Last of Us as a theme for this act.

That was an awesome chapter! I'm really glad this story is back! It really goes to show just how high and mighty the giantess's think they are; they don't even take into consideration the fact that they can be killed too! I feel like if it were just tiny rangers, they wouldn't have fallen for the trap because they'd be on alert.
But those bumbling gts's feel too safe in their own massive skins and have too many fancy gadgets that they didn't use their own brains and fell for it! In all honesty, I was hoping to find out what happened to Sanders but I know your writting style, you love to draw out the cliffhangers as much as possible by switching to other perspectives or characters.
Oh well, I hope you get around to showing us what happened to him. Anyway, welcome back, I'm glad your starting the next part to this!
Author's Response:
Indeed, pride comes before the fall. And kill it with fire is always a good fall back option.
As for Sanders, well lets hope his luck hasn't run out yet.

Welcome back. This is off to a good start. It'll be good to get a closer look at the Resistance, and to learn about some new Society characters.
Author's Response:
Thanks, but we won't be seeing much of the Society in this act. They had their turn in the lime light and now we are going to focus on the Resistance.

Oh My God

Yay you’re back!
So the Society is taking a more aggressive attitude toward the Resistance? Well that isn’t good, the swords had questionable practices before but now they might be given even less restrictions in how they do things. With the society probably stepping up its propaganda campaign it’s expected the citizens would want war. The Resistance might have unknowingly sparked that war by roasting those Society members.
Good starting chapter. Guess we'll be seeing things now through Resistance eyes.
Author's Response:
The war was already well on its way to happening. If anything, Darius, Derek, and co just speed up an inevitable problem.
And indeed, this Act will be focused around the Resistance.
