I was going to comment after the last chapter, but I'm glad I waited.
I like to immerse myself into stories; put myself in the lead character's shoes. So I felt the worry and anger that the main character was probably feeling. And the shock that his mother didn't seem to be worried about the daughter's resistance to her "betrothal".
There appear to be some issues that Sandra and the Narrator need to work out. Despite the hate sex, will they? Or are his concerns brushed aside so casually? I guess I'm still trying to wrap my head around how the sexes relate to eachother. Are men really just toys, and are treated as such? Are their opinions still taken into consideration? Your other stories took place during and just after the BOS, so there was still alot of "equality" in the relations. Probably a hold over from before.
This is the first time I've heard about any kind of telepathic link. Is that a one way connection?

I think the mother assumes the daughter is just going through a phase, familiar to those who have teenage sisters, daughters, etc. and will be OK in ten minutes once things settle down. There is also a lot of self-deception from Mom, a lot of trying to convince herself she's doing the right thing, even to the point of writing "wedding vows."
"Hate sex" can often relieve tension. I can't say they'll become a permanent couple but it may allow Mike to reconcile to this situation while he tries to pivot toward something better, using women as leverage, as of course he must.
Toy is as much a metaphor as reality. It's an archetype that Mike can use to define his manhood. Toys may not account for much in terms of size or authority, but they can give women a lot of pleasure. Giving them personalities in Mike's mind makes them sort of his "bros." Telepathy has popped up in other ROS settings to varying degrees. The Goddess has appeared to men and women in ROS stories such as "A World of Breasts and Buttocks."
This is set right after the ROS, although the author is narrating from 20+ years later to his grown (about to be shrunk) son. At this point they are still trying to wrap their heads around the relationships between sexes. There is a wide range of treatment, although the Goddess bans outright violence or abuse. She allows for some variation. Remember Sandra knows Mike's mom, so she has some incentive to be kind. Plus she wants him to be reasonably intact, physically and mentally, for her daughter someday.
I think the key at this early time after ROS is instability, evolving to stability, not equality evolving to inferiority. Men have power in different ways than before, as women have power in different ways. Mike's in a situation analogous to many women who were forced into arranged marriages, and who might have had sexual pleasure with someone they might not have chosen on their own. As a fan of this series, I'm a little confused by the way you present life for young men in the post-balancing world. In your previous stories it seemed that you took great pains to ensure love matches between the sexes and the Goddess encouraged it and tried fix potential problems. So I'm a little troubled by parents giving their son away to a middle age woman to be used as a sex toy. Is this common in the world that you envision?

Great question! As you have seen in some of the stories, there is also great confusion after the Rebalancing, even chaos, as women and even gangs of women take men for their pleasure. (Remember the first chapter of "A World of Breasts and Buttocks" or the street scene in "Fear of Commitment"?) Mike's mom, which we haven't introduced, was concerned about throwing her son into that chaos and so she arranged a mother-daughter situation. Perhaps she just wasn't comfortable with Mike making his way in this world, which is still new when Mike is 18. Sandra would use Mike until the daughter was mature enough for a boyfriend. Of course, we haven't introduced the daughter yet, and she may still say no to the whole thing! In which case, Sandra (the mature woman) would be responsible for a solution. This is not meant to be Mike's lifetime relationship, just a situation where he can learn giving pleasure to a woman and then be ready for his life partner. Think of Sandra as a teacher or mentor. As you will see, she can be quite gentle.
Mike also needs, as did the man caught by Amber's mom in AWBB, and indeed all men, to psychologically adjust to being small. There are male archetypes that could be used to describe his situation. Just as king, warrior, magician and lover could be used to describe men in the big world before ROS, one could use words such as explorer, pet, or toy to describe men's roles post ROS. Mike needs to adopt a new way of seeing himself and the talking sex toys are a vehicle to help him accomplish that. By making the toys sentient and helping him find bonds of brotherhood and friendship with the toys, the Goddess of Love is giving Mike a sort of psychodrama version of high school/college to work things out in his head. By seeing them as beings worthy of respect, Mike is coming to see what they do, in terms of existing to give pleasure to a woman, as an endeavor worthy of respect and seeing his life as having a noble purpose. I like this. The speaker writing to Jason does a nice job re-establishing your fictional universe in the context of rights and how the world sees men. The greeting card was a nice touch, and I enjoyed the semi-humorous but still pathetic exchange between your protagonist and the sex toys. Well done.
