Man, I can't believe she'd treat him that way, does nobody have any compassion for this guy? Anyway, isn't he supposed to get like super rich or something? Once he gets that maybe he could hire someone to be a bodyguard, I think most people would respect someone with money, regardless of their size.

You can think of this as a snowball effect, rolling getting larger and larger. I haven't forgotten about the initial wish, Dana is going to do it in the most roundabout way possible. Most of the way people treat him can be atributed to her tweeks she made in his life and making sure it's as hard as possible because . .she's a devil.

Very well done I enjoyed Miss Taylor and the way she took control. A kid would see things differently than an adult. Dr. Penne was awesome. The measuring, the weighing, and the inspecting were all great. I thought she might have tested his blood. Very well written by the way. He has no choice but to depend on the kindness of everyone. I would think a few more yes Ma'ams are in order to diffuse potential situations.

Glad to see this story continued. I am rereading it.. When he is talking to Candace he originally addresses her as Ms . Candace or Miss Candace (can't remember) and answers her with yes ma'am . Should t he always answer her this way?

Ack! That was an oversight on my part, I forgot to add that he had a very sarcastic inflection in the first chapter when he refered to Candace as m'am. Normally he doesn't use any honorifics when referring to Candace, and when he does it tends to be with a dose of snark.

Maybe, maybe not! But, we're reaching a point where Matthew can no longer ignore his shrinking or shrug off what's been happening and now it's hit home how challenging normal life would be for him now. His mistrust for Dana has left him wondering about what the doctor said. Shit's going to get a lot weirder for Matthew soon.

Thanks, we're just about at the point where things are going to get drastically worse as Matthew shrinks, so there will definitely be more moments with Candace involved. As of the end of this chapter 5 I have his height at 4'0. Right now I just want him to have some moments with the main characters since right now he still has moderate sovereignty over his life. As he continues to lose height and things spiral way beyond his control he'll have some far more interesting interactions with people.

In all due respect, the first words that came to my mind were, "This man is a bonafide idiot." They haven't left me all the way to chapter 6. I'm sure this is a purposeful plot point. I like his situation, but I wish he would realize that if people aren't noticing, then it has to mean something, and he should ask about it, or at least figure it out. It really drew me thin to see someone so clueless and foolish.

I hear ya, his naivette and overall dimwitedness to the realization he's in over his head is a major downfall of his. But mainly, he's writing it off as Dana's doing (also denial) and doesn't comprehend how people are really perceiving his loss of height.
