A wonderful, truly mythical conclusion to the saga. What makes these stories unique is that they feel like REAL fiction, something you'd pay to read, but, thankfully, don't have to. I would certainly enjoy more such tales (perhaps set at different eras in history?), but, in any case, well done! The final verses were perfect.

Author's Response:

Thanks, Malaka. I hadn't considered doing stories in other eras of history. This series sprang from my love of Arthurian legend and I don't have quite the same fondness for other time periods. Then again, there were various versions of the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (which inspired these stories) so who knows? It might be worth considering.

ps how/why did the 'holy grail' water work for nimue? i thought that it has to be drank from the actual cup/grail?

Author's Response:

The waters had been blessed by the Grail and retained some of its power. You know how in vampire fiction people carry around vials of holy water, which still work even after being removed from the church or altar where it was blessed? Same principle. Might be bending the rules a bit but I didn't want to contradict the Grail's ultimate fate of being carried off by Galahad in the original legends.

Even on a second reading, that last line is no less ominous.

But, the question is: did he pass his test in time? :-(

You're right, Sir P. Most myths have a seed of truth at their root. So, I've no doubt that, once upon a time, there was a Brythonic Celt named Arthur who united his people against some common enemy. Whether it was the Romans, the Saxons, or both, will probably never be known for certain. In any case, your background research into Arthurian folklore is as impeccable as ever. And, so is the plausibility of most of your characters' reactions (fairy tale elements aside).

:-)

Author's Response:

Thanks, Cary. This is by no means an accurate depiction of 6th century Britain (even excusing the tiny people). But I do try to include historical details to add flavor. I agree with you that there was likely a real person called Arthur who fought the Saxons and was immortalized in legend.

great chapter. an the angland part was interesting. if this story is good now i cant imagine what will happen when/if they actually do get the grail... great job. an keep it up.

aaron

Author's Response:

Glad you liked the Angland part. It's fun mixing history and fantasy in these stories. The English people of today are descended from the Anglo-Saxons so I was trying to foreshadow that.

Yay, another tale in my favorite series! Could this turn into the League's biggest adventure yet? It certainly looks ike it. I can't wait to see if they'll all make it through the trials in one piece.

Just typed 'sir pixis' in yahoo search engine.

This chapter was excellent. Loved the maidens that hop encountered, the descriptions an the whole challenges thing is pretty cool. An I liked the fact that the one human girl is gonna escort them(except hop) to the challenges.
All an all this was a very good chapter an this maybe my favorite league story yet.
My question is since the other leaguers stayed together, will their challenges be together or separately?
Can't wait for more because I'm loving the pace an the sexuallity that is more prevalent in this story than the others.

Aaron
Ps loved the fact that you seem to be describing the ladies feet an toes more.

Author's Response:

Glad you're enjoying the story. The other Leaguers will face their challenges separately. You'll see how that works next chapter. As for the feet descriptions, I wouldn't consider myself a foot guy but hanging around this community has given me more appreciation for that part of a lady at least.

sorry, but this isnt pertaining To the story. just wanted to ask if its true that there will be a book/novel by you called 'tale of sir pixis'?
if so when would said endeavor be ready for purchase?

aaron

Author's Response:

Well, there was going to be at one time but the publisher experienced financial problems. Not sure if it will ever see print. How did you find out about that?

Also, what did you think of the new chapter?

It would seem Hop's test was one of willpower. Specifically; would he let his libido overrule his loyalty to his friends? Great concept, Sir Pix!

I have a feeling this is going to be your best one yet, dude. Although, I must confess: I thought the knight with the red apple tunic was going to be called "Sir William of Gates" (or something equivalent, thereto).

;-)

Author's Response:

Heh. Not sure the Fourth Wall could withstand an assault like that. In this case, Pelleas' tunic is the symbol of Avalon, the Isle of Apples.

sorry but the ending instantly made me think of 'the wizard of oz'... lol.(eventhough, i know its so they wont get lost)
that aside, i love this new league book. an the fact that they're still guinevere's personal servants was pretty cool, but i can understand why they want to seek out the grail.(although i love to stay with lovely guinevere and her feet, lol)

aaron

Author's Response:

Glad you like the story so far. The Guinevere scenes are fun to write. The League see themselves as warriors and heroes but the queen still just thinks of them as pets.
