Wow! One of my favorite stories on this site! I enjoyed it greatly and reread it because it's such a good story. A late review yes, but I hope a sequel comes out!

This is a good first story. My suggestion would be to work on establishing each person's character. The idea is that the reader should arrive at a conclusion without the author needing to spell it out. The reader should say "Oh yeah, I could see him/her doing that." This will make your plot and characters actions much stronger and more significant :)
