Isn't that always the way? The one teacher who you wouldn't mind preying upon you is the only one that doesn't. Still, it's nice to have a some validation from a different perspective, someone without an ulterior motive. I mean, how could anyone who looks so angelic harbor any mischievous thoughts?
Author's Response: Hehe. Luckily for Peter, I've given him so many potential enemies in this story, I'm not quite jumping to turn everyone he meets into a predator.

Happy to see Suzanne opened her eyes on her son reality. Now it'd be better if Peter tell her about Sharon's truth. But it won't happen , right? lol
Author's Response:
Peter has too much to lose if Suzanne becomes nervous about Sharon too.

Way to go, Peter! :-)
If only all mothers in _real life_ were willing to take "no" (or, in cases like this, "yes") as an unchangeable answer.
Author's Response:
Now that would be nice.

Suzanne's reaction is less surprising than the logical conclusion of the long-term parenting that any parent of a "special needs" child would have to engage in. What is more surprising is that both Suzanne and Erica have independently realized that Peter's safety is best served by bolstering his inner resources. They see that hyper-awareness of how dangerous the world can be—something they previously thought was a necessary survival trait—is forcing Peter into a permanent flinch. They recognize that there is an absolute limit to their ability to safeguard Peter physically, and that Peter needs to feel safe. Whether it is developing his own physical resources (as Erica proposed) or simply taking ownership of the decision to attend school (as Suzanne admitted), a bit of bravado will be necessary for Peter to find his own path.
Unfortunately, I hope suspect Sharon is clever enough to make the same realization and exploit it.
Author's Response:
Yes, Erica and Suzanne are actually becoming a little more of the same mind on Peter's safety as this story progresses, though Suzanne is definitely the much more precarious of the two. And with every encounter, Sharon is gathering a little more information about how Peter and his power dynamics tick.

Not as overprotective crazy as I expected from Suzanne. She was actually fairly reasonable, all things considered. I guess the reality of her little boy growing up finally got through to her.
Author's Response:
She's slowly but surely coming to grips with the reality of her kid growing up.

I agree with Carycomic, Amy stepped on Kimmy's foot. Now let's see what will happen with paranoid Suzanne.
Author's Response:
She won't react very positively, for sure.

I was just thinking about this story the other day. It is most definatly one of my favorites! Im so glad to see another chapter apear on this site. Keep up the amazing work!
Author's Response:
Thanks much. There will be some more of this story soon.
Date: May 23 2016 6:57 PM Title: Chapter 49: Field Trip
Oh oh! Suzanne about to go mother bear on those brats!
Author's Response:
Or at least Kimmy.
Date: May 23 2016 6:14 PM Title: Chapter 1: Separation Anxiety
About time, I've been waiting.
Author's Response:
Sounds like a lot of people have.
Date: May 23 2016 9:14 AM Title: Chapter 49: Field Trip
Yeah, having Suzanne on hand (heh) to observe Peter interacting with students (and teachers, Ms. Watson) brings new possibilities for intrigue, but Sharon's smart enough not to overplay her hand (heh heh) and provoke Suzanne to yank Peter out of school. Nor does Sharon need any help at all controlling Amy and Kimmy. If there's anyone whose care with Peter that Sharon would like to impugn in Suzanne's eyes, it's Lisa.
Either way, I'm very happy to imagine Sharon's chilly fingers enclosing Peter while he implores aid from her chiller gaze. Anything's better than being stuck at home, right Peter?
Author's Response:
Sharon's indeed pulling a couple of strings at all times. Peter's willing to put up with a lot to go to school, but there are times when he probably questions where he'd rather be.

OOOOOOH! Now, there's a plot-twist I didn't see coming.
First off; welcome back. I was beginning to fear you might've gotten one of those writer's blocks that appear to be erosion-proof! Something I can empathize with, believe me.
Secondly; I'm pretty sure Kimmy was right. Amy _did_ step on her foot, deliberately! But, the question is, did she do so on her own...or at Sharon's non-verbal bidding? And, if the latter, I have to wonder if she did it to get on Suzanne's good side.
If so, that's a pretty risky move. Because, for one thing, it might result in Suzanne demanding that Kimmy be disowned by the other two-thirds of the trio (as in, permanently kicked out of it). Which, in turn, might give Peter and Lisa a potential ally of convenience when the eventual show-down comes around for these two factions.
Sorry if I'm over-thinking ahead. I tend to do that with good stories that I get emotionally involved in. And, at the risk of belaboring the obvious?
This is a VERY good story! :-)
Author's Response:
Thanks very much. I don't want to spoil, but I'll say that you're onto something with at least a couple of your considerations.

As unlikely as, say, the posting of chapter 49?
Author's Response:
I have a bit of chapter 49 written. I'm trying to get closer to finishing some of my other ongoing stories before I continue this one.
Date: April 11 2016 5:18 AM Title: Chapter 48: Limber Up
This is a lovely concept and I see great potential here. I love Peter and Lisa's relationship though I still believe that, storywise, the really important thing is his relationships with his family. So keep at it, my good fellow. This story is very entertaining. I'm looking forward to see new chapters!
Author's Response:
Glad you're enjoying the story.
Date: March 22 2016 7:15 PM Title: Chapter 1: Separation Anxiety
Please continue this series, it was one of my favorite ones on this site!
Author's Response:
I will at some point. This story is my longest running and tends to get updated in bursts followed by a hiatus.
Date: February 19 2016 8:03 AM Title: Chapter 1: Separation Anxiety
Please continue
Author's Response:
I plan to eventually. Life's been too busy lately.
Date: January 31 2016 9:47 AM Title: Chapter 48: Limber Up
Maybe Erica is the scholastic equivalent of a cougar who likes to go "slumming."
Of course, only the next chapter will answer that question, pro or con (HINT-HINT)!
Author's Response:
I guess anything's possible, though probably not quite likely.
Date: November 30 2015 8:23 PM Title: Chapter 48: Limber Up
Nice chapter.. Like him being in the teachers hand. And for a long time. Blue seems nice. Things are going so well that something will change that. Nice job.
Later,
Diesel
Author's Response:
Thanks for reviewing!

@FreemanCD: Cal is on my short list of unlikely suspects (as the Phantom Pete-napper) because he might actually be Erica's new boyfriend! And, if he has the mindless hots for her, he might be willing to do anything for her. Even aid and abet in scaring Pete out of public school!
Author's Response:
Hehe. Maybe a liiiittle bit of a stretch, since Calvin is not only 2 years younger than Erica but probably a little too uncool for her.
Date: November 29 2015 7:01 PM Title: Chapter 47: Sweating It
My favorite chapter yet. Can you do some more of Ms. Watson unaware stuff??
Author's Response:
It's possible, though there isn't a huge focus on unaware in this story.

I don't know... maybe it's her name, or maybe it's her all too cheery attitude, or maybe it's that she's taking space from Lisa, Sharon, Mandy, Erica and Calvin, whom I like all of, but for some reason I'm not quite sure of, I don't like Bluebell.
Author's Response:
I guess we can't be sure for now. For Peter's sake, though, it would be lucky if your hunch is incorrect.
