Well it's ok, although some bits were a little rushed. I think it woudl be better ot extend it but at the same time split it into sperate chapters depending on the scene.
Also, this: "Anything miniaturized would have its atoms reduced in size" is not strictly true. I'm pretty sure everything in his body would be shrunk in proportion to everything else and not being able to breath would not be an issue as he would just end up breathing less air as a result because his body is smaller, therefore the blood vessels are short and so the red blood cells have to travel less around the body. After all, if they way oyu explained things where true, insects and bacteria would die because they are tiny.
I'm not saying you sohuld chnage anything but it does seem a little odd.

Actually, you misunderstood what I was saying. Since all of the atoms of Nick's body had been miniaturized, the professor was worried that Nick would need to breathe air molecules that were reduced to the same scale he was. Insects and bacteria aren't composed of miniaturized atoms, so they wouldn't need shrunken air molecules.
