Ahem! Sorry. I's just that I'm so glad to see this finally revived! If there's one thing I can call a pet peeve, it's engrossing fanfic stories of one kind or another--stories that have earned my readership and respect--being left permanently unfinished.

Really glad that you're continuing this story. For the time you were away from it I figured it was on permanent hiatus. I'm happy to see that I was wrong. Really digging the chemistry between Nell and Daniel, as well as the detail and drama that goes into each growth spurt. Puts me on the edge with anticipation for the next one coming. Hoping to read more soon. Keep up the good work!

Yeah, I know what you mean: I too have been waiting for what seems like an eternity for the next chapter of Now and Then. But I also know that when you force yourself to write something, the results usually pale in comparison to true inspiration. So I often wait until I actually know what I want to write before I'm writing.
The good news is I have an idea of where I'm going for the next chapter!

Author's Response: Yeah, part of the reason for the delay was a bit of worry about whether I could maintain the characters and whatnot, even as the plot moved forward. I'm glad this is staying consistent, and that you're enjoying it!

I love this tale so far! It takes its time in detailing the characters, and, judging by the length of your chapters, it looks as if there's lots more to come.
PS: Hope Nell doesn't turn all 'violent and cruel giantess' when she reaches mega size.
Author's Response: Yeah, there should definitely be more to come. Nell would probably need a pretty good reason to go violent, as it's not really in her nature.

Author's Response: Yeah, the growth is incredibly slow right now, but obviously to get to mega without taking forever and a day, it will speed up at some point soon. Bill is around 6'3" - 6'4", he's a big guy.

wow yet another incredible chapter. Ending kinda reminded me of 'attack of the 50ft woman' growth scene. Its really interesting an believable, well done.
Also loved the part where Nell is daydreaming about being giant looking down at the tiny 'doll' sized mansion. But most of all I love Nell's attitude an the fact the she has a kind heart. But most importantly she's not the prototypical spoiled rich kid.
Can't wait for the next chapter.

Author's Response: Thanks Aaron. Yeah, I'm trying to make Nell deviate from the norm - she's more sheltered than spoiled, and I think that should evolve in interesting ways as she grows.
Winston is, indeed, the house's only butler. He and Lenette have been Nell's primary caretakers for most of her life.
Finally, expect more with the dollhouse, I'm making that something of a running theme.

I'm really enjoying this story! The characters are sharply defined, and act like real people. Nell is a likeable protagonist (all too rare in this genre), and you've done a good job of establishing her relationships with the rest of the cast. I can't wait to see how these dynamics shift as she continues to grow.
I also like the way you've handled the technobabble. Some authors simply handwave the technology (I'm guilty of that), while others go into infodump mode and provide way more details than the reader needs. You've hit a good balance, keeping it accessible while giving just enough detail to keep it plausible.
My hat's off to any writer on these boards that tries to tell an actual story, and you're definitely one of the best. Eagerly awaiting the next installment!!!

Author's Response: Thanks, Cayce! I'm on the record as someone who really admires both Homunculus and Now and Then (speaking of which, any updates for that last one on the horizon?) so what you've said means a lot to me.
The technobabble is mostly there because it's plot-crucial for how Nell grows over the course of the story, and what Daniel and her father will need to do to try and stop it. Working it in can be difficult for the best of us authors (previously, I've usually just included it in a prologue and left it there), but I feel like it can add something -- sometimes.
