I´ve really been looking forward towards the continuation of this story for a while now and it turned out even better than I could have ever imagined.
I think these two parts might be my new favorite of yours, I absolutely loved it.
The setting works perfectly, I haven´t read anything quite like it. Alessia, who appeared, at least from Stefans perspective, as this callous monster devouring dozens of tinies without a second thought in the original story, now showing this affectionate side for her old friend, and trying her best to take care of him, while sometimes clumsily failing not to remind Stefan of his trauma of almost being eaten by her.
I for example loved how she almost eats a shrinkie without thinking about it in the beginning, or how she tells him that she would never eat him and then accidentaly burps in his face :D
It´s so well done how she switches from being this caring old friend to a giantess devouring dozens of people.
It´s just great to have a character that really doesnt see anything wrong with eating shrinkies, trying to be as respectful and careful as possible, for her friend, but forced in a situation where she still needs to eat tinies to keep up appearances, while her body is constantly and awkwardly reminding Stefan of the shrinkies she ate.
This tension of her trying to tread lightly and him still having to experience these awful things form a shrinkies perspective, like how his friend devours dozens of shrinkies , and having to listen how they digest with a front row seat, drives the story so well.
Suddenly Alessia, who would have never cared, thinks about how it must feel for Stefan when she goes to the toilet to get rid of last night shrinkies. It´s so interesting how she suddenly thinks about some issues, she would have never otherwise.
I love when the giantess thinks about the shrinkies during the digestion and also the next day and you found a great way of having Alessia contemplating these things , while not being a sadist like Tanja and also making it work in the universe where people don´t usually think about shrinkies because they are just food.
Great writing in general, as always, loved the Tanja cameo, enjoyed the rest of the family, everything really superb.
I often looked whether a new story of yours has dropped and believe me how happy I was when I saw that you released two stories. Made me very happy, thank your for your effort, a lot of work and thought must have gone into this.
Grandiose Geschichte, bin gespannt wie es weitergeht :)
Author's Response:
Thank you so much! I am really happy that the story is being received so well. I knew that the expectations were high, and was anxious whether I could meet them, so to hear that I exceeded them is music to my ears! ;)
Yeah, the special dynamic between Alessia and Stefan was a lot of fun to write. Not always easy, I have to admit, but there's a particular appeal to this duality in a pred that I find fascinating to explore.
Alessia was one of the better characters to put into this situation. A high-achieving, well-adjusted and just overall nice girl (in the context of her world) who simply treats shrinkies the way we would treat a peanut, only to find one of her closest friends has been turned into a "peanut". It really just helps the overall mood whiplash and awkwardness between them. They both try their best, but as it’s put, it's like a friendship between a seal and a shark. And it makes Alessia think of all sorts of things that she wouldn't even have considered before.
Tanja's appearance was a lot of fun to write, I think I wrote that whole scene in one sitting. Especially after writing Alessia's (all too human) mental compartmentalisation and self-justifications, Tanja's cheerful nihilism and overtly villainous behaviour were very cathartic, lol.
Vielen Dank nochmal für deinen ausführlichen Kommentar und die gute Bewertung! Es wird auf jeden Fall weitere Geschichten über Stefan und sein neues, gefährliches Leben als Shrinkie bei den Santoros geben! ;)
