Well, it was certainly an eventful chapter.
It was already clear from the beginning, but Maisie is a real mess. And while it's clear there are reasons why she's acting this way, I really hope she gets some righteous karma for the way she's treating her little, now-former friend, and that this opens the door to at least something resembling a redemption arc for her.
At the same time, however, the idea of a nearsighted Tiny who's even more dependent on his giant master is just too fascinating not to want to see it explored further. As usual, you're really good at thinking outside the box.
I also hope what happened to her daughter makes Val reconsider her views on the Yunwis. Despite her first impression as a character being among the worst possible, she's clearly a mother who cares deeply for her daughter.
Livy seems to be a great influence in Thorns' life, and she shows me that their inevitable romance is progressing well, as is her critical spirit towards more negative examples, like Maisie's.
Regarding the witch story, it seems clear that something is happening in town, or maybe it always has been, but our protagonists are only now realizing it, and I can't wait to learn more.
Great work as usual, this series remains one of my favorites on the site.
Author's Response:
Yeah, it was great getting all these characters together again. They hadn’t all seen each other since chapter 1, back when most of them were still human.
Maisie has it pretty rough, thus Marbles gets it even rougher. It will be interesting to see how she develops from here, whether she gets that karma or not.
Quinn’s near-sightedness is very fun to play with, especially as someone who used to suffer from it myself. I can’t imagine what living life without glasses would have been like, especially at two inches tall (I’d miss out on seeing all the giant women!). I’m looking forward to exploring that further too. ^^
Val’s opinions on Yunwi are kinda complex. Or maybe she’s just a hypocrite. XD She certainly cares for her daughter, at least more than she does other Yunwi, though you’ll get to see a bit more on that front next chapter.
Livvy really has been a positive influence on Rose. Her life really seems to be turning around ever since he shrunk. And yeah, Maisie not be as great a friend as she’s cracked up to be. Fortunately, Rose is pretty stubborn, so she isn’t going fall to her ways that easily.
Thank you for reading, and for the high praise! I’m glad you’re enjoying the story and hope you look forward to more.

When I first heard about Livy's mother, I honestly thought she'd turn out to be a cold and unloving woman. She might have dismissed what happened as her son's "failure," and perhaps even sold her father because he was "no more useful." I even thought he was Maisie's Yunwi. The truth, however... in some way, is both better and worse.
Excellent work, as always, in surprising your readers.
Author's Response:
Those expectations are pretty fair given how vague Olly was about why he doesn't get along with his mother. I'm glad my subversion worked lol. I wanted to veer away at the obvious (Miranda being a cruel bitch) and explore a different avenue for bad parental relationship that only works in this setting: Miranda being so detached from her husband and son's deaths because they aren't really dead. It's quite a rough situation for Olly, especially since his mother doesn't seem to recognize it that way.
Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts!

I mean I get where he’s coming from but at the same time he’s one of those stupid people that does stuff without thinking. Once he got outside, hows he gonna protect himself from the number of things that wouldn’t hesitate to eat him? Or the fact that any friends on family likely stays miles away and at that size it would take him a couple days just to get anywhere without dying.
Author's Response:
Olly's thrown into a desperate situation with no real options, so yeah, that leads to him taking big risks. His choices are stay in the terrarium and die under the heat lamp, or escape from Rose's apartment and hope for the best. Is it the most well thought out plan? Obviously not, but if he had a better option, he would've taken it lol.

"What could go wrong with pushing my victim on some train tracks like a villain in a 19th century Western movie!"
Really enjoy the story so far. Brash, muscular giant and nerdy tiny is a great dynamic. Especially when the giant is trying (and often failing) to handle them with care. Great world-building and intriguing cliffhanger with Lyra!
Author's Response:
Haha! Thank you! I'm glad to hear you're liking it. I have plenty more of that dynamic in store, and hopefully Lyra's misadventures will prove enjoyable as well.

Wow, story progressing at a very good pace.
now Olly will have a company I guess.
Moreover, that 'Rose putting Olly in her mouth' was the best scene so far. I hope you will add more such scenes in the next chapter.
Author's Response:
Thank you! Yeah, Olly ain't getting away from Rose anytime soon. I like mouthplay too, so there will surely be more. Not in the next chapter though, but more eventually.
