I know nothing about Descendants but I love this concept. Great opening chapter. Mal seems very mischievous and fun. One minor gripe - isn't Maleficent a fairy as well? She seemed to be some sort of human-sized fay in the live action movies.
I didn't see any issues with the italicized thoughts but you did leave "(Your Name)" in place of Tinker once.

Good point. Because the movies(which I really only remember the first one well) emphasized the dragon/lizard aspect of Maleficent I got it mixed up in my head. Thank you for pointing that out.
I appreciate the feedback. That's what I'm going for mischevious/fun but with some heart to her as she begins her arc.
