The chase of a giantess after a very capable prey can be very thrilling and engaging. We all know that Silvia is not only far larger than Pierre but far more magically capable yet she let him dig deep and use every ounce of his power, ingeniouoty and physical capabilities to resist. In a way she's going easy on him but in another shes dragging out his torment by extending hope. She also built an emotional connection with him by talking to him while he still thought he had a chance. It was more gold from you for sure. I think its tough to write a character like Silvia whos both cruel and yet understanding of Pierre's plight and desparation. I don't think it would be out of the realm to her to decide to claim Pierre like Hinba did Thomas just purely out of affection for his will and thinking hes cute. It could also be that she just going to eat him but since she doesn't resent him in aby way shes trying to give him a bit of comfort befor the end. Its a perfect self contained story that lets the reader decide what they think or hope happens. Avoided cliches and was true to the genre while being original too
