Funny story and one that I've not shared. I was sad to see the stories unfinished, so I found him on deviantart and messaged him to see if he would allow me to finish it. To my surprise, he not only let me but gave me the keys to Far From Home and this story, probably further ones too. So we are co authors, where I wrote them and he edits to make sure they fit in with the whole universe of Vandan, but he also lets me exercise my creativity and doesn't change much at all. Also Acrophite here, thanks for voicing your opinion here! It is tough to see Valerie go, believe me. I got the outline to this story almost a year ago and learning this was tough, so as a huge fan of this series as you are, I feel you. I think Malaka shared his goals well though, and as I wrote it the more fitting it felt. And she will live on through her children for many stories to come. Wow, can't believe Valerie died...Also I hope Lorek decides not to be acting king per se, I liked that about him, it takes a big person to resist the allure of that kind of power.

Hi, Malaka here. I'm really sorry that Valerie's death was not to your liking. I came up with the idea of her giving her life to save humans as a way for her to show her great commitment to protecting the innocent and helpless. This has always been my plan for her character, and this story portrayed it well. Her death and self-sacrifice, though tragic, will inspire the next generation, her children, to continue her legacy. I realize that most of my stories have happy endings, so maybe that's what people have come to expect, but occasionally I think a sad ending can be good as well, giving more meaning to a story and its characters and making you feel more strongly attached to them. That's just my opinion, though, you're free to disagree.
Lorek has no interest in ruling or being king, don't worry. He's perfectly happy to leave that to Belena, his only desire is to be with her and support her, since he loves her that much.

You made me tear up. The Vandan series are some of my favorite stories of all time. Valerie's death shocked me. I figured either Valerie or Alban would die eventually in the series, but it's still a hard blow. A gripping story, and characters you care for very deeply. It hits you to the core.

As a fan is this series too, I really feel you. Writing this was possibly harder than reading it, because Malaka told me the outline beforehand, so it was a lot to process. I'm glad this story moves you and I hope it was a fitting end for a beloved character!

This is a partial re-upload you said? Trying to recall how much of this I may have read earlier. I definitely don't remember another giant existing. I like the conflict this presents, his cruelty vs. the possibility that he's the only other giant left (a shame it's a giant man though. I'm definitely more fond of the ladies).

Yes, I believe only the first two chapters existed before. The rest are brand new. Yeah, more of that conflict is to come with that giant, Valerie has a tough choice to make.

Valerie isn't a violence-first kind of person. Especially with the last remaining giant that she knows of. However, Naaman is torturing humans, so I guess we will see where her loyalties lie and whether she can do what needs to be done.

Fantastic the new chapter i think it's wonderful. But how about if the little king's son Luke, with whom Queen Valerie got along well, also gets a giant girl as his best friend and the giant girl immediately falls in love with little Luke? and since the king now knows Valerie he doesn't mind between their connection and Luke the giant girl marries at some point. And could you turn the huge girl that falls in love with little Luke into a chubby big bbw girl? that would give Luke a lot to cuddle.

This should be finished this month, we are about halfway through at this point. More stories will come too, though I can't promise when. Also, please do check out Princess of Vandan: The Sword of Revenge. Malaka is making it as a sequel to Princess of Vandan and a prequel to Children of Vandan. Great story so far!
