Grace had this coming for a veeery long time. Kinda surreal though to see this once seemingly invincible woman be reduced to the very thing she's preyed on since her introduction. In her eyes, and even to her supposed family, she'd now be seen as even less than human. The very same humans they've mocked for so long.
Grace was given a punishment far worse than being killed, she was humbled. A false got cast down. What a wonderful wake-up call, not just for her but for the rest of the corporation. Oh, they'll be shaking in their boots now.
A wonderfully cathartic chapter.

We will definitely get to Grace's mental state a bit later, after a few more events cement her new place in the social hierarchy that she considered herself the apex of! As Jisoo stated this is a fate worse than death for Grace, since to her power is everything and she considers it worse to be 'broken' rather than dead. Hence her earlier actions in the story where she was obsessed with proving she could 'break' people like Thomas and Alice.
And she's had this one coming pretty much since her introduction I think! It'll be exciting to get back to how her arc concludes in a few chapters.

We're not dealing with the average Fang warrior anymore. That's right, Jisoo has risen beyond the limits of the Fang bloodline, and into the realm of legend. The legend that Amita fears. The legend, known throughout the entire world, as the most powerful warrior to ever exist. She, Jisoo, has become the legendary Super Fang ... blah blah blah blah blah you get it. Then she slays the Jabbawocky and saves Narnia.
But enough about me, I'm just jealous of her Super Fang Swagger.
The scene where Eren is ... uh ... appreciating Jisoo's muscly form looming over the landscape (paying special attention to the thighs, abs and tracts of land), while he's a speck of sand to her, uh ... activates the neurons. Just for that, I'm punching in another five stars.

It's fitting too because Jisoo's eyes glow gold just like a super saiyan's hair lol. Back in early planning of the story I contemplated having her hair turn gold whenever she grows but changed my mind since it seemed too on the nose and corny. Still might have it change colors to white, but that's not too much of a priority atm.
And thank you very much! I'm happy Jisoo's newfound abilities have only increased her appeal.

Even after everything she's done, I can't help but pity Grace. She lacked what Jisoo had, and that's a drive to become a better person. Grace knows that she's a monster. She can lie as much as she wants, disguise the truth in any way she sees it, and even deny it to her last breath. But she knows that she is one. Whether she lives or dies it'll come about because of her actions. So, I pity her. That said I cannot resist saying this.

Grace this entire time has deep down resented Jisoo because she was living proof that even a monster can change if they have the heart for it, but Grace due to a combination of her upbringing and personal moral failures could never cross the boundary to the 'light side' and sought to drag Jisoo down with her if that's what it took. It was important to make sure she was not so despicable throughout the story that she was hated completely by the reader, but also enough of a villain that her downfall was satisfying.

It was important for Grace to not feel like a completely one dimensional, evil person throughout the story while not making her so redeemable that her downfall would not be cathartic. I'm sure she has her fair share of fans since early on she was a source of the best erotic content and harsh justice on some other characters, but as time went on I believe she's proven herself as someone who cannot really be redeemed and this was the best course of action Jisoo could have taken while not compromising her newfound appreciation for human life.

Really love this chapter! I was at the edge of my seat throughout its entirety. It made me really love who Jisoo as a character has become. Seeing Grace at her most savage makes me really excited for the next installment with recent developments and all.

Fall from Grace indeed. This story is intensifying and I love it! The fact that Grace is hearing her inner conscience is a good sign but it seems a bit late for her at this point. And good on Maeve and Eren for breaking the brainwashing. You'd better keep them safe this time Jisoo!
I can feel we're headed to big events in the story now. Jisoo and Grace confrontation, Maddie and Ruiwen on their way, Operation Deliverance happening soon, the Amrita branches doing their own plots, I can't wait!

At the end of a slow burn there should always be a cathartic explosion that makes the build-up even more worth it, and things are going to get really intense in the next few chapters! It's a lot of things happening all at once but fortunately things will become a bit more streamlined for the primary characters for the remainder of the story, with less jumping around between different pov's.

Whenever someone consumes a Peach of Immortality, they experience a massive surge in power and that includes their confidence, hence why Maddie was so willing to lambast Ren. Now Ren is experiencing the same thing, and might not be thinking with her noggin as much as her heart. Let's see how that works out for her.

The best plans are always the most ludicrous, as Maddie clearly saw for herself. Now she got a taste of what the other women of the corporation possess, and boy did she benefit from it.
I do wonder though how this is going to affect Ren in the coming future. She knows she's in a very tough spot. A clear rock and a hard place situation. The rock of course being Jisoo and the hard place being...the rest of the corporation. Eager to see just what's going to happen when everyone discovers the situation with Eren.
Carnage is coming. And a whole lot of it.

Ren struggling between her newfound guilt and care for Maddie is at conflict between her family, which as we've seen doesn't treat her very well because she's just a low ranked member. Whether or not her decision to listen to her consciousness comes back to bite her later we'll have to see!

Oh, wow. I felt a chill when I thought that Ren would kill Maddie. God, I had actually psychologically prepared myself to see her die. I thought I would shed tears again in this story. Kardo, sorry about the sentimentality I've developed towards Maddie's character but I identify with her. I am a computer engineer and to tell the truth she is a character whose profession, personality and goals I love. I don't know why I feel like I shouldn't get too attached to her. But I think it's too late.
Separate note congratulations for 50 chapters of a work of art. I have followed the journey from the beginning and it is a wonderful story not only focused on the fetish but on the details, on the feelings and on the situations. Congratulations.

Holy cow, Madeline just pulled a Keikeku Doori on Ren! Nice of her to utilize her situation to turn the tables on Ren.
It looks like Eren will be the one that may need some sort of healing, or whatever they have up there with Jisoo's mother. Grace really is a whirlwind of catastrophe, even when she means well.

Thus far we've been introduced to a few of Jisoo's 'sister' figures. Her biological sister Suji, her adopted sister Tae-yeon, and her sister-like figure Grace, all of whom form a triangle of emotions and loyalties that she's uncomfortably stuck in and has to contend with. For her to remain neutral is exceptionally difficult, because all three of her sister figures are so radically different from one another.

An aptly-named chapter, as this radically shifts Grace's downfall from high-speed vertical descent to slightly slower spiral. But, she's not out of danger, just yet! And, for the very reasons you so plainly pointed out in the last half-dozen paragraphs before the cliffhanger.
On the other hand, Keiko's confession seems to confirm my suspicions of a Sino-Japanese schism, within Amrita, even further. Let's see whether or not chapter 44 has me dancing The Butter Churn like Diona Reasonover in the opening credits of NCIS. ;-)
