Interesting back-and-forth roller coaster of Cassie's emotional state. I figured that this was the chrysalis moment where Cassie sees herself as an outright demigoddess who no longer answers to the laws of mankind or society anymore and does as she pleases, figuring that she's "above it all," both figuratively and metaphorically. Yet you have her teetering between embracing her larger, more powerful self with flashpoint moments of humanity and regret, as if she can't quite make up her mind if she should get drunk on her own power or be a more humble titanness altogether. Curious as to how this whole thing ends regarding things between Cassie and the wider world at large. No doubt she'd be making headlines around the world as to who and what she is, with governments all over the planet shaking nervously as to what she's capable of.

Also curious as to whether or not Derek survives the events of this whole story. My gut says no, but you might surprise us and have Cassie spare his life at the end of it (humiliate and terrify him tremendously for sure, but maybe not kill him...maybe).

Also really good descriptive elements with the destructive power which Cassie conveys with the broader world around her. As a side note, I'd consider giving the story "Millenium Man vs. The Titanium Terror (and Claire)" by LoveLornProf a read if you have the time. The destructive elements in the 2nd chapter and Claire's emotional state I found very enjoyable and similar in tone to what you have in this story overall. Here's the link if you're interested, and looking forward to what you have in store!

Author's Response:

Yeah, this is definitely an inflection point in the story. Cassie's general emotional volatility, some clearly unresolved trauma, not to mention her altered mental state from the alcohol and other drugs have definitely made her pretty unstable. We're seeing her make a lot of mistakes and though she's conscious of her own power, she also forgets things in the moment and she keeps coming to epiphanies only to forget them moments later. Most Cassie chapters are accompanied by another person's POV to impress upon the reader how terrifying and powerful she is, whereas in Cassie's mind she thinks she's still being considerate and rational about things. The wider world will certainly have a response to her, but said response is slow because of the remote location, late time of night, and general absurdity of the whole situation (as we've seen in a few places, a lot of people don't believe the videos of the event to be authentic). I know a thing or two about emergency responses (from both a military and civil perspective) and it will come up in the story.

As for Derek's fate... I think that was already pretty clear but I do recognize that I'm uploading chapters slowly so perhaps you forgot or missed a chapter. Derek is dead; Luke confirmed it. However, Cassie doesn't know Derek is dead. She thinks he abandoned her, but in reality he didn't survive her growth spurt through the frat house. It kind of adds a layer of irony to Cassie's misplaced belief that she hasn't killed anyone yet. Of course, it also makes her extremely dangerous, as she is still looking for someone she can't possibly find and she's getting increasingly tired and frustrated.

I'm still working my way through the Rowena stories and have been reading some stories from new authors recently, but I'll definitely give this story a look when I can. I'm still very much enjoying Rowena.
