Damn! Real Kim is finally starting to turn into Charlie-hallucination Kim.
I have to say that the way you portrayed the horror of Kim's actions in this chapter, primarily with the two security guards, was fucking stellar! I could feel the same chill going through my body as Candace did as Kim laughed while dragging that security guard back into her room. The way you described that whole scene, from how Kim handled the security guards to her carefree, playful attitude was not only sexy as hell, but terrifying as well! That's a hell of a combination to pull off, but the scene flowed so effortlessly anyway. I know I've said this more than once before, but I once again find myself impressed with your ability to concisely convey a scene that is so easy to visualize and never seems to lack in emotion. Fucking brilliant!
That part where she chased guard down the hall on all fours, cheerfully calling out, "Don't let me get you!" is maybe the best example of the blend of cuteness and horror that Kim has become. I really just wanted to highlight that part, as it quickly became one of my favorites in the whole story up to this point.
The scariest part about Kim is that I really don't know which is worse, the fact that Kim really didn't seem to notice how frightening her actions were here or the fact that after Charlie put them in perspective, her first thought was to just straight-up take over everything! And you know Kim didn't fully comprehend how her actions were being seen by everyone else by the way that she stopped to taunt Candace. I came away from that scene thinking that Kim really didn't think what she was doing was that big a deal and that it was just her being a little playful with some jerks who tried to tase her. Honestly, it seemed like she took more joy in informing Candace about stealing Jacob than she did playing with the security guards. That line about Kim's sloppy seconds being Candace's favorite after "giving' Candace that guy was fucking brutal! If Candace was scared for her life, that shit might have destroyed her.
While we're on Kim, I loved the little "competition" Thomas and Monica tried to have with Kim, Jacob, and Val. I still don't care for Thomas, but I have to admit that I'm softening on him a bit. I love Monica, and seeing them together is kind of helping me view him in a slightly more positive light. Of course Monica would be turned on by Kim's sex noises! I thought it was awesome that, instead of getting pissed or scared, she used it as motivation to get fucked and even managed to get Thomas into it. I ended up being really glad that they got the fuck out of there before shit got too crazy, and I have to thank Thomas for saving sweet, sweet Monica.
Kim's foot coming through the wall they were fucking on was crazy, though! When it became clear that something was coming through the wall, I thought her whole body was going to come through and that someone was going to get seriously hurt. That Kim is both long and strong enough to accidentally put her foot through a fucking wall is incredibly hot!
But the meat of the chapter, plotwise at least, was the first segment. I've already made my feelings on Charlie known, but I think the fact that his Pete hallucination represents the "angel" to his Kim's "devil" speaks volumes about his moral compass. It was interesting to see those two imaginary beings pulling Charlie in two different directions, though. Pete is trying to keep Charlie on the straight and narrow strictly for common sense and legal reasons, which fits his personality and views on morality, while his version of Kim just pushes him to do crazier and crazier things (and now, again, real Kim is starting to sound a lot like imaginary Kim).
Aaron going off on Charlie and beating the shit out of him like that was so satisfying to read, even if I knew there was no way that it could end well for Aaron. Charlie has had this coming for some time, and I have to admit that I didn't expect him to actually receive any form of punishment, let alone the product of Aaron's long-term anguish, fear, and frustrations. I found Kim's reaction to finding out that Aaron did this to Charlie to be quite interesting. Despite at least pretending to still care about Charlie, did beating the producer-turned-showrunner to a bloody pulp make Kim want Aaron again? Or is she just in awe that she inspired enough terror in him to make him do something so raw and desperate? I'm really curious how she reacts to Aaron in the next chapter now.
It sucks that crazy Charlie destroyed the com system to "protect" Kim. For a while now, Charlie's infatuation with Kim has morphed from seeing her as his ticket up the showbiz ladder to damn-near deifying her. Pete's words at the very end of the chapter seem to imply that he's at least a little upset at Kim taking over the show, but I feel like Charlie is going to bury that shit deep and give himself to Kim even more now that she's moving past horny playfulness to something darker.
Speaking of which, I feel like this was shown when Kim went from thinking that the guards weren't as hurt as they were to demanding that at least most of the medical team stop working on them to measure her was a nice subtle indication at the shift in her attitude after reflecting on how she could have killed those two guards, something she didn't seem to consider until Charlie brought it up. The power she really has over everyone, the authority she commands, is finally starting to really sink in, and the last vestiges of the Kim we saw back at the start of the story are being shed as her orders become less about immediate needs like food and more about what's going to happen next on the show. That big meeting with everyone, even those who haven't been on the show yet (and presumably Lauren, which could be interesting), has me intrigued as to how Kim sees things going from here on out.
This chapter was filled with action, some of it being hot as fuck! This story has only gotten more interesting as the chapters continue to come in, and with the way things are right now, I only see that continuing to be true in the chapters ahead!
