Summary:

A cure for cancer. A cure for aging. Peaceful societies governed by the Elite — teens and preteens gifted with size, strength, and eternal youth.

Perfect, right?

Kyleigh certainly thought so. Outgoing and overconfident, she began training her shy and awkward sister for servitude at the age of nine. Two years later, as predicted, one of them did indeed become an Elite...

I have to say I'm not a fan of Paisley, shes a well written character so its a personal dislike of her triats she's exhibited. She's if not, more manipulative than Ky, but there doesnt' seem to be any affection in her words and I just find her as a bully. My hope is Les will outgrow her, by quite a margin that is.

I liked the scene with Jakob and how Les is adamant so far about keeping her more humane side in check. There's almost a reluctance in her character that I think makes her more relatable, given how she's lived in her sibling's shadow, I find her fascinating. Ky i sympathized with a lot more seeing how her 'friends' turned on her but also Paisley's obnoxious attitude made me realize how good Les has it with a sister whom at least cares enough to be honest. Whats wrong with having dreams? I love that Les will defend her.

Great characterization update, really looking forward to the next

Author's Response:

Les is behind on the growth race with Paisley, if there ever was one. But you never know what can happen.

The characters wax and wane in 'likeability' as I find it to be the most realistic approach. Thanks as always for your insights.
