I almost thought this series was dead. Nice to see it back.

Author's Response:

Not quite dead! Not yet!

Also nice to see you back. I haven't seen you anywhere else in quite a while so I was honestly concerned something may have happened.

Case book PTSD behavior. Poor Corey.

Author's Response:

Indeed :(. Though I'm glad my depiction here came through as such a thing. Thanks for comment!

Yeah I can see the issue of the Omega's parent being practically the same age as them physically in Omega/Alpha and Omega/Beta relationships. MILFs and DILFs everywhere lol.

Author's Response:

Pretty much the most awkward "meet the parents" scenario you could get, really.

If I had to compare consequences to something it would be a sandwich that when you take your first bite it starts out pretty good and then as you work your way deeper into the sandwich the flavors come together and really brings out the sandwich but after you finish it you're left feeling unfulfilled. Ultimately I'll probably have another sandwich but hopefully the final few bites have more impact.

Author's Response:

That's fair. Im glad you've stuck around with me, and I hope I can make my next work a bit more filling :).

Summary:

The story of After Shrink High continues. Hope seems to have been all but lost with the ending of Act 1.

But there are still those who fight the Society's corruption. Outside Atlanta, men and women struggle to survive in the new shrunken world all while fighting against the titanic giantesses of the Society. The shrunken world is a harsh place, but such a cruel world may just temper the only hope of stopping the Society.

Act 2 assumes you have read Act 1 so make sure to read it first.

Yay you’re back!

So the Society is taking a more aggressive attitude toward the Resistance? Well that isn’t good, the swords had questionable practices before but now they might be given even less restrictions in how they do things. With the society probably stepping up its propaganda campaign it’s expected the citizens would want war. The Resistance might have unknowingly sparked that war by roasting those Society members.

Good starting chapter. Guess we'll be seeing things now through Resistance eyes.

Author's Response:

The war was already well on its way to happening. If anything, Darius, Derek, and co just speed up an inevitable problem.

And indeed, this Act will be focused around the Resistance.

Nice chapter and good detail as always

It seems Jacob is taking Sander’s place as our fish out of water character that isn’t as extreme as his cohorts.

And I figured there were multiple factions of shrunken humans. The society probably broadly labels them as resistance. No need to diffieretiate ants.

Disheartening chapter with a nice surprise at the end, I can’t help but feel the phoenixes are underestimating the society.

Nice to see Sander’s again, but I wonder if he’ll be the same Sander’s we all know since he’s supposedly been living on his own for a year. I wonder if that collarless cat girl was the same one to escaped at the end of act one.

Interesting development...

And as for the new characters, I like them. It's good to see resistance members not painted as the bad guys, even if some of the members used to be criminals.

Lutice is definitely coo coo for cocoa puffs when it comes to Sanders. I still think she’s more mentally unstable than evil or just a yandere.

Author's Response:

For Sanders sake, lets hope you are right. And not getting yandere mixed up with tsundere....

Anyone else getting the mental image of Pyrrha and Lutice fighting over Sanders now?

Lol very sexy chapter

I’m going to go ahead and agree that even if Lutice is having her mind controlled or had her mind altered by the society, I doubt that it caused her to be this freaky. She must’ve been a little off kilter even before she became a swords member, I think.

Also since the society can easily grow and shrink people and objects with the shrink gun, the potentially fatal method they currently use to shrink ex society members must be a way to dissuade society members from actually doing it.

Author's Response:

That is assuming that report was telling the truth...

Excellent Chapter

I think Lutice will be even more turned on that Sanders managed to escape another seemingly inescapable situation.

I really got god of war vibes when Sanders was fighting the giantess

Also I wonder if Pyrrha underwent something similar to Fionne when Sanders used the nanobots on her, it would be nice if she got a surge of intelligence or at least started to learn how to talk.

Finally when are we going to see Aviel again?

Author's Response:

She will be. Also be pissed as hell that he left her. Sanders has a date with some angry sex if he gets caught.

I was going for that and a mix of Shadow of the Colussus. Both have been kinda the insperation on how to fight something that big.

heheh, all I am going to say for that.

She will show up eventually. After all, she knows about Lindale too...

Funny how Derek was a muscle bound mook in act one and now has an entire chapter that gives insight into his character. Then there is the description of Hope that shows how human ingenuity thrives at any size. Darius certainly has interesting people under him. I think Sanders would like hope if everyone wasn't so distrustful

Author's Response:

I did that on purpose. A number of people we saw in the Resistance will get fleshed out and made more than just random guy #5.

And yes he just might.

So Jacob was that resistance member that Aviel captured. I don’t like Jacob, though. Even if his reasoning for attacking Pyrhha was justified (hint: It wasn’t) he almost fucked up their plan to save hope and would have gotten hundreds of people killed to satisfy his own need for vengeance. Absolutely pathetic. Even I wanted to punch him in the face for attacking Pyrrha.

Author's Response:

Indeed he was. To be fair to Jacob, it was kinda in the heat of the moment type thing and he did recognize it was stupid at the end. Not justifying him at ALL, just saiyan.

Cool chapter but man nobody is safe now in this story it seems…

Jacob last chapter and Sanders this chapter. While Jacob can be sort of sympathized with, Sanders doesn’t get that luxury because what he did was incredibly stupid. I almost face palmed in real life. Did he really think they were not going to twist the truth about what happened? He can’t afford to be this naïve. He got Lindsey, one of the more interesting resistance members, killed for no good reason. Even if her death served to motivate Sanders it shouldn’t have happened in the first place and that is what makes it tragic. The resistance is going to blame him for her death and thus make it harder for them to trust him. Lindsey was really the only one on his side.

Author's Response:

Indeed, they are not. I will admit to toying with offing Sanders once to twice as well, so I would expect anyone and everyone to die if I were you.

Yeah what he did was stupid, but we all make mistakes. Some are bigger than others to be sure, and Sanders was a HUGE one, but maybe he will learn from it and be better for it.

Also, the fact it seemed to bug you so much and make you right out that big long review is exactly why I did. The best stories are tragic.

Epic fight and Sanders grows as a character. Nice chapter all around.

Ah Jacob you still can’t see beyond your own issues. He better wake up before he ends up being a detriment to the whole squad.

As for Aviel, I hoped she was playing some sort of long con but the more I thought about it the more I realized she’s pretty much been a society zealot from day one and seemed to agree with the society’s more unethical practices just to fight the resistance. This is really a natural progression of her character.

Author's Response:

We can hope Sanders and Samantha will slap some sense into him. Failing that, Pyrrha might have an "accident" with him, She has made it pretty clear she doesn't care for him.

Yeah she never did take too kindly to Sanders questioning the Society or every have any sympathy for the Resistance.

Lol is the title chapter supposed to be an oxymoron?

This chapter showed that the phoenixes are just as barbarous as the society in their methods, not exactly the best hope for shrunken mankind. Tiffany reminded me of pre-giantess Aviel a bit except she’s far more of a stone cold bitch.

Author's Response:

Yes.

Tiffany kinda is supposed to remind you of her. That said, do remember the kind of world the Phoenixes are in. It was pretty much either kill the Snakes or die themselves. Yes their methods are horrid and cruel, but they live in a horrid and cruel world where many of them could die at any moment. Tiffany lost her entire squad and second squad in this chapter.

@Zanderas

I know the kind of world they live in but I don’t have to like their methods. The chapter made me uncomfortable reading it. You get all the praise for that. I’m not complaining or anything lol

To think I said there wasn’t enough grey in early Act 1.

Author's Response:

Ahh I see. Good, cause you were supposed to be unconfortable. This chapter was meant to show the Phoenixes are not paragons of goodness. \

And there will be plenty of grey in this story.

A lot of character development in this chapter, I liked it a lot. Now we know why Jacob isn’t a good solider. I really don’t know how I feel about this guy anymore. He can never be in a position of leadership. If Tiffany knew what he did, she’d probably straight up kill him.

I also like the development of Pyrrha and you do a good job emoting her even though she can’t talk.

Author's Response:

Oh Tiffany would kill him in a heartbeat if she heard about it, no questions asked. Do in front of Derek too if needed. Jacob is supposed to be a rather complex character who makes for a hard person to full fault, yet cause problems.

I will admit, I didn't think writing for Pyrrha would be as fun as she is turning out to be. She might replace Gabby as my favorite character to write.
