Summary:

The giants and humans originally coexisted peacefully, each race sticking to their own territories. However, conflicts began over resources, and the giants nearly wiped the humans out. In order to prevent their extinction, the giants moved the humans to reservations, and walled them in so that no further conflicts would come about. Hundreds of years have passed, and still humans have no way of countering this giant menace. Atleast, not until Rageus came along.

I’m kind of interested in this but I can’t help but think about Attack on Titan though lol

Author's Response: It is very inspired by Attack on Titan, in terms of the theme of what is freedom. However, the titans are monsters you can kill without second thought, the giants are not.

Interesting chapter but way too short for how long it took for it to update. I like regular updates at least.

Well...that chapter was saddening, depressing, and rage inducing all at once. I am so glad Corey wasn't old enough to realize he just got abandoned and now I hope Howard does meet Elena again in the future to see what she missed out on because she was weak. Goddamn no wonder Abigail hates this woman.

Author's Response:

I'm glad I hit the big three on this one :)

If I feel I can do something with Elena in the future, I very well might. I suppose we'll have to see.

What stands out to me the most is that Elena believes Corey won't have a future but also won't help to give him a future at all. Her rational is bunk because she's just perpetuating the cycle. That is what makes her weak to me.

As for alpha politicians fighting against Omegas, I think that only extends to alpha controlled areas. I don't think Alphas have any say in Aegis controlled areas.

Author's Response:

Yup. It was a part of her that was particular galling to me as I wrote it: She's cognizant of how unfair all of what she said is, but does not want to put any real work in to try to provide a better future because she feels she will lose against time.

As a fan of micro this pleases me and as a fan of gentle this pleases me even more. The bitter taste of last the last chapter has been wiped out with this one. I don't really care if Omegas have powers if it leads to interactions like this one. As for the chapter itself it looks like we skipped quite ahead into the future if Howard is ready to pop the question. Nice to see a happier Abigail as well. Judging from the way you describe her smile I'm going to assume Claire has the same smile. Also a nice brief mention of Ashely and Melody's father. So a beta husband and alpha husband. Does Jenna have an Omega father? I'm not sure how common it is for Omegas to prefer having a smaller partner.

***
Gonna have to agree with SpookyTaco about the writing style. It's very pleasing to the eye and encourages rereading.

What the heck are you doing Ackbar? You can’t have children in these stories. This is a site of sex and debauchery. You aren’t a pedophile, are you?

Joking aside lol….

Ultra sweet chapter that might have given me cavities.

While a fetish chapter is nice and all, I don’t know if this chapter really meshed well with the cliff hanger from the last chapter and the one that is coming next. Sierra might be killing humans in the next chapter and from what we’ve seen her kind doesn’t care if the human is a child or an adult. I find it a little jarring that Nathan is totally cool being a toy boy and the sisters are treating him like a pet. Makes it hard to take the coming serious part of the story actually seriously.

Summary:

A young woman, prosecuted for a crime she didn’t commit, is placed in the hands of her titanic best friend to learn a few lessons she didn’t earn but most certainly will never forget.

Well never thought I’d be reading a Jacksmith story but its good Ackbar decided to have a story to show that Aegis and the Omegas are less than perfect. I’m interested to see how this goes.

Author's Response:

I guess there's a first for everything. Thanks for reading!

I think someone set Alexandra up but for what reason I have no clue.

Also I wonder if the flame inside Bridget is conflicting with the doubt she has regarding the culpability of her friend.

Author's Response:

Guess we'll just have to wait and see.  Good considerations to have, though.

@Rizcar

I don’t know about Bridget and Alexandra but Corey’s attacks were originally supposed to be given to Jenna. Kayla actually saved Stephanie and Naomi by giving them to Claire in retrospect.

Author's Response:

Good point to bring up. Though not for the same reason, Alexandra was going to go to another enforcer as well until extenuating circumstances put her with Bridget instead.

Aegis, a shield that protects betas but also blinds the omegas to their predjucies.

Great chapter.

Thanks!

Unlike with Claire, this work chapter was tainted by the knowledge Bridget is going to go back home and torture a potentially innocent woman. And seeing how she's staying the course without any doubt, this is only going to end badly for both parties. It's hard to feel sorry for Bridget because she's doing this on such filmsly evidence.

Author's Response:

I was hoping the parallels with that chapter in Consequences would be felt, so thanks for point that out. It is definitely supposed to feel a bit darker here, though, given the differences in circumstances.

A good chapter, a much needed chapter. In fact I think this chapter should have come earlier as now we have a good idea why Bridget is going to the lengths she is to find out why her friend is allegedly accused of hurting those betas. I think this chapter retroactively humanizes Bridget a bit, more than the work chapter did.

Author's Response:

Good to know it helped soften your view of Bridget. I actually had hoped this one would stand in contrast to the previous chapter, since the last one wasn't necessarily meant to humanize Bridget, but at least give the impression that she's conflicted on it all. Thanks for reviewing!

And now the plot thickens! Irrationality and hatred is a volatile cocktail and Nathaniel downed the whole glass to even come up with such a heinous plot to frame Alexandra. I hope he answers for his crimes. For now I'll ponder what Aegis even does with beta criminals or will he be handed over to alpha courts.

Author's Response:

Nathaniel not only downed it, he set it on fire. All I'll say is that Aegis does indeed have an answer to every injustice.

Every Omega story has “that” chapter that is noticeably more standout than the rest. Omega: Consequences so far has Marion’s downfall and the final chapter of the Claire/Stephanie arc, Omega: Tough Love has Jenna – Part 2, Omega: Family has the first chapter, and now Inheritance has this chapter. Granted this my opinion regarding the best chapters in the Omega verse but this one was too powerful, raw, and shocking to ignore. Lexi is a very strong ten year old to reject her mother’s psychotic ideology like that, making her a lot stronger than she appears. This strength is seen in the present as she refuses to break under her frend's punishment and hold onto her innocence.

Author's Response:

Thanks man, it means a lot.

I wonder if Alexandera has the ablity to sue Aegis for this.

Suspenseful chapter, btw :)

Author's Response:

It might be tough, since Aegis hasn't been in the middle of this big of a mistake before. Thanks!

Yeeaaah…

I’m both sad for Bridget and Lexi right now. While Bridget gets some hate, I’m not going to ignore the upbringing her generation of Omegas have and the near indoctrination like teaching they receive involving beta cruelty and instilling in them the desire to protect betas at all costs. Aegis is more at fault for this and I hope this makes Kayla think about making some changes to the organization. Bridget and Lexi and their friendship both got screwed by the system.

As for Lexi, it was hard seeing her crack like that but I don’t think she’s actually going to turn into a beta killing criminal or harbor violent tendencies toward them. I’m not too worried about her injuries due to the super advanced medical care Aegis have and frankly doing all they can to treat her is the least they could do.

Excellent chapter, good sir. The Omega series always produces high quality work.

Author's Response:

You're right about Lexi; she didn't necessarily crack and become what they were accusing her of, it was just her anger swelling up in that moment. The physical injuries, while serious, are indeed fixable. Thanks for reading!

I forgot to review the ending. Better late then never, I guess. I liked the conculsion. Gave enough closure whilel leaving some uncertaintiy and the cliff hanger was awesome.

Author's Response:

Better late than never indeed; I've appreciated your commentary on this one. Glad you enjoyed the ending.
