While the growing servitude and domination is great, Eric is not. He has neither a brain nor a spine, and to all the detriment. The ending in particular was a weird whiplash from his till this point growing obedience. He's like a broken record, repeating the same phrases over and over again, and breaking at even the slightest punishment.
Other than the disorientation and powerless feeling at being handled so easily, punishments like being trapped in smelly clothes for an hour is a pathetic punishment. His awareness and empathy for their emotions through out made me believe he'd know what to do to handle these emotions, but he was an idiot from start to finish and it made it harder to read.
He was so easily broken, and so easily returned to his facade of resistance. When he didn't acquiesce it was like he didn't have any survival instincts at all, and yet also had no willpower to hold up resistance. His character was a bland delivery, and I had no real feelings for his plight.

In all due respect, the first words that came to my mind were, "This man is a bonafide idiot." They haven't left me all the way to chapter 6. I'm sure this is a purposeful plot point. I like his situation, but I wish he would realize that if people aren't noticing, then it has to mean something, and he should ask about it, or at least figure it out. It really drew me thin to see someone so clueless and foolish.

I hear ya, his naivette and overall dimwitedness to the realization he's in over his head is a major downfall of his. But mainly, he's writing it off as Dana's doing (also denial) and doesn't comprehend how people are really perceiving his loss of height.

His savings probably won't hold out for another week at kyras pace, and it seems like his boss wouldn't accept his behavior either.. Any hints to this area of the story, or will it be to far into the future for it to really cause worry?

Well, it'll be addressed sometime down the road, but maybe not in the most realistic fashion. The story kind of requires some suspension of disbelief in this area. At least Kyra hasn't bought anything more than little things like clothes at this point (unless I'm forgetting something else), and the father has a good amount of savings in his account which she has appropriated. Anyway, his work situation will be brought into the picture sooner or later.
