Author's Chapter Notes:

With this one, we get a little bit of another story focused chapter, with some hints as to what's going to happen in the next chapters.

Jackie didn’t sleep at all, even after Carissa carefully constructed a bed for her out of torn up foam, part of an old shirt and spent too long making sure she felt safe. Jackie missed her bed next to Marleigh’s and the thought of someone else sleeping with her bothered her more than it should’ve. For as long as she’s known Marleigh, she’s always been in love with her and to see someone else take her place as hers broke her heart even more than the actual breakup. She couldn’t get over the fact that if she actually had gone back here when she wanted to, she’d have Marleigh back and Kali would be just another stranger. But fate had other plans, obviously.

Although she still loved Marleigh, she couldn’t deny the fact that she was happy with the new girl she found herself with. Jackie knew if she did anything to disrupt their relationship like saying something stupid or doing anything to cause Kali to leave her, Marleigh would hate her forever. As if having Marleigh ignore her feelings were bad, she couldn’t imagine the feeling of having Marleigh actively hate her.

“Jackie? Are you up? Are you ready for breakfast? I was gonna make bacon and eggs before Marleigh and Kali wake up.” Carissa caught Jackie in the middle of her lack of sleep induced thoughts. “You won’t have to see her or Kali if you don’t want to.”

“It’s fine Carissa. We can be in the same room together, I’m fine with Marleigh. But Kali...I don’t know.” Jackie turned around as she saw Carissa holding out her hand in front of the dresser and waited for her to step on board. “Where’d she even met this girl?”

“Well, they met at a sports bar the two of us went to one time. Kali was our server and they hit it off really well. Kali gave her a free dessert and they exchanged numbers, next thing I know, they’re together.” As Carissa explained how the two came together, it just made things worse for Jackie. “But if you get past the thought of Marleigh dating her, Kali is a really sweet girl. Maybe you’ll like her.”

“Maybe.” As they came out of the room, and stepped into the kitchen, the door to Marleigh’s room opened up which revealed a half naked Kali. She was only wearing her black bra and panties that exposed her smooth and porcelain stomach. Last night, Jackie didn’t get that great of a look at her but now, Kali was on full display in the morning sun. Her beautiful body just made Jackie feel obsolete as Marleigh had upgraded long ago. Who would be dumb enough to go from a beautiful human girl that can do anything you want to do to downgrade to a micro such as Jackie who had nothing going for besides her love of Marleigh’s feet. To compare Kali with herself was like comparing a Greek goddess to a simple beggar in the streets. It just wasn’t fair.

“Hey Carissa, morning.” Kali had a smile on her face as she acknowledged Carissa yet as soon as she looked in Jackie’s direction, her face turned stern and almost unforgiving. “I’m sorry, I don’t think I caught your name last night. I’m Kali, little one.” As Kali walked to the pair, all Jackie could do was wish she had that body, that confidence. The confidence to do whatever she wished. To do anyone she wished. It made Jackie feel less than worthless.

“J-J-Jackie. I’m Jackie. It’s nice to meet you Kali.”

“And what brings you here Miss Jackie? Marleigh says she knows you, that true?” Kali got on her tiptoes as she reached into a cabinet to grab some nutrition bars from the top shelf, letting Jackie see the smooth and toned stomach she had which just added to the feeling of inadequacy she was feeling.

“She just came to visit me, is all.” Carissa managed to salvage the conversation as after last night, Kali managed to figure out why Jackie was here. To get back together with Marleigh no doubt. She saw right through Carissa’s lies but shrugged it off. For now, Kali would wait for her opportunity to strike and make sure this infiltrator doesn’t last long here. If she had to drive her out or do the unthinkable to keep her Marleigh, she would.

“Seems sweet. So, what are you doing today Carissa? You work today?” Kali wanted to change the subject, still staring at the frightened micro eating her nutrition bar like an animal as she eyed her down.

“Yeah, at nine. What about you and Marleigh? You two doing anything special today?” Carissa asked as she set Jackie down on the counter, while still talking to Kali.

“Marleigh has work at ten, I guess I should wake her up soon. But I’m free today but I might go out and do some very special errands.” Kali then turned around as she shook her booty around like it was nothing, further adding to Jackie’s feeling of inadequacy. She then watched Kali as she headed towards the couch a fair distance away while staring at her luscious body. It made her mind race as she began to think of all the things her and Marleigh had done together.

“She’s so much better than me, Carissa. I can’t compete against her.” Jackie just wanted to punch something so bad as the frustration of being told to get her girl back while being faced with impossible odds began to overwhelm her.

“Jackie, look. You can try to get Marleigh back but that could just end up being worse. I’m not saying force yourself into their relationship but try to be friends with Kali. Perhaps, you and her could get along, maybe you have some common ground you two don't know about. You two could be the best of friends. Just try to be friends with her, ok?” Carissa whispered into Jackie’s ear as she crouched down near the cabinet to avoid being heard by Kali.

“Yeah, you’re right.” Jackie’s voice was suddenly very down as she further tried to convince herself that Marleigh was no longer hers. “Carissa, can you take me back to your room? I’ll get food later. I don’t really feel like seeing Marleigh again right now. I’m not good enough for her. Not anymore.” Jackie’s plan was completely shattered the second Marleigh hesitated to accept her back into her life last night and it had just been going downhill ever since. She thought about wanting to go back to being Chelsea’s pet, at least there, she was wanted.

“If that’s what you want Jackie. I’ll leave some things for you nearby so you don’t have to go too far.” It was a short walk back to Carissa’s room and an even shorter walk to where Jackie was supposed to sleep last night. “I can tell you didn’t sleep a wink last night little one. Promise you’ll get some before I get back?”

“I promise.” Jackie just sat down on the makeshift bed as she tried not to pull her hair out from the frustration. “I think after today, I’m just gonna head back to my friends house. Maybe then I can find something like Marleigh has now.” Jackie then curled up in a ball, covered herself in the blanket and shut her eyes, tears rolling down her face softly. “I won’t bother her anymore than I already have.” She whispered to herself out of sheer pity alone.

“Just be safe little girl. Ok? I’ll get the food and water for when you wake up. Everything is going to be alright.” Carissa massaged Jackie’s back like she’d seen Marleigh do plenty of times while they were dating. She knew it would always put her in a relaxed state when she felt a giant yet gentle finger massaging her back. She then turned around and saw Marleigh standing in the doorway, looking at the small girl with an exuberant amount of emotions on her face. Pain, sorrow, regret and most of all, empathy. Carissa pulled her hand back as she pulled the covers over her friend who fully embraced them as she heard some sniffling come from the bed which just broke Carissa’s heart even more.

“Does she...is she doing alright?” Marleigh asked sweetly as Carissa shut the door behind her as she looked to her roommate. “Can I just talk to her? Is she, you know, up for that?”

“Marleigh, she really needs her rest. She was up all night thinking. You know she misses you and she knows you moved on with Kali but what you said to her last night really got to her. I think it’s best you two talk after you get off. Ok? Either say you can be at the very least be friends or just...cut ties completely? Just think about it while you’re at work. Come back level headed. Ok?” Carissa grabbed onto Marleigh’s shoulders as they both stared into each other’s eyes. Through thick and thin, through the highs and lows of life, Carissa and Marleigh had been friends. They helped each other and cared for one another. Especially in times like this, they needed each other.

“Yeah, ok. I will. We’ll figure this out tonight.” Marleigh’s words were not just heard by Carissa. Even though she was whispering, Kali from across the room while watching TV heard it as well. This changed her plans, well more like accelerated the diabolical plans she had for the small, almost pathetic girl. All she had to do was wait. “Ok, I’m gonna go. Does she need or want anything on the way home? I can get her whatever she needs.”

Carissa smiled a little bit as this was the first time she’d Marleigh even mention Jackie, let alone in good faith like this. “How about some of that Puter milk she always used to rave about? That might cheer her up.”

Marleigh smiled as she looked back at Carissa’s door. She had missed Jackie deeply, even when she started dating Kali, she had second thoughts about going for it as she feared Jackie would come back just like she did now. She was now conflicted as she loved Kali immensely but she also still had some feelings for Jackie leaving her two choices. Stay with Kali or break up with her and then get back with Jackie. She was caught in the middle of a love triangle with no easy way out of it. She just had to hope someone could deal with rejection well.

“Yeah, I’ll get some when I leave work.” Marleigh then turned around as she headed to Kali who was still watching the morning news, like she always did around this time. “I’ll see you around. Love you, Kali.” Marleigh then gave a quick peck on the cheek on Kali who blushed as she felt Marleigh’s warm skin touch hers in the most sensual manner possible.

“I love you too, Mar.” Kali said as Marleigh left the apartment, strutting her stuff as she did so to further tease Kali. But Kali wasn’t too focused on Marleigh’s delicious body as she left, she was busy planning on getting Jackie to leave and to never even think of coming back here. She had everything planned out, she just needed to wait just one more hour for Carissa to leave. “We're still on tonight, right?”

“Of course Kali. I’ll see you tonight, alright?”

“Yeah, can’t wait.”

Chapter End Notes:

Kali is not going to be the nicest girl Jackie has met, in the next few chapters, she's probably going to be the cruelest she's ever seen.
