Chapter 4

"Are you kiddin' me right now?" Nora's gaping mouth turned up into a grin as she started to laugh. "You're about half the size of my finger and you're crackin' jokes?" She let out a sigh and sat on her bed, carefully setting her hand down to let me off. "I think you have explainin' to do." She stated with a stern look.

"Explaining? There isn't much to explain. I woke up and had no idea where I was. Then YOUR foot attacked me." I accused as I stepped off her palm, mainly because I felt like she was putting the blame on me, as if I knew what was going on. Well, I could play the blame game too.

"Oh I'm sorry, but it's not like I check my shoes every day for little people hidin' in them." Nora retorted, smirking as she picked up her shoe and shook it. "Hello, anyone else in there? No? Come on, join the party!"

I laughed at her ridiculous acting, although everything about what was happening currently was ridiculous. Also, this was the first time I could see the shoe that was my prison for the last couple minutes. It was a black espadrille, which explained why the sole was a bit rough. They're nice shoes in general, but I now know from experience that they're a bit...cramped. Forgetting about it for now, I laid down on her blanket, sprawling my legs and arms out.

"You gettin' comfy there Dom? Can I get you anythin' else?" She looked down at me, amused.

"I guess I could use a pillow." I shrugged and pointed behind my neck.

"Then by all means, here you go!" Nora's arm stretched out above me, casting a shadow that reminded me of my short stature. Then, to even further bring the point home, she picked up her pillow and lowered it toward me.

"Hey, hey, I was kidding!" I put my hands up in front of my face, as if that might stop the large fluffy object from suffocating me. I expected it to hit me, but felt nothing, so I put my hands down and looked up at Nora who was holding back a laugh.

"Man, that must've looked like a white fluffy comet coming down." She burst out laughing and I simply rested my chin on the palm of my hand.

"Haha, very funny." I said in a tone that demonstrated I did NOT think it was very funny.

"Oh come on, you know I wouldn't hurt you." Nora claimed in a more compassionate tone, smiling at me. "I mean, you looked fine earlier so I didn't ask, but I gotta know. I didn't...hurt you or anythin' when you were in there, did I?" Her hand gently picked me up and placed me on the pillow, then scratched her cheek. Nora didn't look at me when she asked this, which meant she was really concerned, even if her words didn't show it. I had never known Nora to be a timid person, but whenever she felt guilty or nervous she couldn't look anyone in the eye.

"No, no, not at all! I was a little afraid at first, but it honestly wasn't that bad." I reassured her, shaking my head.

"Wait, you mean it wasn't that bad in my shoe?" Nora asked with an awkward smirk and raised eyebrow.

The way she turned my words around sent me into a slight panic. "Well, uh, for being in a shoe? No, it's not as bad as you would think. At least next time I hope it'll be with a more comfortable pair. That was killer on my back." I joked, feigning back pain like an old man.

"Next time?" She asked, once again with that same damn expression.

"You know what I mean!" I yelled to her and then flopped onto my back, sinking into the pillow. The blanket was kind of comfortable, but this was like heaven.

"Oh no, you're the one diggin' yourself into a hole. You mean you would do it again?"

"N-no, I wouldn't!" I exclaimed with my eyes closed, although my words didn't really have any conviction behind them. Man this pillow felt great.

"What? You don't like 'em? Oh I get it, it's not the shoes. You just don't like my feet. Well, I think they're a little upset, actually." Nora said, like she was hurt and offended. I'm sure she was pouting too, but I kept my eyes closed. I then felt a major shift on the bed after a moment of silence, which made me very suspicious. My eyes opened and I was graced with a view of Nora's right foot. More specifically, the sole of her foot as it descended upon me and the pillow.

"Nora, w-" I couldn't get a full sentence out before I was buried in flesh, sandwiched between her sole and the pillow. I lied earlier about the pillow being heaven. This? This was heaven.

We're just getting started! Hopefully I'm doing a good job of showing their relationship.
