 I want a Divorce

Prologue

 June 1997

Newlyweds Brandon and Rachel Smith stood on top of the hill, overlooking the setting sun. They were a handsome couple. Brandon was 5'11" lightly tanned skin with brown hair and eyes.

Rachel was 5'6''with blond hair and brown eyes.

"Penney for you thoughts." Brandon said.

"It was a wonderful wedding. But I wonder about the future of our marriage."

"It's a bit late for cold feet."

"You misunderstand. I really want our marriage to last until death does us part.'"

She then turned to face Brandon.

"I want you, to promise me, that no matters what happens we will not divorce.”

Brandon was taken aback by his wife request. He knew a lot of her friends went through messy

divorces. And that it took a lot to persuade her to get married in the first place. So it was with

great sincerity when he replied;

"I promise, that for better or worst, our marriage will survive, until death does up part."

"Thank you." She then kissed Brandon with passion.

 Chapter oneJune 16, 1999

It was a beautiful June mourning. Not that Brandon had time to enjoy it. His phone had been

ringing off the hook. He wasn't in the best of moods when the police man, walked into the office.

"Mr. Brandon Smith?" he asked.

"What do you want?"

"We need to talk you about your wife."

"Rachel! Is she all right?"

The police man, hesitated before giving a response. Then he said,

"You should see for yourself."

Rachel wasn't sure, what to make of the mourning events. It's started as a normal day at work.

But around 10 a.m., she started to feel funny. She felt she had to get out of the building. Making a

muttered excuse to her boss, she walked out the door. When she got outside, her body just took

off.

She felt she was on a rocket going skywards. The landscape around her shrank. She grew and

grew her clothes failing to keep up with her growth. Then she started bumping into nearby

buildings her body was getting too big for the parking lot.

"What's happening to me?" she cried.

At 800 feet her growth stopped. She towered over the surrounding buildings. Much to her

embarrassment she was naked. Crowds of curious people gathered around her.

"Stop staring at me. Somebody get a doctor. And tell my husband Brandon Smith what

happened." She cried.

Brandon couldn't believe his eyes. He always considered his wife beautiful. But now she was

totally without a blemish. She was also naked. Not that she anything to be embarrassed about.

Still, she tried to cover up.

"What happened to you, honey?"

"I don't know. I was at work, when I felt funny. When I went outside for air I grew to my present

size. What are we going to do?"

"I don't know Rachel. Well think of something"

Brandon wanted to hold his wife. But she was way too big. So they settled for him hugging one of

her fingers. He prayed that the doctors would find out what caused her growth and the cure her. So

they could have a normal life again.

 August 17, 1999

Brandon approached his wife, with great hesitation. Over the last two months her personality had

changed. She got used to being a GTS-Goddess. He still cursed the day Rose Crusher showed up

and told Rachel what she was and what her potential was. Now she acted like she was the most

important woman in the world. That people had to do what she said or else. Like her dress, for

instance she hated being naked, so she made people make her an entire wardrobe.

Today Rachel was wearing a low cut red dress that made her looking stunning. She was giving

orders to a bunch of politicians. Brandon came up behind her, and said,

"Honey we need to talk."

Rachel turned around. He was always amazed that she was able to hear normal sized people.

"Yes honey."

"I care about you Rachel. But I can't take it any more."

Rachel frowned. She had a bad feeling about where this was leading. She turned to the politicians

and said,

"I'll get back to you later. I and Brandon need to have a talk."

She then gently picked Brandon off the ground then carried him away. Brandon did not like

being carried in the palm of her hand. He was afraid of falling to his death, for he was hundreds of

feet off the ground.

About a mile out of town Rachel stopped walking she brought Brandon up to her face.

"Why can't you take it any more?" she asked.

"When you first became a GTS-Goddess I was in denial. I though the doctors would find a way to

bring you back to your normal size."

"This IS my normal size now. You just got to accept that."

"But I'm the size of a bug to you. I miss holding you in my arms. I miss our nights in bed."

"We can still have a sex life."

Brandon laughed.

"Yeah right. I would probably get crushed if I went into your vagina. No, the size difference

between us is just too great."

"Well Brandon. If I could, I would enlarge you to my size. But I can't, and the other GTS-Goddess

have made it clear that they don't want mega giants in GTS-Space. But they are willing to turn

you into a GTS-Goddess pet."

"I'm no pet. " Brandon cried in an angry voice.

"Clam down. What I mean is they would increase your durability. You'll be able to withstand

falls and anything else my body can dish out. Would that be great?"

"I would become a freak." Brandon thought. He wanted to tell her so, but Rachel hated the word

freak. She actually killed a few people, who dared called her a freak.

"I want a normal life. " Brandon pleaded.

"Sorry honey. It's not in the cards. To be honest with you, I don't want to return to a normal life."

"You don't want to be Human again?"

"Nope. "

Brandon sighed. He was afraid it would come to this.

"Rachel I want a divorce."

Rachel mouth dropped open in shock. Did she hear right?"

"Have you forgotten your promise?"

"No. But when I made it I didn't expect you to become a GTS-Goddess. I was prepared to except

everything form illness to poverty. But being married to a skyscraper is more than I can handle."

"I am not a skyscraper. I am a GTS-Goddess." Brandon could sense the anger in her voice. If he

Wasn’t several hundred feet off the ground he probably would have made a run for it. So he tried a

different tact.

"I'm a mere mortal. You’re a goddess. Were just not compatible"

"I refuse to become the victim of a divorce. We are bond by our wedding vows. We just need to

work harder at our marriage."

"But our marriage has become a farce. Have you seen what the media says about us?"

"No. And I don't care what the media says. The answer is still no. I'll talk to you later when you

come to your senses."

"My mind is made up Rachel. I want out."

Rachel was fuming. She wanted to drop Brandon, but managed to suppress the urge. She lowered

him to the ground and said,

"Go, before I do something a might regret."

Brandon didn't need to be told twice, he took off in a flash. Rachel watched him go. When he was

out of sight. She began to cry.

 August 18, 1999

Brandon Smith walked into Sean Hunter office. Sean was a long time friend of Brandon. He was

expecting this visit and been dreading it.

"Sean buddy. You got to help me."

"Sorry Brandon. I can't help you."

"But you dealt with divorce cases for years. I'm an American citizen. It's an American's right to

get a divorce."

"For anyone else that would be true. But Rachel has made it clear that anyone who grants you a

divorce is in deep trouble. Since she is a GTS-Goddess, her word is law."

"But the marriage has become a joke. Imagine you been shrunk to size of insect. How that effect

your relationship with April?"

"Leave my wife out of this."

"Sorry. But my point is, I'm the size of a bug compared to Rachel."

"I can sympathize with you Brandon. But there nothing I can do."

"Wait a moment. Rachel was mortal when I married her. Now she is a goddess. Doesn't that make

my marriage to her invalid?"

"Nice try. But like I said, her word is law. Take my advice Brandon. Make up with Rachel. Before

she gets really mad and murders you."

"She is already mad at me. Goodbye bye Mr. Hunter." Brandon then walked out of Sean's office

slamming the door behind him.

While Brandon was talking to Sean Rachel was talking to her fellow GTS-Goddess via the

goddess communication net.

Rachel: "I could really use some advise. My marriage is going on the rocks."

Goddess Susan: "He just a man. Who cares what he thinks?"

Goddess Margaret: "I agree. If you ask me, you're better off killing him."

Rachel: "But I care about him. If I murdered him, I would live with the guilt, for all eternity.

Something I'm not prepared to do."

Goddess Margaret: "You’re starting to sound like Darlene. I want nothing more to do with you."

Rachel: "Has anyone else dealt with a situation like this? I mean are any of the other GTS-Goddess married? Or have boyfriends?"

Rose Crusher: "A few of the GTS-Goddess used to be married, but their husbands either died of

old age or got crushed to death.  When it comes to boyfriends only a handful has boyfriends."

Rachel: "Would it be possible to meet the ones with boyfriends? I would like Brandon to talk to

some of those boyfriends. That way he may get some ideas on how to cope."

Rose Crusher: "I'll arrange something. But to be quite frank Rachel, he is your slave. His wishes

are of no certain to you."

Rachel: "I can tell you never been married. I want him to be my friend. I don't want to treat him

like a slave, unless I have to. When I got married, they didn't encourage making a slave out of

your mate. God would not approve of it."

Rose Crusher: "You care about what God thinks? If you’re not careful Rachel, you be considered a black

sheep just like Darlene."
