[POV: Alicia]

Alicia Steele was intrigued by her upcoming date. She knew this would be unconventional in nature. Alicia recognized Maria from the nail salon she usually went to get her nails done, but she never had the chance for Maria to do her nails.

Alicia certainly heard the rumors about people being shrunken. From things Stephanie told her, Alicia had reason to believe those rumors were true. “I feel kind of guilty. What about Roger?”

“I guess, if confronted, I could say I was raped LOL.”

“Lol! You’re too funny. What are you gonna do about it? Report my foot to the police.”

“Yeah, gonna make sure it gets some jail time.”

Stephanie laughed again. She really enjoyed her time with Kevin. It was rare that she met another person who understood her. She knew that Roger was her boyfriend of course but Stephanie didn’t want to lose Kevin.

“I think I know a way to deal with that.”

Stephanie brought her foot gently on Kevin’s body letting him squirm underneath her sole. Kevin felt amazingly refreshing on her foot. Stephanie was pretty sure that Kevin had less stamina this time around but he was clearly enjoying himself.

After a few moments, Stephanie removed her foot.

“Dang”, said Kevin, “I think you just like putting your foot on things.”

“I’m gonna miss you this summer.”

“Aww, you have to go back to Cali?”

“Yep. Spending the summer with my parents and probably going to spend most of it getting high and drunk with friends.”

Stephanie shook her head at Kevin. She knew that substance abuse was Kevin’s main coping mechanism. Stephanie wanted to save Kevin from himself.

“Maybe you could spend the summer with me. I’ll talk to Roger and..”

“I don’t think that would work out so well. Roger’s a cool guy and I wouldn’t want to do anything to hurt him.”

“But I don’t want you to do anything reckless and, frankly, I’m going to miss our late-night conversations.”

“Yeah, me too. But I’m a phone call away. And soon, Roger will be back from Venice and you can forget about me.”

“I don’t think I can forget about you, Kevin. And I don’t want to either.”

Kevin began to blush.

“Aww”, cooed Stephanie, “I hope that we’re the best of friends forever.”

Stephanie poked her big toe at Kevin’s body.

“What about Amy?”

“You’re both my best friends.”

“I guess we Liangs have a pull on you.”

“I think it’s the charm in both of your eyes!”

“So, what do you want to do now? Big Stephanie.”

“Little Kevin, I have the best idea – I know who might make the perfect girlfriend for you!”

Kevin shrugged. But Stephanie thought this could be a win-win. This woman flirted with Roger a little too much.

“She’s tall, sophisticated, and rich – Julie Hornblower!”

[POV: Kevin]

Kevin was skeptical. He met Julie a couple of times when hanging out with Stephanie and her friends. Julie was gracious and impossibly wealthy but he thought that Julie would be instantly turned off by his more hyper personality. Plus Julie was three inches taller than him when he was normal-sized. Kevin knew the real reason Stephanie was trying to ship him and Julie.  

“Julie is impressive and nice”, said Kevin, “but do you really think a guy like me and a woman like her would click?”

“Opposites attract!”

“A psychological study I was reading about indicates that isn’t actually the case. We’re more inclined to be attracted to those of similar characteristics.”

“Or we’re more attracted to those who we want to be!”

“Besides being crazy rich, there’s honestly not much I dream of being like Julie Hornblower.”

“Once you’re in with a Hornblower, you will be set for life!”

Kevin kissed Stephanie’s foot. Her toes wiggled at the stimulus and began to playfully rub his body. He had sincere doubts that he would get along as well with Julie as he did with Stephanie.

“I think I’m in love with your giant feet.”

“Julie has even bigger feet! She wears a size 11 shoe. And she’s playful when she wants to be.”

“Has Julie given any indication that she’s interested in me?”

“Ummm, but Julie and I don’t sit around chatting about hot guys in our spare time – she could like you for all I know.”

“So you’re going to set this up for me?”

“Sort of. Maybe you guys could hook up at my birthday party? Plus Julie may not look like it, but she can handle her liquor like you – see something you two have in common!”

Kevin chuckled – but he knew the truth.

“I think I know your true motive for wanting me to go with Julie. I doubt I’m her type but I know you’re worried about Julie and Roger.”

“Not totally true! I know Roger is loyal but Julie got a copy of the shrinking machine – apparently with no complaints from Brian because Julie is “mature” but if she falls for you – then…”

“I think Julie was as surprised as you she was hitting on Roger when she was drunk. Maybe she can’t hold her liquor as well as me.”

“Yeah, yeah – Mr. I Need 10 Shots for a Buzz. But Julie will make you set for life – rich girls! Look how happy Maria is with Veronica.”

“That’s true love, Steph. Maria doesn’t give a shit about money.”

“If you go out with Julie, we’ll totally spend time like this again!”

Kevin sighed. He knew he enjoyed being shrunken by Stephanie.

“Ok, I’ll ask Julie out.”

“Yayyy”, squealed Stephanie accidentally smothering Kevin between her toes. Kevin didn’t mind though and gave each toe a kiss.

“But – got a text, looks like I got another mission – let’s go!”

“Oh yeah, badass Stephanie!”

Stephanie put on her flip-flops with Kevin between her toes.
