Nice little tale of redemption...kind of a mix of bittersweet and endearing, if that makes any kind of sense.

I stupidly missed the deadline to give feedback for GentleApril19 but this was one of my favorite stories. The prose is a bit confusing in some places but writing all the narration in terms that the giantess would use did a lot to make the story immersive. You also did a great job characterizing her and sprinkling in little details about the world as well.

In the contest categories I would've voted this story as the most genre transcending because it feels like a genuine fantasy parable about a giant. It's free from a lot of cliches and assumptions that mark other stories as being fetish material while still keeping the size element central to the plot (as opposed to a story about something else that just happens to feature giant/tiny characters).

Thanks so much!  I can't believe it took me this long to see your comment, I need to check this website more often.  You're exactly right about what I was aiming for, the Transcending Genre category was the one I most hoped to crack.

Interesting concept. I take it that she destroyed the village in her youth but came to regret her actions as she grew older?

Author's Response:

You nailed it, Pixis!  Always thought a mature giant might come to have different feelings about the way she use to treat smaller people, and try to make amends much later.  Seemed perfect for the GentleApril 2019 prompt: A main character of 45 or older.
