First, you do a phenominal job of conveying the terror and despiration of shrinkies in an apathetic, dangerous world.  Honestly I'm amazed these shrinkies have this much energy, or that they aren't extinct yet.  The duality of Ryan's loved ones too, how much they (supposedly) care about him but so casually dismiss other shrinkies as bugs or snacks.

 

Second, Ryan's position is understandable but I'm also interally yelling at him for being such a coward when it comes to telling Emily and his mother what's going on and what they almost did.  Just tell them man!  Given his decision at the end, to simply leave, that came as a surprise.  I'm interested to see what Ryan will do out in the world.  Surely, he will encounter plenty other dangers but after surviving all that he has so far, he should know caution by now.

 

And props to Emily for still thinking of Ryan as a person.  She may not be as considerate as she should be, but her heart's in the right place.

I'm also interested to see how Emily and Ryan's mother will react to his disappearance.  Maybe Emily will find some dried up nacho cheese on her purse pocket and remember that shrinky she tried to gulp down claiming to be Ryan.  I find a certain joy nowadays in seeing giants realize what they've done and being all guilty about it.
