Forgive me, I was just extrapolating from Amber's crowd.
Sam's condition must be considered pathetic and boring if all of his peers decided to "forget" him. I suspect somebody must have run the numbers and figured out that he should be easily grababble these days.

Ah, that's touched on in chapter 3. The whole thing's 4 chapters and written already, but I'm going to put it out one day at a time. I felt putting Tammy all out at once was not in my best interests for GiantessWorld fame. ;P

While Karen and Amanda are a bit reckless and lacking in foresight, they are above average in compassion (for your characters) in that neither of them seems to have considered trying to leverage Sam's condition to make money. Fortunately, pharmaceuticals are known to expand one's horizons.
Speaking of expanded horizons, I'm fully on board and looking forward to Sam's descent. I wonder what Stacy's up to now?
