This is my absolute favorite story and I read it frequently. I can't seem to find many like it. Thanks for writing this.

I'm not a fan of this kind of stories(*), but

  1. for whatever reason, I like Queensville, and
  2. imho this alternative ending came out much better than the original - bravo!

 

(*) unlike far too many of my favorite authors :(
