@TomSpeedy: what was I lying about?

So... It appears that Cady is a normal human, however, the “eat you up” comment makes me wonder if she might be related to Cerys.   The descriptions of the Omegas and the attitudes that the other students have towards them is telling.  The reference to the sisters being "connected" goes back to an earlier posting of mine where I discussed the logistics required to keep a steady supply of men for the sister’s consumption. The fact that they are so connected supports my theory that the Omega sisters permeate the University at the highest levels to ensure the sorority’s plans proceed unimpeded.  That no one and nothing gets in their way.  For so many college men to continue to disappear for so long seems to indicate that there are additional forces at work here.  I suspect that local law enforcement, etc. are also in the sister’s pockets…

Author's Response:

Lol, the eat you up may be just an innocent expression or... it does seems as if the decades this has been happening the Omegas have protected themselves and set things up to be able to continue their reaping unmolested. Who knows how deep the rabbit hole goes? Well, other than me.

Nuts!  She just had to say that “I could just eat you up” thing, didn’t she?  Now I don’t know.  It could be the ‘Megs influence on local language.  Or it could be something she got from this Carol (who must be one of them,  the local coffee shop is too good a place to get the skinny.)

And, yes.  It would be awesome if Deacon got a move on, just not really realistic.  As a character he’s just right, concerned, but not overly so.  Time is the only thing that can arouse his suspicions now.  When Oliver is too late he should get worried.   “Snobby” and “connected” are cause for concern, not evidence of a roommate in peril.

Thanks for the response to the earlier review Duggernaut.  If I were to speculate on the moral influences of the ‘Megs I’d say they were irrelevant at this point.  At least as far as their chances for redemption go.  Anyone seen the movie Manhunter?  Will Graham, an FBI consultant is looking for a serial killer by getting into his head.  At one point he sums up “This started from an abused kid, a battered infant... My heart bleeds for him, as a child. Someone took a kid and manufactured a monster. At the same time, as an adult, he's irredeemable. He butchers whole families to pursue trivial fantasies. As an adult, someone should blow the sick fuck out of his socks.”  Considering the years of suffering and death they have to their credit (and barring some outside influence) I’m completely there with the ‘Megs.

At the best, if they have some kind of “cabin in the woods” type justification.  If the sacrifice of people like Oliver and Cam were necessary and the 'Megs were worth a bucket of warm hamster vomit,  the tiny guys would be treated like heroes....they would want for nothing to show what they have given.  Clearly not the case.
If they have some hall where they keep the little wax figures of people they’ve destroyed...if only the “selected sons” and they all go there and are reverent for a moment....or just find the figures of their fathers,  that is not a price.  That is not balance.  It is a moment of feeling uncomfortable and then going back to being a monster.
It is not vanity that paves their way to deserving a special hell (next to molesters and people who talk in movie theaters) it is a lack of character and compassion.  Vanity would require them to feel themselves to be good or moral.  Not be moral, just feel moral.  You cannot knowingly betray someone and brush that aside if you are capable of morally judging yourself.  I see that as lacking any hope of redemption.   Again, without some outside influence effecting their behavior.
And lets look at what this means for “go along girl” Harmony.  It is best illustrated in your own story “Anna’s Awakening.” (Which I am currently enjoying the heck out of.)

This exchange happens in chapter 23.

Brenda, now on hands and knees, nodded vigorously as she crawled toward Anna. “I’ve been a horrible mother, I’m sorry, I’m so, so sorry,” she blubbered reaching up with a small hand.

“Save your crocodile tears. You’re not sorry for what you were doing, for trying to see me destroyed, you’re just a frightened little woman willing to say anything to stay my wrath,” Anna replied flatly. “Contrition after the fact is hollow and meaningless.”

Kinda says it all.  She never even asked if she could sit out the destruction of Oliver.  If she could do nothing and at least be one of those who only see evil and are silent.  No, she joined in with only the slightest prodding from the future pile of weasel poop.  So it’s an eternity sitting next to that guy that heckled “blazing saddles” getting her skin peeled off for her.

As should be obvious, I'm really into this tale Duggernaut.  It gives us wonder and horror.  What a story!

Author's Response:

Heh, heh, now even little innocent statements may or may not be indicative of the larger conspiracy at play here. Consider me a fan of Manhunter and I adore your reference! Yep, I think Anna kind of nailed it there. What's the adage, bad things happen to good people and good things happen to bad people, life isn't fair. I guess we shall see....

So Cady is not an Omega Pi girl. I thought she is one, but I guess then people would wonder if every girl is from Omega Pi. This proves otherwise.

For some reason, I think Cary is lying and she is an Omega Pi girl. Hiding her past and stuff. Funny thing is, I don't have a story either. I'm still trying to make one.

Ok, lets say Deacon does think Oliver is in trouble. What can he do? Knock on the Omega Pi house and ask for Oliver? Imagine these girls just make up excuses so Oliver can't enter.

Hmm. I think I know what will happen next. Deacon will question Brooklyn on her next run. Ask or questions or try to at least. The way he looks at her, she might as well flirt just to avoid the questions.

I can't wait for the next chapter!

Author's Response:

The whole thing has become so insidious you don't know who to trust. Things are starting to get interesting as some of the smaller details get tangled up.
