Just as Oliver's mother is out of town partaking in the ritual to steal some other poor sap's life away from him, these two crones are in town to have their fill of life energy to feed their ceaseless addictions.  As the line said, Oliver is a deer surrounded by wolves.  He is the guest invited to a dinner in his honor and he doesn't know he is the main course.  He being lead to the slaughter by the women who pretend to be his friends as they have to dozens before him.  Oliver's instincts are true, the red flags are being raised, but he still hasn't been able to put it all the pieces together.  Why hasn’t he pursued Bear’s disappearance?  Will Stan's visit be in time to intervene or will another step up to save our hero? This story is becoming my addiction.  More please…

Author's Response:

Exactly right. Oliver and Bear were never freinds, so thinking of the big fella in the hospital hasn't triggered anything in Oliver. Stan's visit is scheduled for the upcoming weekend, about three days aways....

Sersei got him good. Since she has spent so much time with Cam, she probably knows all of Cams jokes.

Vesper looking good as always. Her friends creeped me out too. Haha! "So delicious." Lol.

Things are looking good. I can't wait for the next chapter!

Author's Response:

True enough, Sersei knows her brother. Soon, Tom, soon...

The thing is, Oliver doesn't even know he's doing "the dish of the day" for all these evil cows.

And yes, even their "little" jokes are evil.

I gotta say, everytime they get away with something it just plain bugs me.

That is why I'm hooked on this story.  It may seem like this is just some "cleverness" on the villains part.  But it's really adding to the suspense.  At least if you're rooting for Oliver.  Though, being an Oliver fan is starting to feel kind of like being a Cubs fan for the better part of the 20th century.

Great work Duggernaut, you set the standard.

Peace,

Author's Response:

Heh heh heh, Oliver being on the outside of an inside joke leaves him treading water with no bottom in sight, just black silhouettes circling the depths beneath his feet in the darkness below, anticipating the frenzy to come...

Thanks!

Hoo-boy! Why is the phrase "Calm before the storm" suddenly ringing through my mind?

Author's Response:

Angry clouds gathering o the horizon, the air feel dense, charged as the storm crawls toward the shore...
