Says a lot when the person okay with holding kids hostage is completely disgusted with the rest of her team. Taylor's a scumbag with standards damn it!

Author's Response:

Well, she's gotta draw a line somewhere. Ideally, it would've been drawn well before she started threatening the lives of thousands of children, but...

That feeling when you realize your other coworkers are psychotic.

Author's Response:

So, this hostage crisis is just a glorified pick-up/take-out order? With Beta school kids as the main course?

Whoa! Bummer!!

Author's Response:

"Doggy bag" is a decent metaphor, since that'll be the only animal with any use for them if things don't go well here...

Interesting. There are so many possibilities. I don't want the guess all of them. The story is still running. But what is already clear is the different motives of the hostage takers. Alma and the two sisters and Roger aren't on the same page. Where the two sisters are so for the cause(at least the older one), Alma doesn't care about that. Many possible conflicts between them. So much characters in this stories. :)

I hope they all survive and they are made smaller than Betás and put in hamstercages so Beta children can play with them. Or give them to the fanatic Jenna.

This feels like Die Hard mixed with that subway car hijack movie of 1974.

Author's Response:

You're right that not all the hostage takers have the same motivations, and that divide will become more important as the story goes on. Thanks for reviewing. Die Hard and Taking of Pelham certainly aren't bad comparisons.

Good chapter, but I can't get that all hostage takers don't know the real reason of hostage. of course there're risk of dissention!

Author's Response:

The hostage takers were definitely aware of the risks. That's why they're dealing with this one so promptly, so it can't affect them.

Whoa. Amazing. Just amazing. Is this how the Omega series ends?

Author's Response:

There's definitely plenty more to come.

I'm not usually keen on murder, but there's always something about hand crush that I can't help but appreciate.

In any case, neat chapter as always. I can't help but think I've heard the surname Reynolds from you before..

You've done a great job creating the tension that always envelopes situations like these. I can't wait for more.

Author's Response:

Thanks! Crush isn't usually my thing either, but it fits the story here.

The hostage takers have control of the security systems : how did they not see a couple of freaking Omegas walk to the building ? Close enough to smash through a wall and grab one of them ?

And yeah, the fact that Jenna was one of the two was, by itself, a recipe for catastrophe.

Author's Response:

Alice definitely did see the Omegas out there, though she's handling a lot of work at the same time, and may not have been watching the cameras at that moment to realize Jenna was so close to the same hallway as Randall. There was enough margin for error there that Jenna could've moved in, found him, and broke in before Alice could connect the dots. Thanks for reading/reviewing!

I might by missing a few memories but this the first time I truly recall Betas being brutally murdered in such a way, well I kind of forgot about the mother and daughter etc.

Still good show.

Author's Response:

This is really the first time we've seen it in-scene in the timeline where most of the stories take place. Thanks for reading!

I kind of agree with Pkong in this case. What the Aegis forces did was incredibly reckless and will only get more beta's killed. A loose cannon like Jenna in a hostage crisis is asking for trouble.

Author's Response:

There definitely were a lot of risks involved no matter what they did. And we will see Jenna having to face up to her choice later on.

I hope the next chapter starts with a bunch of betas getting executed. Not because I ant to see them hurt, but because it is a logical and predicatble consequense of launching poorly thought out attacks on hostage takers, before securing the hostages. Seriously, what were they thinking? You don't attack hostage takers until your sure you can get all of them, otherwise hostages die!

If I were them I would start executing hostages until they give back the guy they captured, idiot though he was. What bad police work.

Author's Response:

It's a fair concern you bring up. I think what has to be taken into consideration is the context of this dystopian world, where history for Alphas and Betas has proven that, with no communications opened up and no way to know what they're up against, failing to act often does mean everyone dies anyway. It's not a perfect plan, for sure, but that's why they're doing it.

Oh, I'm looking forward to the grudge match between Halle and Tricia. It's bound to be the catfight to end all catfights!

Author's Response:

We'll definitely see some of the ladies of this story coming to blows before it's over. Thanks for reviewing!

I am confused: where is the grate? In the bathroom or beta walkway?

Author's Response:

It's in the bathroom.

Let me guess: Randall is the ex-con Alpha with a heart of gold.

Author's Response:

We'll see very soon!

Good chapter!

Unfortunately an alpha’s hand is mightier than a beta.

I got to say this is a big blow to Aegis’ perceived power if a small number of terrorists can easily take over a building with 99,000 betas inside. That Alice character, either she is a genius or used to work with Aegis at some point to know how to lock out their systems.

Another issue, this time related to the stability of the plot is Kayla. She’s stated to have godlike power; she is capable of reading minds, and manipulating size on a grand scale. What is stopping her from using her powers to easily foil these terrorists?

I’m also wondering what the fallout to this is going to be. I doubt these terrorists realize this could potentially be the catalyst to giving beta’s even more rights or making Aegis more militant in how the protect betas and prosecute alphas.

Author's Response:

Thanks! These are all good points you raise, and the story will address them in time.

One hundred thousand beta's and a unhinged Alma Warren? I morbidly wonder how many beta's are going to be alive by the end of this story.

Author's Response:

You make me sound so cruel!  ^_^

Is this going to be the Die Hard of the Omega series? Because I have no problem with that.

Author's Response:

It's safe to say this is as close to Die Hard as Omega will ever get. ;)

Wow, deranged people and hostages. That won't end well. ;) If feel sorry for those Betas. They are just born to be victims.

This is indeed dark, because there are children involved. They need John McClaine to fix this. ;)

Ex-con Alpha? Alexandra?

Author's Response:

It would definitely be nice to have John on hand here!

The ex-con is actually a new character to this story. We'll get to know her soon enough.

A bit topical considering what happened in the states. Looking forward to the rest.
