Misreading Aaron's comment I looked for "power play" and found https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_play_(sporting_term) - I didn't know the expression, is that the reason for the title? I thought it was only, well, about the literal meaning.

Author's Response:

The title is a double meaning, but not the sporting term. It refers to Judy's grab for power, as well as Scott being played with by people stronger than him (physically and politically).

I'm thinking Maggie told Judy about Nancy raping Scott. At least that's my theory.
Now Judy doesn't have to rely on any false pretenses. I like how she still cares for him and wants what's best for him, so she's his mother first and foremost.
When/if she shrinks him to her preferred size of an inch, I can't wait to see how he reacts to it or how she justifies it(or if she needs to).
I like how the words "power play" came up.

PS if it's even possible I like Judy even more now.
PPS will Judy and co be in the next installment of Time-Out? If so I'd like to see Maggie get on Judy's bad side too but just to ground her for a couple days.

Anyways, fantastic story. If you can't tell I'm a huge fan and will continue to be so.

Author's Response:

Maggie did, indeed, tell Judy about Nancy Everything is basically out in the open now for Judy, or at least as much as she's willing to put it for Scott. You will probably see Scott reach his mother's preferred height for him in the next chapter.
I love doing little jokes like that with the title.

There will be lots of returning faces in Time-out 7, including Judy, of course. Not going to spoil anything, but you may or may not be onto something with Maggie there...

Ohh I smell a tipping point. I wonder if Judy will take it farther in the next story. What about Maggie I'm sure Scott is waiting to blow-up at her and if he does he may regreat it. I also think there are some ideas brooding in her head. There are so many possiblilities that it is hard to imagine them all. All I can say is that I hope we haven't seen the last of Nancy. As for criticing the writing I only have positive things to say. This was a great story all around and I cannot wait for the last chapter. I hope this series is going to be continued since I love the characters (Maggie, Judy and Nancy). Keep up the great work.

Author's Response:

Judy definitely only plans to escalate things from now on. I'm not sure what Scott would have to blow up at Maggie for, though. She does have a lot to think about. Nancy may appear in the next story, though in a much smaller role (that's not a pun, I promise). The series will definitely continue; thanks for reading!

Author's Response:

Hahaha. Judy's skin tone is a bit paler than this, though maybe this is a day she went to a tanning salon.

Wow, this story is popular! And I can see why.

This story is so deep that everyone understands the personalities of each character and criticize them if they don't act up to their norm.

Scott seems to always be Scott, taking abusing without making a stand, and then having random outbursts that make everyone else change around him.

However, everyone else is changing their personality and stepping up to new level.

Nancy stepped up her sexual harassment and ultimately got what she wanted.

Maggie, I'm impressed with and a new chapter is rising on her face as a caring sister and it almost makes me forget about her activities with Scott in the first place. Almost.

Judy is dominant and confident as always and I still feel like she is much more of a complex character than I thought she really is. Judy has that I'm sweet, but I'm actually dangerous type, and that's to her own son! It's so easy to question Judy's actions becuase of how strange it is compared to real life. Judy acts more like a crazy nurse/teacher/counselor rather than a mother. Like someone who was meant to care for someone and is abusing it, even if that's her business in her perspective.

Well, one more chapter to go. Can't wait for it!

Author's Response:

Thanks for reviewing. I've been really happy with how big a response this story got. There were definitely changes happening for several characters here. I totally understand why people would feel uneasy about Judy's actions; she's certainly crossed over the line of mother and into something else.

Gotta agree with riczar once again on this chapter, Scott's anticipated talk with Judy ended up underwhelming and somewhat disappointing to me. Seeing as it was hyped pretty hard with his tying loose ends with Ella and enlightenment of his mother's true evils, I figured a much bigger showdown would occur.

Instead, he get beat down pretty quickly without much of a fight. Is he really just going to end up as the family pet?

I'm fairly confident that Judy's master plan won't come to bear fruit as evidenced by the stories down the timeline, but the lack of justice on Scott's end makes this story kind of inconclusive.

Hopefully the final chapter will bring some closure, at least for this story.

Or maybe it'll end with Judy reigning victorious, taking the win this time around. Maybe Scott will get his justice someday in the future.

Author's Response:

I see what you're saying, although the ending wasn't intended to be a showdown - Scott just doesn't have the tools right now to do anything about his mother's plans. This was just intended to be a laying out of truths between the two. It's not like he's already doomed to be the family pet, since Judy still has an uphill battle to get more people on board with her idea in the future. It's a fair statement that Scott's not getting justice for some of what happened to him in this story just yet, though keep in mind this is one part of a continuing series, so his journey is far from over.

Speaking of Nancy,  any chance we'll see what Judy will do to Nancy so she doesn't take advantage of Scott again in the last chapter?

Author's Response:

That's probably not something that will be shown, as in all likelihood it'll just be a conversation between the women. However Judy is confident, and rightly so, that she can convince Nancy to keep things PG-13 with Scott from now on.

Man, it's kinda hard to read Judy.  I do believe she's upset over what Nancy did and i look forward to see how she makes sure Nancy never does it again.  But at the same time,  the way she treated Scott in this chapter. ..

Though this chapter did confirm to me that part of her motivation is making sure her "little boy" stays with her forever.

Also,  I'm guessing Maggie told Judy about Nancy?

Looking forward to the next chapter!

Author's Response:

She definitely wants Scott to stay in her grasp for the foreseeable future, though not necessarily forever, as we may see in future stories. Judy has a plan here, for sure. And yes, Maggie told Judy about Nancy.

Thanks for reviewing!

Grea chap to show judy still determinated, confiandent (easy with techlogic lobby) and pervert. will Maggie or Kyle in final chap?

Author's Response:

I'd say all of those adjectives fit Judy to an extent. Maggie and Kyle will be absent in the last chapter, though there will be one other person appearing in some fashion.

So that's it?  It sounds like its going to be more of the same treatment for the rest of his life.  No forgiveness, no redemption.  Why'd she even bother hearing anything Scott had to say?  It doesn't change anything.  The whole Nancy thing proves my point.  She should be on her way to a jail cell, but because Scott is a shrinkee, he doesn't matter.  Judy makes all these claims that she loves him, but I imagine its not as a son, but a favored toy or pet.  A normal parent would be enraged by someone raping their child, but she's just going to tell her not to do it again.  And Scott's not asking enough of the right questions, or is being too general.  He should be asking for specific examples of what Judy envisions his life to be.  Many of these questions I've asked in previous comments.  Is he going to be her foot slave, or is going to be able to find a real job?  What about relationships, sex, marriage?  He won't have any possessions either, since everything is built for normal sized people.  I would go crazy without a computer and a TV.  Judy isn't there supervising him all the time and others have taken advantage of Scott during these absences.

Author's Response:

For Judy, this conversation is less about actually turning Scott to her side right now and more about at least making him aware of the full stakes, as well as what she sees as his easiest option now. She certainly does have other interests impeding her role as a good parent. The questions Scott should be asking will arise in time; for now, he's just trying to wrap his head around what Judy's done to him and is still in the process of trying to do. It won't be addressed in this story, but Judy's plan doesn't necessarily involve enslaving Scott for the rest of his life - his purpose for her is mainly in the here and now during her campaign, as well as her association with Techilogic.

Judy doesn't give two shits about any kind of justice. Raping a convict is still illegal. Just "talking" to Nancy doesn't absolve her of her crime.

Author's Response:

Judy's vision of justice is definitely pretty perverted by this point. Pun semi-intended; in seriousness, though, you're correct about her possible absolution.
