Only chapter 24 will answer that question for you, Charis. ;-)

Author's Response:

Wow, thanks for all of the reviews Carycomic. I really appreciate the honest reactions you gave me for each chapter; the feedback is extremely valuable. Also, if I'm not mistaken, you must have read the entire story up to this point in one sitting. That may be the greatest compliment of all. I hope you enjoyed it. In response to some of your remarks:

"Lilith? As in, the mind-reading redhead from the Silver Age Teen Titans?" Not sure who that particular character is, to be honest. I just chose the name because it seemed like one that someone online would use; looking back, I maybe shouldn't have included it at all, since that character ended up being quite trivial to the overall story.

"A witch who's a Lionel Ritchie fan? She must be using a "Commodore" computer systerm (lol!)." Nice pick up! I just threw that in there as an Easter Egg; I'm glad somebody nabbed it.

"Huh? Didn't Charis and Gage get jailbroken, at the same time?" So yeah, only Gage got jailbroken in the beginning. Maybe I'll go back and re-word the beginning so that it's more obvious.

"What road is that? That he had secretly fallen in love with Charis before the "jailbreak?" But, that he's now developing equally strong feelings for Rima?" An interesting speculation... I'll leave you in suspense.

"Whoa! And, here, I thought he might've been in an accident similar to Rima's...only worse. Makes me now wonder if he was terminally ill!" Another interesting speculation... Let's just say that Gage's... situation... plays a huge role as the story progresses. If that sounds ominous... well then I'm doing my job.

"Only chapter 24 will answer that question for you, Charis. ;-)" Maybe not Chapter 24, but perhaps by Chapter 30 we'll have it all figured out.

Thanks again for all of your comments, Carycomic. I hope you'll stick around for the rest.
