Author's Response: Nope! That part was inspired by an actual "info-mercial" for a glorified doggie-vest that supposedly keeps the phobic ones calm during a thunderstorm. If I can find a recording of it, on YT, I'll post it to you.

Don't suppose the thunder jacket's designer is related to the boy who designed Thunderpants? LOL. (That was a for a kid who couldn't stop farting)
