I wonder if there are just as many men as women, but that most of the men are cooped up at home. Sure, there are “doggy doors” between the rooms of the Dean’s house, but was there one to the outside, or are men only meant to go out with a female escort? Dean might have it pretty good for a man of this world in that his family even lets him go to school, considering that so many girls in our world are denied that opportunity. Of course, while these girls are learning reading, writing, and arithmetic, these boys may just be learning to know their place in society.
