I love the way you tackle size change...entirely from the characters doing what we do, and just thinking about the sudden shift in perspective.

That alone would be one hell of a story.

But you didn't make things that easy for yourself.

It's rare to read an author who tackles the horror genre from the perspective of humanity at its best.

It's even rarer for the author to understand what that really means, and brutally interrogate everyone involved...and then grant them the grace to grow from it, if they're willing.

But then, I should expect no less from an author who also sees large scale problems like practical nation building and tiny details like the trust shown between two friends awkwardly mock flirting/teasing as being equally as important as the ludicrously exaggerated power dynamics that brought us all here.

Every story about dehumanization is also about what makes us human, after all...

And your stories are practically a catalog of it.

Author's Response: Thank you for the review, TheClockworkAngel. It really makes my day when I see a positive review, and it's that much better when it's so detailed and well thought out. I drew the many themes of MG from my real life experiences and interactions with people. I try to emulate the same extreme good and extreme evil that I see in the world, in my writing. As for the giantess content, well, that's just for fun. I'm glad the 'lack' of it (compared to many other stories on here) isn't a turn off for you. You mentioned my other stories. Are there any you like in particular?

The queen was surprisingly amenable to friendly relations.  Of course the lilliputian president was very smart with how he handled the situation.  Overall great story and foundation for what I hope with be more of the same.  As much I enjoy the whole "bigs toying with littles" stories, I find myself enjoying these "bigs and little getting along" stories more and more.

Author's Response:

I think that deep down neither of them wanted to fight. War is draining, and its purpose was long forgotten. If it had been any other Lilli, this probably wouldn't have ended the way it did.

Thank you for the kind words! These kinds of stories are my specialty, so I hope you will continue to enjoy what I write next.

Putting this here because I accidentally deleted a review while trying to respond to it. I don't recall your name, but I appreciate the long and very kind review! Very sorry for the mistake ^^'

Here was my response:

"Thank you! My coauthor and I worked very hard on this story concept. She probably won't want to take any credit, but I couldn't have written this without her help.

I tried to balance the action and dialogue, though a story like this does rely more on the latter. Both characters have strong wills irrespective of their race/size. I think that's what makes them compelling. Though they act like one side needs to win over the other, their fates are tied. Finding a happy ending after so much bloodshed is impossible and unrealistic, but an agreement isn't out of the question. Otherwise, there are only two outcomes: one where both sides live or one where both die. Either way, their fate is mutually assured.

I hope you'll enjoy the upcoming chapters!"

Author's Response:

Edit: This is for Zaximus. Again, I'm really sorry!

Its pretty good.

And the only smart thing to have done would be to have some container of the virus on the jet, or on himself, so if she was foolish enough to smash him it would have just infected her and the entire palace and then city. Simple deadman switch if negotiations simply failed.

I don’t think she has considered that option.

Author's Response:

She thinks so little of Lillis that she probably didn't. Who knows what the President has up his little sleeve?

It sounds like the Brobs started the war and weren't expecting the lilliputians to put up such bloody resistance.  Alyssa even admits he forced her into negotiations with the virus and her soldiers destroyed cities without a second thought. The vindictive side of me kind of wants the lillies to drag out the negotiations just to increase the brob fatalities to the virus, or at least have some steep demands to make the brobs squirm.

Ironically, in the original gulliver's travels stories, the Lilliputians are the short sighted aggressive ones while the Brobdingnagians are the more moral ones.

Author's Response:

Something like that. It was left intentionally vague so that neither side was 'fully' to blame. The Brobs just look worse because they've done more damage over the course of the conflict. The Lillis could try that, but the Queen isn't easily tricked either. I doubt she would sit by while her subjects are dying. Now that the President has an advantage, I wonder just how he'll leverage it. He is in a position to act pretty extreme, or so it seems.

Really? I never knew that. Interesting!

I'm really curious so far! I really love this setting, and this chapter was super good.

Author's Response:

Thanks! I hope you'll enjoy seeing their world from both perspectives.

So far so good.  It's refreshing to see a fight between giants and small people that isn't one-sided.  The lilliputians were still losing of course but were inflicting damage on the Brobs.  Then they unleashed bioweapons to force the Brobs into negotiation.  The Lilliputian leader doesn't want to fight but knows the Brobs won't just stop, hence needing to force them with that bioweapon that targets Brobs specifically.

It'll be interesting to see what the Brob queen thinks of the smaller race.

Author's Response:

Thanks! It'd be no fun if it was a massacre. The tension is what makes the story. I think you'll enjoy what comes next. Expect Chapter 2 to be told from her massive perspective.

This shall be one of my new year's resolutions! To write reviews even if I don't have much to say and encourage artists I wish to see more from! XD

I'm really excited to see where this goes. Starting the year off with some Swiftverse chracters? I'm 110% down to clown with this! While admittedly Magna Gratia was a bit too wholesome for me at the time, I nevertheless was excited to see it's title pop up in Most Recent every time it did and does. Speaking to that level of engagement I am already quite invested in this tale of yours. ;)

I also would like to pay key attention to specific details within this story. I really like what you did with the war. It's easy to see a big vs little conflict and say, "the big guys would always win because size". It's also just as easy to say, "the little guys have better technology, that's how they'd win" and not explain how they use said tech to keep an advantage. So to not only give an explanation as to why the small guys aren't getting steamrolled  but the idea that they would turn to biological warfare to deal with their bigger opponents and that it would prove effective? It's not only a fantastic idea but rather novel in giantess literature.

The ending is amazing characterization of these two leaders and the worldbuilding being put to use is quite impressive. Things like the mention that the servant carrying the plane may have lost loved ones to the Lilliputian virus or the way Leon's attendants treat him speaking to their devotion and the respect he carries, really pads out the setting and people within it. Great details. I'm very excited to see this unfold over the next few weeks even if I'm more than a little sad it will only be four chapters. I hope this keeps up! :D

Author's Response:

That's a great resolution! I appreciate that.

Admittedly, I'm not sure what you mean by Swiftverse. I made these characters myself. Either way, I'm glad they're appealing to you. The point of MG is to be overwhelmingly wholesome, so I'm happy this could be a welcome change of pace.

I did a lot of thinking when I planned out the scenario. I wanted the situation to be dire, but believable. Too often do I see 'big people win because big', and it's so predictable. I think it's ironic how the Brobs claim to be a 'superior race' while their DNA is 99% similar to their smaller enemies. A virus that targets that 1% difference they're so proud of just seemed so fitting.

Thank you! I did my best to flesh them out with the little 'time' I had. I keep my short stories to 4-5 chapters at most, and since I wanted equal time with Leon and Alyssa, that forced me to do 4. I hope my characters come across as people rather than big person and small person. Size is just a tool I use to convey a greater idea. I hope you enjoy what comes next!
