Decent chapter.

Bigots hate being called out on their bigotry more than anything else so good job showing that. Jeannine is really naive. She should have know better after the club incident.

Author's Response: It's tempting to label people. Everyone has the capacity for change, it's just a matter of willingness to try. Bigot or not, at least she's at least decent enough not to harm him.

Wonderful chapter. I guess it's natural. Morality is something really difficult to perceive when looking at it from all its shades. If we place ourselves in context, the trauma is too much to overcome. We're talking about a person who literally watched everyone he loved die in a second by the same being that later ate his kind. I don't know why, Jeannine, knowing all the pain that Nick felt, made a decision to put MG in her care.

So it's only natural that the town is scared for her after suggesting that Jeanine destroy it to be safe. But Nick's is another story.

If Jeanine doesn't act as some sort of mediator, it's impossible for those two to at least get to tolerate each other. Neither of them relents on their perspectives but I think fundamentally the apology should initially come from Sara. Still I don't think that's enough. Is Nick so naive as to think that Sara's apology means anything in the face of the horrors he experienced? Please, that won't ease the pain he's feeling.

It's hard to move on under those circumstances, dude. Nick lives a trauma that Sara does not suffer at all. In fact, the guy sees Sara as the embodiment of the same species that destroyed his life and would do it again if they weren't protected by Jeannine. It's hard to get empathy, support, or even forgiveness here. Let's see how the author manages to blend these two to a certain extent. Maybe Jeannine will help a little, huh? :)

Wow, I'm already causing spoilers again, xd

Author's Response: You raise some excellent points, kenrios. Great analysis of the chapter, honestly! This issue will definitely not be wrapped up in a chapter or two. I hope you'll follow it as it develops. Expect the unexpected from everyone involved.
