Thanks for including that scene. And sandals aren't a Zetan footwear? I was hoping more would wear them.

Author's Response: Like a lot of earth fashion they would probably take time to spread, Nea being a spoiled and anti-human princess wouldn't likely have worn them.

Some Zetan had to have gotten an enter town or village and made them rebuild (unless they actually got the whole town). And the whole owning-an-ant-hill like situation. So Jolene probably can find one of those and all accessories.

She’ll get an tier up in devotion from her Zetans from that, won’t she.

And also, this island party will probably net her tons if fancy cloths from the leftovers. She already took an expensive ship, why stop there.

Author's Response:

Yeah she'll have lots of nice things lol

The revelation of Nea’s ancestors being the one Zetan princess saved by the mercy of her lil’ star crossed human lover is just the sweetest goddamn thing haha. And I love how it makes Nea’s own xenophobic views on Zetan racial purity and supremacy all the more laughable because she’s the literal love child of different races coming together.

Author's Response:

Yeah at the beginning she's pretty insecure and bitter over the whole thing, most Zetans have yellow eyes, hers are blue.

That scene with Kira and that man who tried to attack her doesn't surprise me. Humans aren't the forgive and forget type and despite the common threat of the Cephalo, they aren't just going to forget the shit the Zetans did to them.

Author's Response:

Nope, there are still plenty of people who are pissed about everything that happened, even if they play it cool for now. In moments of tension like this some people are inevitably going to snap and lash out, even if their target is an innocent like Kira.

Man does Jolene get Zetans.

If this keeps happening she might be able to start a small village or town she retires. Thought small in more then just population number.

Author's Response: Yeah she's a regular collector of them isn't she? She might have to look into one of those human enclosures someday, not for humans of course...

Can't believe how sad the notion of Nea and Kurt being apart made me despite everything Nea has done. Also good for Joey, I wonder what hes gonna get tatooed though.

Author's Response:

Well Telma doesn't want him to get one, but he seems pretty determined...

Nice, I liked the feet scene. I hope to see more. Any chance a Zetan can put a tiny human in her shoe and wear him as an insole? Maybe it should be sandals because an enclosed shoe could suffocate him?

Author's Response:

I'll see what I can do, glad you're enjoying it

Jolene is really enjoys her work doesn’t she. Guess she’ll also get a chance for more unwilling Zetans at this party, and considering their usage of other humans, Jolene might actually get her first taste of them as punishment, beadies obtaining the governor, some important looking people, and the princess. Cleaning her boots might be in order before seeing her girls again, if she stops on enough or through a ‘small’ crowd.

And two thoughts I had: ine the shrink tech was made, some Zetans long before the Earth invasion had to have filled the inside of a very big cargo ship with shrunken plant and wildlife, had it take over the floor or several, then shrunk themselves down with some industrial ray and live “in nature” at sub cm size. Of]r just whole other living. Probably cheeper and more isolated then looking for a whole new planet. even just set course for the void and not really be seen again.

Or even had a shrink ray on on everything in the hold that slowly made things smaller. Takes consistent power, but way more time, so they might be even smaller then at first, after enough years.

Shrunken communities, long term or constant shrink ray exposure, or even shrinking and already shrunk thing has to have been experimented with. (And a growth ray, what difficulties come from that)

The second thought is, with high heels being a new thing from earth, and power armour already being a statement for a “warrior” culture, someone has had to try and train in them, make new fighting styles, or make the heels actually be practical. Classic me in this in wedges. Though depending on how tech work wen shrunk, someone could make and shrink a fancy stabilizer/compensator system (grave tech or other and install it into their boots with high heels. As much as it would be a small subset of enthusiasts who make/modify/customize their own armour. And theres gadda be dress armours, some empress in history making some requirement at her balls to be only in armour, and so everyone had to work on making them extra fancy for that time.

And of course, shrinking normally big pieces of tech is used in places, save space on supercomputers, reactors and fuel storage, or other systems on ships.

And a ten rating as always.

Author's Response:

There are probably all sorts of Zetan oddities using size changing tech out there in the far corners of the galaxy.

Jolene will definitely have a chance to have a little fun during the course of her mission, her pets will no doubt be excited. Don't want to say much else for fear of spoilers.

I wanted to pos the thought a while ago, but with the fact that the shrinking tech exists, I would be surprised if the Zetans didn’t have some project of magic ship grade shrink rays. For either other ships to the point of using them as dildos, or even making cities handheld.

But with how hearing that a larg amount simply died all of a sudden, and that relations with humans needed improving and that whole situation, and all the rebuilding snd bigger enemy, it probably was not restarting even if if the scientists and engineers didn’t died, and if a prototype exists it probably in some storage somewhere. Thought tank level ones might be easier, and those might make a town crushable with one foot. But also are either in storage, or/snd the changes meant they needed to be restricted.

Other one is just what industrial shrink rays can do compared to the handheld ones, since those would be actually large, and probably stationary and complex, equipment.

Plus whats the history with shrink way, (could be something we learn a little as the story goes on, passive world building) who and why were they invented, did their neighbouring alien civ have shrink ray tech too? And do the Cephalos have it? Will we learn it latter and why they don’t seem to make ad much use, or why the shrink rays wren’t used in them? Just interesting questions.

Since everyone has been asking about Zetan culture and a bit of history, like their 50-1 female-to-male ratio, lesbianism must be expected, for most if not nearly/all of their history.

Still, story is doing good 👍.

Author's Response:

The Zetans do have bigger shrink rays that would require ship or vehicle mounting, so yeah if they were so inclined they could probably reduce a skyscraper to dildo sized, and who's to say it didn't happen once or twice during the invasion? Probably the kind of thing the Cultural Office says didn't happen lol. Shrinking bigger things to smaller size requires more power, for example Kira's handheld model can reduce Adam to three inches, but anything much bigger than him it just wouldn't work on, Nea's rifle was powerful enough to shrink a car, Joey, and Kurt all in one shot.

Shrink rays can't penetrate shields, which are on almost all power armor and fighting vehicles in advanced species. They were free to kind of go wild with the shrink tech as a weapon when humans were more primitive, now they'd have a harder time of it, as Nea found out when she attempted to shrink the power armored police in the parade. As for the technology itself only Zetans had it, which was something they were extremely proud of. As part of the alliance humans might have the knowledge to build them they don't have the industry to do so on a wide scale like the Zetans do, so humans probably get any shrink weapons they want (which isn't a lot) from Zetans rather than making any on Earth.

Also yeah the Zetans don't really blink or think twice about lesbianism, glad you're liking it so far!

With all these other relationships here for contrast it kind of makes me wonder about the type of relationship our protagonists will have by the end. Kurt seems like a simple guy so I'm assuming he is just gonna want an equal relationship with Nea once they further/completely reconcile for what she did to him, but what about Joey? It seems to me like him and Telma are growing exceedingly close, so I wonder if he'll be able to put away his playboy ways for her once this is all over.

Author's Response: Joey is definitely infatuated, Telma's something he hasn't seen before, something he can't get on Earth.

I wonder what reward Kurt will receive for saving the princess?

Author's Response:

She doesn't have much to give him given that she's a fugitive now, but I imagine our boy will get something for his trouble

 Nice chapter

I like these Adam/Kira and Smith/Tayla side stories. Any chance there could be a threesome with Smith, Tayla and Liana?

Author's Response: From a narrative standpoint the side stories let us look at the rest of the universe and how it's reacting to our protags, from a smut standpoint it's more dynamics to play with, Kira and Adam's fairly playful and equal one, Jolene's weird S&M one, and Tayla and Smith's... whatever you want to call it. As for a threeway between the princess and her two bodyguards yeah that's almost certainly going to happen between now and then end of the story lol.

Great chapter. I’m glad Joey got to experience a wild ride too. Nea seems more…appreciative of humans now, though I’m curious to see how long it’ll last once she’s back around her own kind, ones that think little of humans no less. A bit of real world experience is good, but deep-seated beliefs are hard to change.

Author's Response:

Yeah dealing with the populace on Alrec is going to be hard on all of them, Joey and Kurt's trust in the two Zetans is new and kind of fragile.

I don't really care for Amazonian women, but I do love femdom. I particularly like a smaller woman dominating a larger man.

I expected that polygamy would be a thing due to the severe lack of men among Zetans.

Author's Response:

Can't argue with a love of femdom, though usually in my stories one way or another the woman ends up bigger lol.

Nea's face-heel turned seemed pretty abrupt to me. Other than that, not a terrible chapter.

I know this is focus on shrinking and giantesses, but I like that you included a regular sized sex scene, will there be others?

Also, by Tayla taking Craig as a consort, does that mean she wishes to marry him? And she wants to share him with 20 other women? Will they be co-wives or something?

Author's Response:

Yeah I'll work on the Kurt Nea scenes, you're the second person to say it seemed a bit abrupt.

As for sex scenes I like the occasional tall girl or smallish Amazon x normal guy in these things, we'll see some other sizes before the end.

Zetans don't really have a concept of monogamous marriage, their gender ratio means most Zetan females end up sharing a male even if you might say that a Zetan male probably has a primary female(s) he spends most of his time with. The royal family gets consorts, which are males that are reserved for themselves and might be shared or loaned as a favor to friends. The consort arrangement is a lot closer to a marriage than the usual Zetan arrangement, but what's implied there is that Tayla intends to share him around with her social circle, and he might be "entertaining" about 20 guests at their party.

Another great chapter with some good action and more world building. I like the character and relationship building with Nea, how she is growing to appreciate humans more and admitted her mistakes.

Very interesting interaction between the humans and Cephalos as well. I recall on chapter 4, the Cephalo saying, "The abhorred species was long thought destroyed, but now in this far-flung reach of space they had been found again, few in number, and primitive". And now with the primordial hatred Kurt and Joey had when facing the Cephalo, perhaps humans existed in the Galaxy before in ancient times? If so, I wonder if the Zetans did as well and if they've interacted before. And interesting twist if so.

I continue to look forward to reading more. I'm also curious to know if you took inspiration from any other sci fi franchises. Keep up the good work!

Author's Response:

Yeah the implication you can draw from the Cephalo and Human instinctive hatred for each other is that we've all met before, I'll leave further implications to your imagination for now. Zetans on the other hand... well recall that the Cephalo rather dismissively refers to them as a "food-species."

There are a lot of sci-fi franchises I'm pulling stuff from, Star Trek is obviously a big one, the Zetan royal family and the whole earth farmboy and alien princess trope is a pulpier one from things like Buck Rogers or Flash Gordon. Finally the WorldWar series by Harry Turtledove inspires a lot of the post-war interaction, that series was about a group of aliens who invaded earth during world war 2 and ended up being forced to live in peace alongside humans after they failed to conquer the planet. Also the Elves from the Inwiththebooks Downfall of Humanity series inspired the pre-war Zetans in their treatment and attitude towards humans, though things took a different turn here obviously.

Maybe I'm underestimating how fast the horror of the squids could make allies of enemies but Kurt and Joey seem unnaturally forgiving and trusting given the circumstances, Nea's heel face turn makes sense to the reader and has some buildup but that's not something Kurt got to see. From his perspective he still has no reason whatsoever to trust her. Still liking the story so far for the most part but the sudden reconciliation after kidnapping and enslaving him doesn't really feel earned on Nea's part.

Author's Response: The relationship between Kurt and Nea has a long way to go, but with Nea's threats no longer on the table and them having fought together and now sharing common goals I thought it would be appropriate that Kurt warms up to her. I'll try to detail more of Kurt's thoughts on it and hopefully flesh the relationship out more as it grows, I'm trying to get better are writing these interactions so these kinds of thoughts are great, thanks.

Not a fan of Tayla. Nea is bratty and ignorant, but she’s also bigoted and openly so. Tayla clearly likes humans but, based on her interaction with Smith, doesn’t really care about consent or see them as equals. I hope she gets a wake up call. Jolene is pretty cool though. I confess, I do like the dynamic of a human and Zetan that’s both consenting on both parts AND led by the Zetan. Ahem! Great chapter!

Author's Response:

Smith isn't really unwilling, even if the relationship is moving faster than maybe he'd expect or like. Tayla obviously has a better opinion of humans than her sister, but she's also a spoiled princess used to getting what she wants, Smith might need to have a heart to heart with her at some point to straighten her out. Glad you liked Jolene, she and "her" Zetans are fun to write.

A couple things I'm wondering, are wormholes required for FTL travel?

And this Human Appreciation Society, are they a group of Zetans who regret what they did to humanity and are trying to make it up  to them, even to the point of serving individual humans like Jolene?

Author's Response:

The mechanics of it are actually discussed a bit in the upcoming chapter, but I'll just let tell you some details now. FTL can be used on established and charted hyperspace lanes, but it's slower and less safe, think days or even a week to reach your destination depending on how far you're going. A wormhole is instantaneous, which is why the Zetans built one connecting Zeta Prime to Earth, the biggest reason wormholes aren't common around all planets is because they're expensive and difficult to build, think of them like a Suez or Panama Canal tier infrastructure project.

Human Appreciation Societies are Zetans who both regret what they did and a mix of those that just genuinely enjoy Earth culture. They obviously go a little overboard in trying to show humans how nice they are, even among them though the three that follow Jolene around should be considered an extreme case that the rest of the group would probably think is way too far.
