Gah I love this story. I remember religiously checking your blog for updates back when it was being posted. Makes me want to write a slow-shrink of my own

Well, you already all the good i think of your tale, DX, but i thought i would re-iterate it in this forum :-)  You tackled an incredible amount of angles in this tale and this makes it one of the best shrink story ever!  Congrats on the completion!

This was the best, most gentle slow-shrink story I have ever read here. And, most likely, always will be. Thank you, again, for sharing it with us, DX. Way to go!

Stubborn s.o.b., that Heph. But, at least Aphrodite out-stubborned him. That's the important thing.

Btw: what does this chapter's title mean in English?

Author's Response: It means "Kingdom of Heaven"

As they used to say, back in the Sixties: "Make love, not war."

Way to go, dude! :-)

Finally reunited. The next chapter sounds like fun. He's pretty tiny now... around 1 inch I'm guessing?

EXCELLENT!

I loved Aphrodite's "Story Defense." Because, this story was one of the inspirations for my current wip: "The I.D.E.E.A. Men." And, I'm glad that you chose to have its denouement end on such a happy note. Lest you get a swollen ego, however?

Athena was goddess of (defensive) war and WISDOM. It's her sister ARTEMIS who was goddess of the hunt! ;-)

Author's Response: D'oh! I don't know how I missed that on editing. Corrected.

Yes!!! A wizarding duel a la Disney's SWORD IN THE STONE...multiplied by 20,000.

Thank you for giving us, your loyal readers, a new chapter so promptly, before the weekend.

It was a fast-paced mixture of poignancy and suspense. One that left me quite anxious for chapter 12. :-)

Virgil, huh? I thought sure that you/Jake would pick Dante. Ah, well!

This was still a great new chapter. Thanks for posting it so soon.

This story is certainly taking me places I didn't expect to go, and I am glad that you have been able to add to this often recently. DX, you are one of my favorite authors, compounded by the incredible fact that you keep referencing Heinlein, who is one of my favorite authors. Keep up the great work.

Hmmmm! I wonder if a certain old flame made one of those infamous deals with S.L.I.?

Suitably suspenseful chapter. Thanks for uploading it so promptly. :-)

wow! I dont know where i have been but I missed this gem completely. It was a real treat finding this and a total surprise that I had missed all your earlier installments. As always DX, You write excessively well and to see you try your hand at slow shrink- well" i like it, i love it, I want more of it!"  Seriously DX , another phenomenal job. I particularly like the idea of him asking his wife to place him on her when he gets so tiny that he can spend the remainder of his life as part of her. Thats just aweseom but somehow, I dont think that is the finale of you have planned. Too bad. I love that idea. Kinda like Talk to her's shrinking lover who goes inside her, forever.

On the other hand, I did like the subtle homage to THE LION, THE WITCH, AND THE WARDROBE.

The only reference I could find, on-line, to "Al'yah," was an astronomical term that roughly translates as "fatty tail of the sheep(?!)."

Author's Response:

Al'yah is actually my own creation, the one God I'm designing from scratch, as she is, as will be revealed, the First Among Equals in the Godding community, and I didn't want to use anyone's actuial God or Goddess for that role. I could get deeper into the way I've structured this particular Pantheon, but I won't right now; as a hint, I'll suggest Valentine Michael Smith's revelation from "Stranger in a Strange Land."

As for the name itself, it comes from the name "Alia," which means "rising" or "ascending."
