The set up has been established pretty nicely. But will the plan actually go through as neatly is the question?

At first it sounded it really awkward reading "woman" repeatedly.  But than I figured out what was going on before the big reveal.  How sad, it breaks the heart.  (and yet it's still "Aunt" Lakota)

Yeah, I see what you mean.  I look forward to the next installment whenever you have time for them.

You want to hear something weird? If this were ever done as a live-action TV series, a la BLACK SCORPION, I (for some weird reason) picture Nastia Liukin starring in the title role of Elevator Girl!

Author's Response:

You're right!  She very much looks the part of Kellie as I see her in my mind's eye!

A very poignant opener.

I remember that series from the 1960's! It was synidcated via my hometown's local NBC affiliate. My personal favorites, though, were the accident-prone guitarist, Super-Boing, and the three-headed Mazzarelli Brothers. LOL!

Author's Response:

I remember both characters well.  The Mazzarellis weren;t actually members of the Super 6, but they were on the show and spun off onto another series.  Super-Bwoing (from what I can find, that's the official spelling of his name, althouygh I heard it as Super-Boing back in the day) is actually referred to in one of the later strories.  I deliberately left the final fates of two members of the team vague -- Magneto Man and Captain Whammo/Captain Blammo.  Granite Man and Super Scuba, the remaining members of the Super 6, are actually key players in the story.

I'm glad you liked it!

Several things here:

1)Totally called it with the doctor.

2)Very Happy for Gemma and Stamitos

3)Glad to see the friendship with Jenna has ben saved.

4)Did I.C. know about the grandpa link to the tech?

5)Wow, that sucks about Dakota.  (and for me because it's cliffhanger.)

Author's Response:

Several responses here

1) Yeah, Dr. Dekker was pretty obvious from a reader point of view.  I played with twisting the plot to make it someone else, but just kept coming back to her.

2) Me, too.

3) Me, too.

4) This may sound strange, but that's actually irrelevant.  There's a fifth chapter to this installment yet to be posted, and it indirectly addresses that issue.  Simply put, since Kellie's a minor, and her mom is her guardian, Gemma actually holds the rights to the tech, at least until Kellie's 18.  That's why Gemma's on the board and not Kellie. (Dakota's involvement is explained in it, too.)

5) Yeah, and i don;t know that you're gonna feel any better after the fifth chapter, either ...

BTW, the reason for the delay on the fifth chapter is that I'm on deadline for a paying writing gig; I've got two in the works now, and one's a comic book about a size-changing superheroine.  After Chapter 5, there are still two more stories to be told in the Elevator Girl saga.  I'll get them posted as I can around the paying gigs.

Well that's one problem dealt with.  And one more made possibly worse.  Have you foreshadowed the final villian, because I have a guess of who it could be.

Author's Response:

Yes, I've foreshadowed.  As is often the case for me, though, I still may throw even myself a curveball (and I'm writing the sequence in which the villain is revealed this week) if I come up with an idea I think works better than the one I've been playing with.  We'll all find out together, I guess.  (Well, I'll know a little before the readers...)

I'm glad you're enjoying the stories!

You got me with that title and summary.  Good job.

Looks like we're getting closer to the big reveal (as well as critical point with Dakota).

Author's Response:

Your assessment is correct.  (Wow, that sounds formal!)  The ride starts getting wilder from here ...

I'm loving this series and I'm glad you decided to pick up the pace with additions.

The only thing is a couple of them aren't under the Elevator girl series, and you stopped numbering them in the summery.  Can I suggest going back and adjusting those so your readers do end up reading them out of order.

Author's Response:

I got the stories put into the series list about the time you made your review.  Frankly, it had been so long between when I wrote "Elevator Girl Meets Granite Man" and "Elevator Girl's Big Date" that I forgot about numbering the stories, so I'm really glad you reminded me, and I did that this morning.

I'm really glad you're enjoying the series!  I've got a paying writing gig, so I'm working to get this series finished when I have lulls in that schedule.  I hope you enjoy the upcoming chpaters!

The first two suspects that pop to mind are the inexplicably absent Lakota and Jenna. Now, I might be wrong, not having read the earlier stories in this series.* But, in most conventional "whodunits," that's precisely what the author does. He or she initially misdirects the reader with a _plethora_ of mysterious-acting suspects, with various and sundry grudges against the killer and/or framed protagonist.

*Not yet, anyway.

I remember the SUPER SIX from my own childhood! I think it came on very early, Saturday mornings, on NBC. And, you're right. Super Scuba had a mermaid assistant. Kind of like Lori Lemaris...with Harley Quinn's voice!

Ah, well! Enough reminiscing. I'm now off to the next intriguing chapter. :-)

I'm not much for rated G stories on this site. But I love super hero stuff especially with a woman hero. This story is Excellent and it really touched me.

Dave

Author's Response:

I'm really glad. This story is where the series was initially building toward, so I'm happy you feel that way.  Thanks!

Will Elevator Girl have her ups and downs.

Does her boyfriend know how to push the right buttons?

Tune into chapter two in the hopes of a better reviewer than this lame punster timescribe.

Author's Response:

Holy wordplay, timescribe!

You know, writing something about "Same Elevator time, same Elevator-channel" just doesn't scan correctly ...

Glad you liked the story!

Wow! Someone actually remembers the Super 6. Good idea to do a story on it. Let's hope the show somehow ends up on DVD soon.
