SISTER’S NEW JOB
by
Weary Traveler
David could not believe his luck at the trail. He was found guilty of a DUI and
was awaiting sentencing. The anticipation was horrendous, especially since the
new penalty laws had gone into effect last week. The penalty for a first-time
offender was loss of driving privileges for one year and one month detention in
the newly devised miniaturized security prison. He did not know what a
miniaturized security prison was but feared any imprisonment. The judge levied
the sentence and let him out on $5,000.00 bail until the following Monday.
The newly devised system of justice was an answer to problem that had plagued
the land for many years - prison overcrowding. The miniaturization technique
allowed the housing of thousands of inmates at a minimum of expense and space.
The system had been working effectively across the country for the past 2 years.
It was, however, unknown by the general public. No one would talk about them.
Inmates who had served in them and were released would not discuss them. They
appeared fearful and averted their gaze from anyone who would ask them of their
experience. Employees of the system did not talk either. All the general public
knew was that prison costs had been in steep decline and the new system seemed
to be better at reducing repeat offenders… at least in petty crimes in which
inmates only served a short time anyway. The county facility was near completion
and would start receiving inmates at the end of the week. There were many
“special security technicians” already trained but staffing needed 10 more local
hires to fulfill county contract requirements.
David’s 18 year old sister, Deanna, was unemployed and desperate for a job. When
a newly classified ad in the local paper announced county jobs at the new prison
facility she was skeptical. She feared dealing with large unruly men and did not
think her petite 5’4” could handle a rowdy inmate. A strange qualification did,
however, catch her eye: “must have high toe dexterity and sole sensitivity”.
“What the hell”, she thought, the job started at $12.00/hour and had great
benefits with no experience necessary.
Deanna went on a job interview 2 days later. She passed the oral and written
interviews without difficulty. One test, however, was very strange. When she
presented for the interview, she was given a pair of slip-on canvas mules and
told to take her hose off. She was told to grab a grape from a dish on the floor
with her toes and then slip into the mules. She was instructed not to allow the
grape to be crushed for the duration of the interview which included much
walking to various departments. She did this and was asked to remove her foot
from the mules 2 hours later at the end of the interviewing. The grape was
uncrushed. Deanna was hired on the spot to begin training the following Monday.
She did have to agree to a hiring provision that required her to never discuss
what happened at the prison during or after her employment with them.
There was another provision that needed fulfilling before Deanna could start
training, and that was to find an inmate to “sponsor” her training. This inmate
had to be picked from the 100 newly sentenced prisoners that were to start their
sentence the following week. When Deanna saw her brother David on the list she
was delighted. She had always gotten along with her brother and thought it would
be great that she would be able to see him for his 1 month detention. She knew
he would be lonely and had felt sorry for him for getting in trouble with the
DUI. Deanna told David she needed a sponsor for the job and he agreed. He signed
his name at the bottom of her training contract. He felt that it might not be as
bad if he knew someone there, besides, he knew his sister really needed the job
since she had bought a new car recently.
That following Monday, Deanna and David drove to the new facility. Neither
really knew what to expect. Once they entered the building, they followed a sign
that read “ New special security technicians report here.” Deanna and David
walked up to the window in which a young woman in her mid 20’s appeared. Deanna
handed her training contract to her. “Are you her sponsor, a Mr. David D?” she
asked David. “Well, yes, I guess. I still don’t know what is going on here” he
replied. The young woman behind the counter then called 2 security personal,
both young females, to escort David to “the booth”. Deanna, meanwhile, was
instructed to go to the locker room to change into uniform.
David entered a small booth at the end of the hall. The door was quickly shut
behind him. Once shut it became pitch black in there. A strange smell soon
enveloped him and he felt a strange falling sensation. Then the room began to
move about violently for a few minutes and then it stopped suddenly with what
felt like the booth laying on its side. David waited in the darkness.
Deanna went into the dressing room and changed into the uniform which consisted
of a T-shirt with the county logo, a pair of red shorts, and a pair of size 7 ½
slip on canvas mules like she wore in the interview. She slipped into uniform
and reported to the class room along with 9 other young females, all between the
ages of 16 to 30. She took her assigned seat and noticed on the floor in front
of her feet was a cylindrical shaped silver box about 3” long and 2” in
diameter. The 10 trainees were given instructions to touch nothing until
instructed.
At promptly 9AM, an attractive 40 year old female in the security technician
uniform entered the front of the room. “Welcome” she stated “I am your employee
indoctrination instructor Ms. Schroeder. I am here to train you in the art of
miniaturized inmate handling. You all passed our stringent entrance requirements
and have assigned sponsors. You will notice the small cylindrical objects at
your feet. Inside them is the secret to our success in providing a safe
environment for our citizens…your sponsors!”
“Here, let me demonstrate”. Ms. Schroeder then produced an identical cylinder to
the ones in the class and placed it by her feet. “I just want everybody to watch
what I am doing now. Leave your cylinders alone until I instruct you”. She them
slipped her feet out of her mules and placed them on the sides of the cylinder.
She stood the cylinder up on one end which had a wider base. On top of the
cylinder was a button in which she pushed. The cylinder popped open and out
stumbled a 1.5” tall miniature man. He looked up and screamed a high pitch
squeal. Ms Schroeder spread the toes of her right foot and advanced it toward
the little man. He tried to run. She quickly used her left foot to block his
escape and advanced her right foot until she had him pinned between the ball of
her left foot and underneath the toes of the right foot. She then grabbed him
with her toes and slipped her foot into her canvas mule. She put on her other
shoe and proceeded to walk around the room. “Are there any questions?” she
asked.
Everyone in the room was astonished. Deanna could not believe what she had just
witnessed. Slowly it dawned on her that it was her big brother David in that
cylinder and soon she would be doing what Ms Schroeder was doing. Deanna had
mixed feelings. This seemed like a brutal way to treat prisoners, yet, the crime
rate was down and this miniaturization thing explained the solution to the
overcrowding problem. She has always had a somewhat sadistic personality along
with a perverted crush on her older brother. The more she thought about it, the
more she liked the idea of having her brother “under foot”. Ms Schroeder then
walked back to the front of the room. “OK class. Now we will do this
step-by-step with your sponsor…”
David heard muted voices outside the booth for a while. All of a sudden, the
both went upright. A few seconds later the door popped on its hinge and bright
light swept in as he stumbled out into a huge room. The ceiling looked miles
away. David looked up and screamed. He saw his sister was a giantess. The look
on her face was unreadable and appeared disinterested. He felt like a bug under
a microscope. Deanna removed the cylinder and placed her feet on either side of
David. David looked on either side of him and saw the smooth, white soles of his
sister’s feet. He tried to back away but his sister quickly made a canopy over
his body with both of her feet. David yelled and screamed for her to stop but
she ignored him like she could not hear him. She seemed to be following some
sequence step-by-step. Next he saw the toes of her right foot fan out and
approach him. He backed up until he felt a wall at his back - it was the ball of
his sister’s left foot. He could back no further. David waited in helplessness
as the trough under his sister’s toes enveloped him against her other foot. He
soon felt incredible pressure as the toes closed around him. He struggled
against the mighty grip but was unable to budge at all. He was able to breath
but it was tight. Soon he was in darkness and felt the toes loosen their grip.
He was laying on his back with his face up towards the toes and could smell
their musty dampness along with the smell of new canvas. Then his sister started
to walk. David felt his body lift and fall in the darkness. His sister would
step forward which put a lot of pressure on him. The sweat on her feet felt
tacky on his face and body and would cause him to momentarily stick to her skin
before he fell away. This continued for what seemed an eternity.
After about 10 minutes of walking around, Ms Schroeder instructed the students
to sit down and place their sponsors back in their cylinders. Next she handed
out a lesson plan for the entire week which included the feeding and bathing of
inmates. The student’s assignment included homework in which the student’s could
take their sponsors home for practice…as long as they remembered to keep it
secret. The lesson plan called for many hours of “toe drills” designed to
improve toe dexterity in dealing with inmates.
Deanna smiled. She was going to enjoy this.
